Dark Souls vs Tetris was a hard one, but I ultimately voted for Tetris because (a) Dark Souls isn't even the best of Miyazaki's poison swamp simulators (Dark Souls III, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring all have better claims to that title), and (b) I enjoy a good Soulslike every now and then but a steady diet of them is tiresome, whereas Tetris is an evergreen.

The second one was easy: Hacklikes aren't even my favorite subgenre of Roguelikes, but fuck Mario, fuck Nintendo, and fuck graphics. Who wants to play as some greasy wop plumber who constantly gets cucked by some spiked turtle man (or, if you recall the "Bowsette" meme, spiked turtle tranny) and has to go rescue Peach once again so he can take her home for sloppy seconds? I'll play as an ASCII at-sign like a gentleman.
 
Tetris was boring until they added T spins, pseudorandom selection and lock delay and made the scoring system actually competitive in Tetris DS (2006). Playing Tetris The Grand Master (1998) was pretty painful after so many hours in modern tetris. TGM3 (2005) is great. If you want single player, get Tetris Effect (2018). If you want a brutal multiplayer experience, play tetr.io.

Tetris is a terrific PVP game.
Dark Souls PVP is cancerous.
 
I'm afraid I was forced to vote against both of the JRPGs. If you have Nethack and Tetris, you don't really need any other games: they cover all the bases.

Bloodborne is only popular because no one played it. It's getting the Sonic CD treatment as soon as it has a proper port to another system.

Nethack > Mario but nintoddlers.
Tetris and DS is interesting. Tetris is perfect at being Tetris. It is completely flawless at what it does. But is being a perfect but simple puzzle game better than being a deeply flawed action RPG? I think Dark souls is the better game, but it's far from perfect.
