Cobes is unintentionally one of the funniest people I've ever seen. If he was some elaborate Andy Kaufman style bit, he'd be a comedy genius. Watching him try and coach potential school shooters about how he turned his life around by focusing on productive things like "playing the guitar... or drinking alcohol," is legitimately laugh out loud funny.

Ignoring all the weird shit the troles say about him, his worst life choices mostly hurt himself. He eats and drinks gross shit, neglects his personal hygiene to the point of medical problems, and he slays 0.005/10 Boghag pussy. None of those problems really affect me and it's Cobes himself who has to pay the price for them.

He's 100% the weird kid you knew in grade school who would eat bugs for money and always smelled like a wet dog. And like that weird kid back then, I don't know why people aren't content to just let the poor BOY be and just sit back and occassionally marvel at whatever weird gross shit he's decided to do now.

At first most people were really interested in cobra for being a wacky and authentic character who had other wacky white trash friends and the funny situations they got their low IQ selves into. Scrapper Steve the goat fucker, homeboy scotty the manipulative deadbeat dad, Alex Anderson's genuine comradery with cobra, warlord's insane antics, darf's strangely wholesome bumbling behavior, etc. And somehow this zany autistic guy still got laid and had girlfriends which was nice to see (and usually funny). It was kind of like irl trailer park boys.

Hell the original documentary was actually really good and explored his weird but endearing life and the people in it.

People started to hate on him after he stopped trying to get a girlfriend, stopped trying to get a job, stopped leaving the apartment for anything ever, stopped filming outside and stopped bike riding, stopped making wands or anything to sell and started only posting "joke" and "rant" videos with no livestreams. Basically people were really disappointed that he failed at literally every chance, stopped trying, and became an alcoholic shut-in that doesn't produce any of the old fun content.

After that the content about cobra started changing to how disgusting his food hacks are, his rages and meltdowns, weird rants, etc. Which invited a more cynical and sadistic audience. Sadly cobra only has himself to blame for giving up and existing only to drink, inhale duster and smoke, jerk off, and ebeg for just enough to keep that cycle going. Beleive me I want nothing more than for him to pick himself up and start living his life again but as someone who's watched him for 5+ years you start to learn hope for cobra improving his life is futile.

I've actually been really interested in why people hate cobes so bad from all the way back before the reddit got nuked. I joined an alog discord and his fb group and tbh most people seem to have misplaced emotions, they say they hate cobes, but if you asked them to say why they would just list a bunch of things that they found disgusted/repulsed by. Alot of people are simply disgusted with him to the point they mislabel it as hate. There are people who genuinely hate him though and want to see him dead, I can't speak for all of them but the ones I got to know like that were very miserable in their real lives. I've brought it up before but one guy would get super upset if anyone bought cobes anything but rot gut alcohol, he had a meltdown when cobes got sent the nice 90 dollar bottle of liquor and ruined it with epic drink combos. Literally crying in chat and getting so mad he was saying he wanted to beat his wife and kids all over someone not sending josh rotgut vodka.
