Yes, and the more you work, the more income that's reported and less benefits you get. That's why SSI folks usually work minimal hours. It's more due to social pressure than anything. Despite the general perception, the vast majority of people on SSI are on it because they're fucked up and can't maintain employment.

Lucas never seemed worried about being homeless, though. Especially with the timing during winter, he'd be terrified like he was years ago when he was homeless and losing his feet.
