That proposed amendment wasn't ever ratified. I think it's still possible to take it to the states for ratification, but honestly we have bigger fish to fry. And besides, the thing about titles of nobility is they are only something people you have little control over insist on calling you (including your parents if it's something you are saddled with at birth). It wouldn't be just to strip someone of their U.S. citizenship simply because some fools overseas insist on calling them "lord high muck" or whatever. Any sensible person simply ignores those people and gets on with life.

Titles of nobility are something people only take upon themselves if they are pretentious fucks like Chris. Of course this is the Emperor of the North Pole saying this, so make of that what you will.

Even if ratified, the text allows Congress to consent to the granting of a title. I'm reasonably certain that if someone got all the "crazy states" together to ratify, Congress would just pass a law granting its consent to all titles of nobility.

In any event, it's periodically fun to see tax protesters sperg claiming using the title "Esquire" makes a lawyer no longer a citizen, and that their conviction for tax evasion was invalid.

Clearly, Chris is a fucking wizard.
Considering he didn't lose his virginity until after age 30, he is indeed a wizard.

I think one of the most poignant things illustrated by this is how the actual, specific woman in Chris's life doesn't matter; someone in another thread recently said that Chris is moreso looking for someone to cast in a role, rather than a relationship, and these messages go a long way to back that up. He's upset that Catie ended things, but the reason why he's upset is because he she won't play the part that he's already cast her in. He goes to great effort to make it clear that he wants her to stay because of what he wants her to do for him, but says zilch about what he likes about her that makes him want to be specifically with her over anyone else. When most people get dumped and make an effort to convince their significant other to give them one more chance, the pleas are centered around why that person is one they want. Chris, on the other hand, mentions basically nothing about Catie as a person. I don't know anything more about her now than I did before I read the texts. It's pretty sad that I know more about Catie from reading about her in our discussions than I do from when he's professing his feelings.

This ties in nicely with how Chris tends to describe his sweethearts (and sweethearts-to-be, and potential sweethearts, and women in general) in the same generic terms. "Sweet, caring" and so on. Yeah, he says she's special, but he doesn't elaborate, and I wonder if he'd be capable of elaborating. The theory has been floated that he sees potential partners (to some degree) as interchangable, and I wonder if there might be something to it.

This just shows how badly Borb messed him up. No matter how many times this has happened before he never anticipates that he will not get what he wants.

Chris is utterly baffled here. He wants something, and to his astonishment it's not being handed to him. Having grown up with "Say name of toy, get toy." he can't understand why it doesn't work like that anymore.

I suspect if he did have to give some description of her personality, he'd fall back on the usual "kind, caring" description he usually uses. This is one of the reasons why I'm having a hard time feeling sorry for him over this - I don't think he could honestly tell you the difference between Jackie, Catie, Ivy or any of the other sweethearts.

Chris logic for salvaging relationships:
  1. Demand that the relationship be put back on track in most upfront way possible.
  2. If declined, give reasons as to why you deserve this, the more irrelevant the better (eg. I'm related to the Royal Family).
  3. Woefully exaggerate penis proportions.
  4. Blame all the problems in the relationship on them, and make baseless accusations regarding their initial intentions (eg. they were only with you to get a free place to crash) because your senile mother said so.
  5. If for some reason they continue to decline, scapegoat trolls, claim discrimination of autism/LGBT.
  6. Claim to be stressed, depressed, HEART SHATTERED etc to garner pity.
  7. **pant. pant. pant...**
  8. Move on to next girl almost immediately.
  9. For a bonus point, later accuse them of being in cahoots with the GAMe PLACe as proto-trolls, regardless of how illogical this is.
*Edit* You say 'anymore' as if this has actually worked for him in relationships in the past

Chris was raised to be dependent on somebody. Everything he got in his life, pretty much, was handed to him.

I think that Bob eventually came to the conclusion that Chris was a slow-in-the-mind and gave up on him, as far as parenting goes. When Chris was younger, Bob did woodworking projects with Chris in the workshop behind 14BC. (before the shop got filled with Barb's horde) I think back then, Bob still had hope that Chris would amount to something one day. But after Chris's failure at finding and keeping gainful employment, (Wendy's) and his struggles at PVCC, I think Bob realized in the years after Manchester High graduation that Chris was never going to amount to anything.

This just makes me feel bad for Bob. He died with the thought that the only people he's living on through are a hoarder and a cross-dressing manchild.

No, he had his other children from his first marriage, Carol and David, remember? Admittedly, they were estranged, but they were still alive to carry on after Bob died.
