KPop Stans - The round eye fans of slant eye bands

Kpop stans are super annoying because they focus on the worst aspects of Korean culture. I met many korean people in my life and they have always been super hard working and educated. They integrated extremely well into American society and have caused no issues. K pop stans ignore korean values of hard work and discipline and instead focus on feminine looking singers.

I have found a font of unintentional hilarity, r/kpopnoir.
I wanted to comment on how Kpop is getting really popular in Mixed girl circles, and it could only mean one thing: black girls will pick it up too and then things will start to get extra crazy, labeling everything as raaaaaaycist. But I see someone has already done the job.

I've even seen a Kpop band member who was Blasian with braids so I think the pandering will start to get into overdrive with Kpop too. They're not getting any brownie points from me, the whole industry's disgusting, with plastic women and plastic, ultragay men. Don't even get me started on the music itself.

I remember all Asian girls in my grade school had beautiful, natural skin, some of them I never even seen using any foundation or concealer at all. Honestly I was jealous as hell. Then by the time I started university, I could guess who was Korean and who wasn't simply because all the Koreans had that ghastly, unnatural, plastic skin tone from all the Korean BB cream and wore tons of makeup. Not jealous anymore, holy macaroni.

In kpop, due to the pressure to look perfect, often fans end up trying to find older photos of idols to "prove" they are natural beauties and not the result of plastic surgery. A few times it's legit.
Because you can't just scan an old photo, edit it digitally, then share the edited image on an astroturfed bot account pretending to be some diehard Kpop fan that actually belongs to the recording company 🙄

NewJeans is doing ridiculously well, not just stats wise, but marketing wise.
Strange way of calling a group an astroturfed industry plant.

New Jeans lost their court battle with Ador (their record label) because they thought it was a good idea to go on tour under a new band name and drop teasers as "NJZ" while they were still undergoing an active legal case. That, and a shitstorm where '25 will be filled with lawsuits.
During the legal battle concerning the validity of NJZ’s (previously called NewJeans) exclusive contract, the group’s members—Haerin, Minji, Hyein, Danielle, and Hanni—contended that ADOR had failed to fulfill its contractual obligations due to a sweeping overhaul of its management. In a surprising disclosure, they revealed that Min Hee Jin, the former CEO of ADOR, had been ousted from her leadership role.
If they truly, completely disband after only ten songs (give or take a handful of remixes), I wouldn't be mad. Just let them enjoy their youth. Most of them are still legal minors. You shouldn't be pushed into an industry that starves its talents to the point of having "1 coffee a day and every other day 1 small meal", gives them a small cut of their massive profits, and where you are a puppet on a string of a corporation - your personality on variety shows, what lines you sing, how you act in general is all decided by the record label.
(yes, there is another kpop thread, no, i don't feel like necroposting.)

Min Hee-jin always felt like a cow to me. What a rotted cunt.

I was out of the loop regarding the NewJeans legal issues and I just read the Min Hee-Jin wikipedia page and I must say it is fucking nasty. How do you even go from there? I assume the girls' careers are over.

She has a pretty awful history with how she acts around minors. I believe she did shit with f(x) and showed one of the youngest members a highly sexualized image of Brooke Shields. The way she also dumped herself into the NewJeans group to an extent some of the members called her their sixth member. All I really hope are the two youngest members of NewJeans get away from it all since they seemed very uncomfortable, especially the minor who looked uneasy in their callout video to HYBE. I feel less bad for the other three, especially Hanni, since Hanni knowingly lied up there but didn't give a fuck. I say the youngest two will probably try to live a private life, the other three, especially Hanni, no one will want to work with them.

Out of all of the fandoms, I will forever view tokkis as one of the most deranged fandoms in kpop history for how they rabidly defended MHJ, and the pedophilic content she pushed. It doesn't help that they started a trend and normalized dumping a bunch of minors into a group where's one or two eighteen/nineteen year olds, and everyone else is fifteen and sixteen with the occasional fourteen year old (see gen 5 kpop). Minors should not be in the idol industry. It was an issue back then, and it's becoming much worse.

kpop stan culture always confuses me
why dafuq do they want to be part of the shittiest industry around

WHAT THE FUCK DOES BEING BLACK HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING IN KPOP???

tried to quote that mhj post but im getting a "check in the browser console" error

yeah mhj is a bitch
horrendously mismanaged newjeans
not to mention bunnies made it their mission to go after any fifth gen group for "cloning newjeans" - see illit, hearts2hearts for examples
my opinion on fifth gen groups is iffy anyways, its clear they're making songs shorter and putting specific catchy parts to appease tiktok tards / increase stream counts
but when a group is trying to build fans and connect, they cannot do that when their comments are clogged up with accusations like that
MULTIPLE SIMILAR THINGS CAN EXIST WITHOUT THEM BEING A COPY OF EACH OTHER
