The intended reason within this model isHow is paypigging justified at all? When I see a funny man on the internet, giving them my hard earned cash for nothing never crosses my mind. What's going on in their heads that they actually act this way?
>good luck getting the stuff you like talked about in an established broadcasting network
>defer to a voluntary capitalism model to 'make your own' as lolbergs would say
>people throw money in a hat on a voluntary basis to pool resources and fund whatever show they like
The problem isn't the model itself, it's content creators deliberately playing into parasocial relationships to maximise earnings.
I know that making internet money is scoffed at within the sektur, but money is the grease that keeps any machine running. Everything runs on money. You think Josh has a secret day job and is funding the upkeep out of his own pocket? This whole site runs on internet money. Without internet money, all you will ever have are walled gardens like twitter and facebook and heavily curated news aggregation through the usual alphabet suspects with no option to discuss things candidly anywhere. I genuinely think that one major reason why several past dissident online movements have died is specifically because this whole 'internet money bad' mentality makes for a very convenient rationale to justify crabs-in-a-bucket behaviour, which makes astroturfing dissident groups into destroying each other very easy. You can't keep something running or dedicate the necessary time to it without money, and you can't make money or take donations because spergs will dedicate themselves to finding ways to destroy that income of yours. If it's not some weirdly obtained personal grudge like with Asston or an ulterior motive like with trannies, it'll be out of plain jealousy.
Case in point, the primary subject of KC, Nick Fuentes is a great example of this. Astroturfing dissident groups into eating each other by pointing fingers and accusing them of grifting is exactly how he grew AF and made all his money.
Edit: By the way, does someone happen to know a KC episode that has all the little meme phrases compressed into one at the very start? Asking for ML script generation purposes.
