Isn't the hamburglar living in the balkans in like Albania or some shit?

Chris maybe can see where Europe is on the map, but totally not the countries. Like Massa Null, I think the boiler is in a safe place from Chris.

You know, I'm starting to wonder if there isn't a reverse mortgage after all. Did Chris eventually stop begging for/talking about mortgage payments?

We know that the first mortgage was paid off, and the second one in 2009 was also a regular mortgage, but perhaps they got a reverse mortgage around 2019 or 2020 to pay off the second mortgage? Generally you can't get a reverse mortgage until you have at least 50% equity, which they should have reached around then.

I have no evidence for this, just an explanation on how the mortgage payments could not be an issue (because there would be no mortgage payments).

AFAIK creditors were still going after them as late as June, 2021, and I don't recall Chris EVER not begging for money. He stopped mentioning the mortgage payments directly for a while before the incest story broke, but made vague allusions to "keeping accounts afloat". Then he started begging for the mortgage again in various jail letters.

Another title search would show a reverse mortgage on 14BLC, but I doubt it's worth it. It's a VERY unlikely scenario, especially given Barb's credit history and the state of 14BLC.

So if Chris isn't paying the mortgage, and Barb probably isn't, who is? My guesses are Tom and Harriet for some reason or some stupid ween/enabler, although I could be way off.
 
Chris has been pretty lucky being in a protected area in jail. He will get no mercy once he's released to the public. He'll get harassed. Even though he's not on it (yet), where ever Chris goes, any establishment will get calls that Chris is a sex offender from weens. It'll be funny with Chris trying to get into a convention deluding himself by thinking he has allies, but the expectation will turn really quick. I wish it were legal to pelt Chris with vegetables or eggs, but that would be a waste of food.

It probably is Barb, actually. Tom and Harriet might be mailing the checks (or it's on autopay), but the money itself is probably coming from (or through) Barb. Her pension is enough to cover the mortgage and property taxes. The financhu crisis has always been caused by her and Chris' ridiculous spending habits, not a lack of income. If she really is housebound at 14BLC, she can't get out and waste mortgage money adding to her hoard.

The one unknown factor here are her potential medical bills. If she's in a care home somewhere, that would be eating up most of her pension, but she would have no qualms about taking Chris' tugboat to hang onto 14BLC even if she might never live there again. The house doesn't just contain her hoard; it's the single largest part of it.

That's why it's traditional to use rotten eggs and vegetables. They aren't edible any more, so you might as well use them to pelt the village idiot.

At this point, other than 'rapist' or 'local oddball' or 'eccentric' , village idiot is an apt way to describe Chris if you find yourself in Ruckersville. I bet instead of a file, the sheriff of Ruckersville has a cabinet of files on Chris.

On top of that, I bet Chris does a lot of stuff, and I mean a LOT, that goes completely unreported. I suspect half the stores in the greater Charlottesville region have his picture up on their wall of shame / do not let this person in the building display behind the cash registers.

They don't ban violent rapists or even murderers. They ban known shoplifters or people who have caused too many problems in the store. The businesses want money, they don't care who it comes from unless it's actively causing them to lose business.

Chris won't be banned for his charges, he'll be banned for doing stupid shit in the stores, the same reason he's always been banned from places.

Honestly, they're probably a lot more concerned about him stealing and scaring off their customers than him diddling healing his own mother. Incest is an affront to nature, but Chris himself is an affront to capitalism.

to ask this because it’s possible it could be an issue: what happens to the property if the finance company thinks that foreclosure and rehabilitation of the property would cost more than they could get from it? Because I’m wondering if the bank doesn’t see the hoard of junk at 14 Branchland, the army of stray cats, whatever biological waste is in that house, not to mention the bad press that come from evicting an elderly woman with dementia. What happens to a house if the bank looks at it, gets disgusted and says they don’t want to bother with it?

Not a realtor, but simply it'd be put for whatever value they believe it's worth on the market for a rock bottom price. Even if the homes shit and would be better paved over the land itself has inherent value. Even if it's at a loss. It's better to cut ties now and recoup whats left than sink even more into a lost cause.

Wouldn't surprise me someone wanting to do a fixer upper project or bulldoze and start from scratch. Maybe blog about it like "This old crackhouse" or "House flippers".

I tend to look at Chris stuff far deeper than warranted, but this is an interesting thing to consider. As notorious as Chris is online, he's likely developed entirely independent infamy around Ruckersville. If you were a sociologist, it could be interesting to talk to people around Ruckersville and find out if the typical person even knows Chris exists or know him as anything more than the weird guy who comes to their workplace every week or so. In 2022, is it even possible to be a village idiot anymore or has the sense of community deteriorated to the extent that even someone as bizarre as Chris fails to develop an identity as a local character?

Only old people who aren't on the internet. Too many google searches with "ruckersville" in the terms have Chris-related stuff on the first page. If you tell someone online you're from ruckersville, eventually someone will ask you about Chris. Especially if you're younger.

Christ, on google image search if you just search for ruckersville, no other terms, the *SECOND RESULT* (and the first actual photo) takes you to the CWCki.

Could he intentionally kill himself? I remember reading and agreeing with a conversation that said his ego is way too big for him to consider self-harm (at least in the traditional sense)
