Rewatched some of the KH II cutscenes on Yotube recently while remembering bits of 358/whatever days. I still like a lot of the ideas they tried to do if not the final execution. III was not awful and I will admit to having had a few moments of genuine enjoyment in the final boss rush bits.

Also if I am not wrong did the voice actor for Axel/Lee/I didn't memorise get #MeToo'd recently?

Quinton Flynn, yes he did and MGR2 is a double never ever now.

You can only play them via cloud, they're not getting a real physical release, none of the data will be on the cart.
I fucking hate "cloud gaming" with all my heart.Thank god I got that $30 bundle disc set of the games before 3. Remind me to play through it sometime, never got around to it. I HAVE played the original versions on ps2 though and remember pretty much everything about them so that's a thing. Also need to get 3 now that I've seen it going for cheap everywhere sometime. Hopefully it doesn't kill my ps4 since apperently it does bad things to non-pro ps4s lmao

I played KH3 3 times not counting the dlc, my slim ps4 didnt have any poroblem running it, some parts even run at like 50 fps if you unlock the framerate

Have a regular PS4, really nothing happened. The "worst" part everyone keeps mentioning for the PS4 possibly keeling over was probably the Caribbean boat fight but no my PS4 didn't chug or make any concerning noises or slow down so your good. Another part I thought it would chug would be the final battle but it was fine there too.

Tbh question to all of us KH3 kiwis, is it me or did frozen world look like dog shit? The animations were smooth in every world but when it was frozen land Sora looked SUPER SUPER off. Some people say i'm full of shit, some agree that in their copy Sora looked fucked up, I want to know everyone else take.

Also is remind worth it? I still keep waiting for it to price drop under $20 but I don't think it will.

Frozen world is the way as it is probably due to the same reason there's barely any optional side stories or final fantasy stuff in 3, which is Disney clamping down on square enix's freedoms. Most games before 3 had sora and friends actively inserted into the movie's plots despite it being ridiculous as fuck/ Frozen world their on some bland ass white mountain watching the nearly 1 to 1 copy FMV let it go scene from frozen from a distance and going "WOW THATS ELSA?! COOL!" There was a watermark they forgot to remove on the thing when the game first released but I think that may have been fixed in the updates. The area was clearly half assed and phoned in to an extent.

Sora’s lips looked weird as fuck in III maybe get some chapstick or something
There's a very clear yet also very slight style change with the non-disney humans in 3 in general that makes them look kinda off but sora kinda takes a big hit from it. I think it's like they tried making them less anime but still anime styled somewhat so you end up with characters like Sora having strange ass proportions and lips compared to the games before 3 where they just more or less slightly tweaked or reused the ps2 assets that were anime/final fantasy style. It's like KH3 is going for a more Final fantasy X aesthetic for lack of a better way of putting it. Both kingdom hearts and that game already have a somewhat similar aesthetic due to both coming out around the same timeframe and both being made by square enix but like Kingdom hearts had a SLIGHT difference that made it noticable.

In Kh3, to me everyone kinda hits uncanny valley.
I think the ONLY semi-ok ones would be the way-finder trio but that's cause they're not in there long enough to be there, and Demyx but same argument there.
Xemnas' hair looks so damn stringy in KH3. I miss that anime poof from KH2. It just has some kinda energy and I live for it.

Is remind worth it, or not really? I keep beating around the bush about buying it.

Aside from the textures in the ports of 1 and 2 being weirdly desaturated overtime compared to the original ps2 release, another thing bugs me. Because the ports are all upscaled versions of the originally japan exclusive special editon releases of the games the enemies have weird color scheme alterations that don't always look good. Shit like the search ghost going from a standard cartoony ghost to some weird fucking gold-plated head ghost with a neon green ghost ass is one of these examples of shit that only really works as a "huh that's a cool one time only deal" kinda thing. Games used to occasionally do this kinda stuff but with kingdom hearts it's a lot more apparent because they changed pretty much nothing in the ports of the special editions as far as I can tell other than enabling them to be played at higher resolutions without looking fuzzy.

I've also noticed some shit severe sudden drop in quality of old youtube uploads. 240p looks like 2p or some shit now. I haven't changed my computer to a 4k one or anything so I'm sure this is a thing on their end.
Anyways, the reason I brought THAT up is because i ended up remembering and looking up the OG kingdom hearts trailers from way back in the day that used that orchestral version of the main theme that's been used in some other trailers over the years, as well as the Smash reveal for Sora.
God I was like 8 or 9 fucking years old when the fucking thing went out lmao. (not the youtube vid but the trailer obviously)
This isn't the version of the Trailer I remember, though. The one I saw had the text cutting in between shots of the game, and showed shit like the Cerberus bossfight intro. I remember people being weired out yet also mindblown that this game even fucking existed when it was revealed.

Anniversary event is coming on April 10th.
Tons of people are saying they'll unveil Verum Rex at the event. I agree with this idea, since if 4 is, as I suspect, about Sora and Yozora teaming up in the fictional worlds, they could use VR to elaborate on Yozora's character and backstory.
I wonder how they'll fit in Riku's experiences in the realm. Maybe make another game detailing it?
And this might be just me, but I wouldn't mind if the handheld-exclusive games (Days, Coded, Union Cross, Dark Road) got a remake.

ETA: Another thing, the Switch versions are going to be released in February, at a package cost of $90. The price might be acceptable if a) the All-In-One package plus Re:mind weren't about half of it and b) they weren't cloud.

Finally got around to 1.5 + 2.5 on PC. If you're putting your games only on the EGS you're signaling that you want me to have them for free. Decided I'm also going to do all the games on their hardest difficulties + all of their superbosses. For KH2 I'll specifically be doing a lv 1 crit mode run, but that's because it's exquisitely balanced for it.

Playing Kingdom Hearts on my PC in a non-emulated way still feels great. I'll drop whatever their asking price is when it launches on Steam because I love this dumb series.

I had a discussion about the tone of the games recently. KH1 feels the most like "for kids" and it only feels like as Nomura gradually ages Sora he's trying to pull away from that but is constrained by it, likely by Disney. ReMind basically ends with Sora being the bad guy, which considering Nomura has stated Sora will always be the main character, will be interesting going forward.

Let's be real though, NONE of the Disney worlds and/or characters, outside of Mickey/Donald/Goofy add ANYTHING to gameplay and/or story. Hell, even Malificent and Pete took a backseat, which kinda pisses me off because Malificent is pretty badass on her own.
