Because it's addict talk, that's why.
He damn well knew what he was doing when he popped the first pill, and it's risks. Why did he still do it? Because "pull your boots up and be a man" wanted the easy way out. Same reason he did his retard coma shit, detoxing sucks, and benzos CAN kill you if done incorrectly, no other drug (aside booze) can, not even oxys you just feel like shit and I don't mean flu, shitting yourself crying in pain etc, detox is awful, even done safely.

JP the be a man man, said pump me full of more drugs and I'll wake up bright and shiny, when even people who know nothing of meds, know that doesn't work, hence you have to go to a 3rd world for it where they would tack on an extra eye for a stack of US dollars.

I agree he didn't want to suffer, or to minimize it, but being in a medically induced coma and coming up out of that isn't easy. He made a mistake. There go I, but for the grace of God.

I've seen the same in the entertainment industry over here. Most people working in it are blind to it, until the first time they have an idea that goes against the zeitgeist/groupthink. Then you get people falling over you, or get panned by the critics over ideological reasons suddenly. It happens at every level, from writing, to rewriting, to what gets funded, to how it gets reviewed. I don't think of it as just "leftist", because it isn't exactly that.

For example, american movies can't make jokes about suicide in any situation relating to the military. Not if you want to use military equipment in your movie. They'll even demand to have statements like "I'll kill myself if I have to clean the toilets again" removed. Is that conspiracy? It seems to big a word for it. But it's affecting what you see and hear in movies.

What is addiction if not wanting to take shortcuts while knowing it is a bad idea?

What is not wanting to suffer the withdrawal by being in coma if not another way of taking a shortcut?

It's not a conspiracy that the military has a specific image it wants to present and doesn't want anyone making fun of it. Thus, if you want to use real military equipment, you have to do what the military says. (And do you really think they'd let you use military equipment for a film that, say, shows the US military as evil?)

I think if all they were interested in was the almighty dollar you'd have more movies a la passion of the christ, or child versions of that. Big box office success, targetting a large demographic of america, well received by the target audience, panned by critics.

Instead they take the most christian of fairy tales and turn it into a white guilt narrative.

Of course it was hugely profitable as well, but it's hard to miss the ideological pushing inside it.

Peterson is a psychologist, not a psychiatrist, and that means he's a "people person," not too concerned with the legitimacy, implications, or mechanisms of treatment. He has stayed far and away from discussing medication or how you should use it in public, as he well should, for exactly this reason: he even blindsided himself with some of his choices and actions around medication.
Most people think they're stronger than addiction. They aren't, or they aren't always. Some very weak people are practically immune to addiction, at least to any specific substance, while some very strong people crumple after a few doses of any addictive drug. He probably had some idea that benzos were addictive, but no idea of how addictive benzos would be for him.
If you have ever listened to Dr. Peterson and it has swayed your behavior on medication, other than to eliminate minor psychological strains and personal failures that don't need medicating to fix, you should be talking to a professional psychiatrist (if you aren't already).

This isn't exactly true; he's talked about it in regards to his lobster example (the value of anti-depressants) and he's expanded on it on a number of occassions.
 
To be honest, giving this much of a shit about the alpha/beta dichotomy is the gayest, cuckiest thing one can do. As long as you do what you want that isn't morally reprehensible, you're a cool guy in my book.
 
Jordan Peterson addiction became an issue when he started receiving mentions on the internet. And because he is a faggot who couldn't deal with being famous he started abusing benzos to calm him down.

Thing about benzos is that they generate dependancy on the user more so than any other drug because they directly affect serotonin levels, meaning you can't withdraw them as any other drug. You need another drug to counteract the effect of withdrawal.

He is now a broken man, followed by young men who are faggots themselves and need their daddy figure to tell them what to feel and how to act.
