Pssst…hey flyover white boy, I’m a military recruiter. I’ve got for you the opportunity of a lifetime.

How would you like to see the Ukraine this time of year?

Maybe Iran?

Ever wonder what it’s like to be beheaded? Not in Afghanistan, but by fellow soldiers right at home on Fort Bragg!

The benefits of joining the armed forces are vast. Once you sign that dotted line, you give up your First Amendment rights to an Affirmative Action general who reserves the right to watch your social media for any patriotic sentiment or pride in your (and only your) race.

Accidentally follow your conscience? Stand up for your values? Get court martialed and live your life as a felon. And if there’s a war, you’re in luck. When you die the man watching every breath you take for “hate speech” will enjoy a bump to his weapons contractor stocks.

You might be from West Virginia or Wisconsin, but you will have the privilege of being told you are privileged by the same wonderful, well-credentialed and brilliant wealthy Manhattan Jews who make all of your country’s foreign policy decisions.

Did you like the gay innuendo in Top Gun? We will pay for your sex change and then promote you in rank for your courage!

But the best part? You might not even have to leave home for long. Remember when you played soldier with the other kids in your little farm town? Now you’ll get to play for real when we order you to shoot at the people you grew up with for holding the beliefs you share.

Sure, Washington oversees an empire that hates you for your race, but think of the upside. Who is going to protect the morbidly obese incoherent Crayon box of people and cultures while they sit at home and game? Who is going to defend the illegal aliens pouring over the border and state-backed black criminals? How are the bankers and plutocrats going to buy their daughter a party house in Boca if there’s nobody to defend their profits?

Who but YOU is going to defend a status quo that openly discriminates against you in every facet of life for who you are?

Do the patriotic thing and get on your knees, cracker.

Join the US military… please

One thing that is interesting is how viciously veterans groups and forums dissuade new potential recruits from joining the military, (and if they have to get the benefits, from joining any combat arms). This was not the case even 5 years ago.
How long before the requirements for any discharge involves a NDA?

I'm pretty sure that right now, if you do enough high-speed low-drag shit, you have to sign the "snitches get stuffed in ditches" letter.

I'm not vicious about it at all. Hate what's happened in the military over the last thirty years-plus. I merely advise potential recruits/officers if they join, join to learn a skill useful in the civilian world. Can't even say join for the educational benefits. Community college is quite affordable, then transfer to a state school for the last two years. Or go to trade school.

Recently saw an article saying many potential recruits don't believe the country is worth their service. Going by what is shown in the media, getting harder and harder to disagree with that. No, can't really see risking life, limb, hearing, etc., to defend drag queens, groomers, pedos, and the "woke". Not part of my America. Suggest in the eyes of many parents in the prime recruiting areas in the USA, this view also applies. They are appalled by what they see and don't encourage their kids to join.

@Meat Target - not aware of such things happening during my service, but was in a different branch of the military and a much different line of work.

That’s fine. But anybody who asks about your service and you say you were a diesel mechanic based in Texas will silently think (“ah ok”), not the crazy war theatrics they’ve seen in movies for the past 10 years.

There was a sense of adventurism in combat arms specialities 10 years ago that wasn’t seen as a “total waste of time”. Lots of guys from high income families, high asvab scores who had lots of opportunities comparing things like infantry, armor, SF, marines, etc. You could easily end your service with your first 2 years in college credits, with plenty of benefits for the rest of your undergrad and beyond.

But that doesn’t really exist now. Those guys are either in the “it’s just a waste of time” camp or the “why the f would I fight for this”.

I lost faith in this country a long time ago. Last thing I want to do is sacrifice my life for a country that doesn't even care about me.

If this were a country to be proud of, not the ashes of a great nation infected by wokeness liberal faggotry, I might. If I'm allowed to glass California and their roach infestation that's spreading, then sure.

A sense of adventurism is a good way to put it, and your description fits me with the exception being I enlisted 30+ years ago, rather than 10. I went into Armor. The only way I was going to get to load/drive/shoot/command an M1 Abrams was by signing up.

What better adventure than learning a 69 ton turbine powered MBT from muzzle to exhaust, and getting to blow a bunch of shit up in the process.

I wouldn't recommend anyone enlist today though, for obvious reasons.

One of my good friends has a family tradition where if you turn 18, you had to join the Marines. They stopped doing that now because this family of Marines that went back generations realize it’s too much of a shitty deal. That was shocking considering how passionate they are about the Marines, which shows just how awful the military in general is getting these days.

You sign the SF 312 before you get access to anything classified. You're supposed to sign it again when you no longer need access, but some S2s don't bother. I think there's a different NDA for SAPs and ACCMs. And you're supposed to sign an SF 4414 before accessing SCI. This is because these categories are extra-special classified and you're extra-special screwed if you leak them. That, and they need a list of who has access so they know who to look at when there is a leak.

Yup, signed all sorts of NDAs - signals intelligence here.

Is it "you'll get out of Leavenworth once you're in a box" screwed, or is there something worse they threaten you with?

What the fuck....

@JosephStalin @Jet Fuel Johnny did this Mickey Mouse bullshit ever happen in your day?
It's Fort Bragg. The only place worse than Bragg is Hood, the only thing worse than Hood is your current duty station.

Bragg's always been known as a shithole where the 82nd and the fucking snake eaters run around and act like retards. But I don't remember hearing about THAT much fuckups.

Of course, you can point to lower standards, or just that it's fucking Bragg.

It is true, though, and has been for a long time, that for a lot of jobs/units, you're safer in country than back in garrison.

Lots of MOS's and duty stations, and sometimes the shit you get up to, requires the equivalent of an NDA after you get out. Some of them are pretty fucking tight.

I had about three days worth the exit briefings.

Is it "you'll get out of Leavenworth once you're in a box" screwed, or is there something worse they threaten you with?
Not outright. I don't know about now, but it was strongly inferred that you might suffer a car accident.

So how well did Jim Crow elevate, do tell?
Ironically you actually bring up another good counter point. After WW2 the Truman administration did a study on returning veterans reincorporating into society - there was a big fear of mass unemployment and homelessness but due to the war dividend that never came. Finding that most of their issues were quickly resolved, they began focusing just on black veterans and blacks Americans. What they found was that across most US cities: black Americans were actually outperforming their white counterparts. Higher incomes, higher home ownership rates, less delinquent families, etc. The problem was that most blacks were concentrated in the south, most were still share cropping, they didn’t even have plumbing or refrigeration. The question on helping the blacks was almost entirely on “how to fix the south”. The early civil rights legislation actually ONLY applied to southern states. After all the north had no reason for it.

The Civil Rights era did not help these middle class black communities across the country. Together with the great society, welfare, section 8, slumlord real estate developers, the great migration, the CIA importing crack cocaine, no fault divorce, globalization and opening up China, this era destroyed the black middle class. Today we don’t really have a black middle class to speak of at all. The millennials and zoomers just mix into the generic diversity / globohomo class along with the rest of us.

Whats the point. Can't even kill anyone nowadays. Remember boys hearts and minds - 2 to the chest 1 to the head

I just have to laugh at this as Black folks has been disenfranchised from joining the military LONG before this woke craze.
If you are a nigger and join the army, you will make E6 in under six years even if you're a fat tub of lard who can't even pass the PT test. It's been that way even before this woke shit.

I'll let you read the book. The illustrations are really cute. To give you some examples of people who broke their NDAs, Robert Hanssen has been entombed alive in ADX Florence for decades. He is slowly losing his mind. That's not speculation, a psychologist who interviewed him said this. Jonathan Pollard spent 30 years in prison before receiving parole, and is now living comfortably in Our Greatest Ally's capital city. Less serious cases have also resulted in prison time. Reality Winner got just over five years for leaking a classified report about Muh Russian Meddling. She was smart enough to speak four languages but stupid enough to speak to the FBI. (If you've never been interrogated, that's a great read.)

On the other end of the spectrum, Bradley Manning spent a few years in the disciplinary barracks receiving free sex change treatment, so things really worked out for him.
