For me it seems like KPop singers have the same mortality rate as US Rappers, only for different reasons. And just like with the rapper hydra there are 2 new ones to replace the dead Kpop singer.

The best thing about this fanbase are the fansigns/fancalls. Basically these companies, or music stores set up a raffle to get a chance to meet these idols by buying their albums. But these paypigs know the system and will buy 150+ albums to get that guarantee win, and it is expected what these people look like when they record themselves having a zoom-type meeting with their favorite idol or when there are photographs of the irl fan sign.

The last picture is creepy since the group New Jeans are mostly minors.

I like how the zoom meetings reveal that these guys are looking average or even below average. Without the colored hair they would even be less attractive because then they just look like normal boring asian guys.

They look really sick to me, like they all are going through chemo or something.

I have found a font of unintentional hilarity, r/kpopnoir.

Imagine a whole group of black supremacists who "allegedly" are fans of kpop, yet spend all their time whining about how blacks aren't centered by kpop.

You actually have to prove what flavor of POC you are to post.

Some of the whining:

reee Koreans want to be pale!

reeeeeee! One wore a du-rag!

REEEEEE! It's so exhausting dealing with microaggressions from a foreign art form meant for their local scene!

Yeah the Asians are either ambivalent, or endorsing of Western taboos. However due to Imperial Japanese actions upon China and Korea. The Japanese Naval flag is banned in ports around Asia. And Militant Imperial Japanese imagery, is looked down upon.

The first year I lived in Korea, I went to visit a friend of mine on the East coast. We were walking around and discovered a store called "Hitler's Men's Fashions".
The outside of the store was covered with Nazi swastikas while the inside was just a regular clothing store.

For them it was just a way to stand out.
I am not posting a picture because the only two I have are one of my friend under the sign and one of me under the sign and I am not doxing either of us.

But it was fucking hilarious.

This reminds me of the crazy 90-00s Mariah Carey and Madonna fanatics. I wonder what the lunatics are up to now? Perhaps still trying to sell their 200 copies of Glitter?

I wonder if any of them have ever seen the music video to One of a Kind by G-Dragon lmao

A lot of these Kpop fans I assume got into Kpop when BTS became popular-- around 2019. If they would of saw the shit Kpop idols of the older generation used to do, or say, like doing straight up black face, they would of died of a heart attack. Of course this was during a simpler time when Kpop only catered to mostly Koreans and other oversea Asians at the time so most people didn't give a single fuck, only maybe a small minority of Western fans crying on tumblr or LiveJournal about it at the time.

Have, not of, illiterate faggot.

I know I'm way late to the thread but could someone pretty please explain to me how this bullshit got started? Is it really just some zoomer fad or is there something more heinous behind it?

You can tell by my name I love kpop. Anyways the most toxic people on the internet are kpop fandoms. If you say one wrong thing about a group or idol they like they will attack you, sometimes they'll even make youtube vids about you. I"ve been listening to kpop since the 90s and I never interact with any of these psychos.
