While I haven't watched it myself, the impression I get is that the male characters are more genuinely likable, well developed, and interesting than the female ones.

I mostly watched it for Elijah (Andrew Rannells's character). It's no coincidence that he was featured as much as or more than the lead "girls" for nearly half of the series.

I bet Lena and her ilk would try to blame it on male privilege instead of the fact that the guys are genuinely talented, likable, and hard working.

I think I've mentioned it before but for as much as Girls tried to market itself on muh feminism, even the tumblrinas I've seen who watch it are watching it primarily to see Adam Driver run around with no clothes on or one of the other male characters. While I haven't watched it myself, the impression I get is that the male characters are more genuinely likable, well developed, and interesting than the female ones.

It's not like Lena did the female characters any favor either. Her character (Hannah) became her glorified self-insert more than ever and got one hell of an undeserved ending after being an annoying cunt for six seasons, Marnie became inhuman and one of the most unlikeable characters I've ever seen on TV, Jessa's character plain regressed in order to make room for Hannah, and Shosh... was just barely tolerable.

At least Donald Glover's character got to yell at Lena. And it was improv, apparently.

So this has to completely kill what's left of her "career", right? On top of being a shitty terrible person, she's also an idiot because admitting to this could not benefit her in any possible way. Nobody is going "OMG HOW BRAVE OF HER TO ADMIT SHE LIED". Everyone is just ripping her apart as she deserves.

All she had to do was not be such a narcissist asshole and a majority of people would probably feel sympathy for her and her health issues, plus her career would still be in tact.

She still has a few sycophants who are willing to defend the indefensible :islamic::

But overall, in the wake of #metoo, Trump, and Kavanaugh mayhem and panic, if she makes out of this with any kind of career, she is officially bulletproof and has cemented her place as some sort of fucked-up Nora Ephron-on-acid Hollywood fixture until the day she dies.

This is narcissism at its most intriguing: Apology as manipulation and a bid for adulation and sympathy. She really expects people to applaud her raw honesty no matter what she's confessing. I'm sure she's blindsided that many people see her as a monster and rapist.

She has "friends" in the right places, basically. It seems more like those people are all "tolerating" her like the retarded cousin that comes every Christmas and that you have to play nice to even if she pees on the sofa. And it's also probably because she knows a lot of garbage about those people and since she's such an attention whore, they all know she's perfectly capable of telling it all and not giving a shit. So she'll probably be stuck with "consolation prizes" until the end of her life. Just enough to give her work, but not enough to let her be a plague on anyone.

I think most of those friends have vanished. If she's this unpleasant in public, you know she's got to be way worse to be around in public. I foresee a stint in rehab pretty soon, if she can't get attention any other way.

She really expects people to applaud her raw honesty no matter what she's confessing.
Isn't that her entire career though? She's always made a disgusting spectacle of herself and been deified for it. Hardly surprising that she'd expect more of the same.

Of course that's been her entire career/life, but it gets more and more outrageous every time. There has to be a point where most people say FUCK OFF or else she's the most Teflon-coated twat in show business. Her downfall should've happened when she admitted to diddling her sister, but her warped "liberal feminist" fans could write that off as pure childhood curiosity and growing up in a beautiful artistic home free of restrictive boundaries and sexual mores or some such garbage. But openly admitting to lying and potentially covering up the rape of a minor is a little different than "I'm naked and fat" or even "I looked at my sister's vagina when I was seven." Now she's veering into the criminal.

I agree with the person who said that Lena has dirt on a lot of influential people (e.g. Taylor Swift and Judd Apatow) who will continue to prop her up just to keep her big mouth shut.

She may have dirt on people more influential than her, but at least they're not child molesters like she is (that we know of, but if she called them out for that it'd be pretty hypocritical). It's shocking that she wasn't #MeToo'd even though, as mentioned, she freely admitted to molesting her sister.

Has any woman been effectively #MeToo'd? The only one I know who even returns a ping was Asia Argento (who committed no-shit rape) but I don't know what, if anything, that's done to her career.

I think the reason why she didn't get completely unpersoned for sister diddling is a combination of people only remembering the incident when she was seven (which is young enough to be less child molestation and more a curious child not old enough to understand what they're doing) and the sad fact that sexual abuse tends to be taken far less seriously when it's committed by a woman. Plus you also have SJWs with warped priorities who think shit like her being a white feminist or not having enough black people on her show is a far worse offense than child molestation.

Roman Polanski buttfucked a minor and kept making movies decades after the fact, even when he fled the US. Hollywood is very much a “rules for thee but not for me” kind of place. Lena Dunham is one of those people who are a protected caste of people who will only fail upwards. She has powerful friends in the right places like Judd Apatow. I’m going to guess we’re going to keep hearing about her, even if nobody watches what she stars in or produces. Hopefully whatever she does keeps getting cringier and more hilarious because she absolutely does not deserve redemption.

Wtf, if not for the names on the picture, I would have hard time to recognize her! She looks NORMAL and she doesn't stick out as a sore thumb among others. Granted she is not a beauty even on this picture, but she has a normal smile and normal BMI!
Shocking...

Look again. Only one that doesn't have her teeth showing in a smile for the picture...

At least pretend to be happy to be there you stuck-up over-promoted hack, you know, like the sister you molested is attempting to do a few contributors down the line.

Tory, the 5th girl down the line, doesn't appear to have her teeth showing either. Her smile looks more genuine though, and she might just be shy or self conscious (maybe having braces or because she's bigger) Lena looks like "lol fuck this shit"

Well, this is a feminist show after all!

There is a good video of someone making a comparison between Girls and The Mary Tyler Moore's Show: both show the (so called) independent women of their times, but only one is likeable. This comment: "Mary Tyler Moore was a woman and approached life as an adult. Dunham's show is aptly named "Girls" b/c she is a perpetual child seeking instant gratification in a world she thinks revolves around her."

I recently saw that Lena is part of Quentin Tarantino's new movie as a member of the Manson family. With that plus her being a lunatic feminist who shot Andy Warhol in American Horror Story, maybe the only thing she's capable of portraying is a character close to her real self.

Literally the only things she has been cast in that aren't directed/written/produced by her and don't include voice acting are those 2 roles above, playing a record store employee in This Is 40, a role in the movie Happy Christmas, a guest character in 1 episode of Scandal (as a woman who writes a trashy sex expose book), and being in some French movie called Sky.

I guess the good thing for her is that there will always be roles that fit her very limited skillset. If anyone wants to put up with her bullshit, that is.

Not to mention, the always elegant Mary Richards expressed an urgent need to go on a diet...because she hit 120 at 5'7". Clearly nothing like Lena Dunham.

Lena Dunham Defends Jordyn Woods amid 'Public Shaming' Over Tristan Thompson Cheating Scandal

"It's just A LOT of media attention on a very young girl's sexual choices and my heart aches when I see that," Lena Dunham tweeted

Lena Dunham is coming to Jordyn Woods‘ defense.

The always outspoken Dunham, 32, tweeted about allegations that Kylie Jenner‘s longtime best friend hooked up with her sister Khloé Kardashian‘s boyfriend Tristan Thompson.

“Can you imagine if who you’d made out with when you were 21 had massive public shaming consequences?” the Girls creator wrote. “When I was 21 I kissed my friend’s crush in my bathroom during a dinner party. I was inexplicably wearing a dog leash. I stayed in bed for days feeling hot shame. That was enough of a consequence! Nobody slashed prices on my eyeliner brand or whatever.” (Jenner’s Kylie Cosmetics company cut the price of the “Jordy” Velvet Liquid Lipstick Lip Kit in half after the cheating scandal broke.)

“The legal drinking age is 21. The legal going on TV age should be 26,” continued Dunham before quipping: “Just weighing in on the important national issues!”

The actress also responded to a fan who accused her of “coming for the Kardashians.”

“I’m not coming for the K’s! I love and respect them,” Dunham said. “It’s just A LOT of media attention on a very young girl’s sexual choices and my heart aches when I see that.”

Woods, 21, is poised to give her first interview since the scandal to Jada Pinkett Smith on her Facebook Watch talk show, Red Table Talk. PEOPLE has confirmed that the episode will air Friday.

A source told PEOPLE that the family is “pissed” that she may try to make amends on the show. According to the source, Woods — who recently moved out of Jenner’s housesigned an “ironclad NDA” with the family. (A representative for Woods did not comment when contacted by PEOPLE.)

“She can’t talk about the family, so it’s unclear what she’s going to be able to say to Jada,” the source said. “She can apologize but can’t talk about anything really beyond that in terms of the family.”

The source added that “the Kardashians are feeling 100 percent done with Jordyn.”

“They’re saying she should’ve reached out directly, but she did,” the source said. “They were just too pissed to listen to her or pay any attention. On the flip side, if she says anything except ‘I’m sorry,’ or tries to trash Tristan, that’s going to push Khloé back to him and destroy Jordyn.”

“Tristan has been telling Khloé that he feels bad and that they have a kid together and that he disrespected her as the mother of his child,” the source added. “He’s trying to make amends.”

As the source put it, the alleged affair between Woods and Thompson, 27, was a “one-time thing.”

“She was drunk but not blacked out,” the source said. “Afterwards, she knew she had messed up and was like, ‘I gotta go, I gotta go.'”

The basketball player was first caught cheating on Kardashian, 34, last April when photos and videos surfaced of him getting close to other women just days before she gave birth to their daughter True. Though she initially forgave him, they had been living apart since the fall, and a source told PEOPLE last week that things “never really went back to normal.”

Honestly, I know SNL is not a preferred show around here, but Tina Fey's spoof episode of Girls demonstrated everything wrong with that programme.

(Not with Lena herself, because man that would take fucking hours instead of a three minute sketch)

Also, wake the fuck up. Women's sexual choices and behaviour have never been consequence-free. Getting dragged on the internet is still way better than a crisis pregnancy. Everyone will have forgotten this bullshit in ten days when one of the other Kardashians does something exceptional.
