In this Instagram live, she talks about her "boyfriend", Pheepy.
Pheepy (full name Philippe) is 26/28, was born in December 1993/1991, has absolutely no online presence, has never been featured on her Instagram nor mentioned before this particular livestream, and is a French diplomat who has lived in the US all his life.
LJ says that the two of them have known each other since childhood because he's a family friend, and her first memories of him go back to when she was 9. They have allegedly been dating for five years, and LJ proudly proclaims that she was 14 and he was 23.
This information doesn't make any kind of sense, as, if he turned 26 in the year in which she turned 18, it would've meant that he was 22 when she was 14. She claims that their age gap is of nine years, when in reality it would be of eight. She also had problems recounting how old he was when she was 9, making it clear that this person isn't real.
When people began questioning her about this age difference and the fact that she was a minor when they began dating, she said that when an adult is dating a minor, the situation is not so "black and white" and it's not like adult
will end up in jail for sure. She says that, as long as the parents are okay with the relationship, it's perfectly fine and doesn't break any laws. She proceeds to say that even if people reported them, nothing would have happened to Pheepy because her parents were ready to say that it was fine.
She then claims that Laur has worked "with the law" and knows these things, so they were sure everything was fine.
This caused a lot of concern and backlash to stir around her, because she was either a victim of grooming, or she was lying about having a boyfriend and, in the meantime, encouraging her extremely young followers to get into relationships with much older men.
Laur jumped into the scene to try to fix this mess, and somehow, made everything even worse:
In this video, Laur talks about Pheepy and says that he is a family friend who met LJ when she was 9 and he was 18, pushing onto the fact that there is a nine year age difference between them.
She says that they didn't begin dating until LJ was 15 and
a half (she sounds so much like Onision here), and that they did nothing but hang out together in the living room until she became of age, and that there
surely nothing fishy going on the whole time because she was always there.
She also clarifies that, even if she has "worked with the law", she has never heard of the term child grooming before, and when she looked it up, she was disgusted by the mere thought that people would think that a person as lovely as Pheepy would do something like that to her precious daughter. She repeats again and again that the guy is very much real and in a
healthy, balanced relationship with LJ.
Laur then proceeds to end the video by saying that her daughter was not encouraging young fans to get into relationships with older people, and that everybody should just mind their own businesses.
Hilariously enough, people have been pointing out that Philippe was the name of Belle's horse in
Beauty and the Beast, a Disney movie that takes place in France and is from November 1991, meaning that in 2019, it turned 28. Due to the lack of proof of Pheepy's existence (how is it possible that a French diplomat cannot be tracked down), many believe that LJ and Laur took inspiration from that.
