Exactly. "But why would you keep a pet if it doesn't care about you?"

Because I like how it looks and I like watching it explore the environment I created for it. Sometimes the animal not caring about you is a plus, not everyone likes taking care of what's essentially a toddler that never grows up. It's really a shame that the exotic animal community is infested top-to-bottom by retards that hoard the animals and treat them like status symbols.
as someone who has always had an interest in zoology, large predators specifically, I can understand the appeal of an exotic animal for a pet but I cannot follow along with the people who see these animals as status symbols or a way to flaunt their wealth/farming clout online. Whether it be Grizzly man, this guy or a dude from my local dog park who decided to get a Czech wolfhound and later a wolf-hybrid (although to his 'defense', it was a low percentage hybrid), there's something wrong inside these people's heads.

These types of people actually make me mad. "Oh my wobbly ball python is a happy, healthy big chungus despite the brain damage," no it isn't. Put it out of its misery you selfish degenerate. "oh my pitbull is a misunderstood widdle bwaby," why is it mauling someone's chihuahua then?
I do hold a large amount of respect for owners who do right by their alternative pet. I think snakes and tarantulas are hella interesting but I could never keep one as a pet, though I understand the appeal of an alternative pet type. Parrots are rad as shit, too.

How fitting.

I’d like to keep jumping spids but they’re so small I’d be concerned about them escaping and getting crushed or freezing in the winter.

why would you go through all the trouble of getting all these exotic snakes to put them in tupperware containers
Because the snake is a substitute for a personality. He doesn't give a fuck about these animals and everything was an accessory to him.

That animal that he's talking to like he has a repitiore with, was put into a freezer and died along with everyone of his other 13 venomous snakes.

I bet that when he was told all his animals were killed his first thought was his youtube channel.

He's a sociopath, plain and simple. Doesn't give a fuck about one of his deadly snakes escaping in an apartment building that could house children or elderly people, doesn't give a fuck about securing them, doesnt give a fuck about proper enclosures, doesn't give a fuck about whacking his viper with his giant red lid, doesn't give a fuck about how that herp room smells of 15 different species and is probably stressing every lifeform in there the fuck out all day. Doesn't give a fuck that these snakes are illegal in his municipality, so much so that he's willing to let them live in a shared apartment with his deadly snakes.

I'm not a "you can never feed a snake live food" pearl clutcher, but there is a reason live feeders have a bad rep and guarantee that this guy feeds live consistent with the bad rep feeders. In the event that I'm wrong he only feeds frozen as a way to impress his fake morality on others and condescend.

The guy does it for clicks and attention because beyond what he collects he's a nothing of a person. These now dead animals are just accessories to him.

Never trust 50 year old Renters or deadly animal owners. If you meet a combo of the two run the fuck away.

Crazy how many people try and gain status by abusing animals. This guy almost reminds me of the monkeyfuckers. Totally depraved and obsessed with being a tough guy.

Cosmic justice if one of his abused pets kills or cripples him. Rate me mad, but fingers crossed!

We had the same kind of guy who that would hold and "train" king cobras in the UK by slapping them on the head.

He tried to get me to go into the cage with 14 ft king cobra with these guys it's always about attention.
With the increase in keeping venomous snakes they need to free handle to get the same attention.

It's so super funny that his last post is him defending holding one of the most dangerous snakes in the world much to the dismay of the other keepers telling him he's going to get bitten.

I've seen people free handle lots of venomous snakes but never a fucking Taipan.

Keeping animals in tupper ware containers in racks is a fucked up common practice in reptile keeping and they insist that the animals just love it, when that's obvious bullshit.

It depends on the species but a Viper is going to care about the humidity (important for shedding among other things), temperature (cold blooded) and cleanliness of the enclosure and that is literally it. In the wild it's going to curl up under some half rotten log or mouse den it just raided and not move for days. You can build crazy enclosures for these types of ambush predators but 95% of the time time they are sitting in the tight, dark hole on top of the heating pad and the most essential piece of snake furniture is a hide... and usually in a fancy terrarium, full of active soil and springtails and live plants, there is a Tupperware container with a hole cut into it buried/hidden in the corner (easy to pull out and clean) where you will find the snake.

Something like a corn snake is much smaller (skinny but long) and they need space because they like to tunnel and be active (that's the appeal of them) and I think one of them would be miserable in a tupper ware. A Kenyan Sand Boa doesn't really need much space, like the Viper he ain't going anywhere... but he needs sand to hide in. Also there are species that make use of verticality and need branches and they should probably be terrarium kept.

So yeah it's not classy to keep your snakes in Tupperware and I wouldn't because the point as a private owner is to display them... but I don't think Python breeders are cruel for keeping their snakes in racks (they are very comfy and they get laid) and I wouldn't hesitate for a minute to chuck a Ball Python in a Rubbermaid for a week while I remodeled or cleaned or w/e.

Surviving is the worst possible result for him.
I fear the snakes that are considered very deadly but their mortality rate is very low, why? They let you live but fucked up for life.
It's weird because the Taipan would be in the certain death category but his was a small baby one...

Anyway if I'm to get fucked up by a snake I'd rather get bitten by a mean elapid and die than get blinded, disfigured or lose a chunk of my body.
Shit like a fer-de-lance always appears on those "top 10 deadliest snakes in the world" but the mortality rate per bite is only 5% I think that's even without treatment, but you can kiss goodbye the part of your body the snake attacked.

Somehow fate has changed a bite that should have killed this guy into one that will let him live.
Mr. Not Dead Yet is gonna wish he was dead soon, he'll probably never be the same since the organ damage is irreversible, as I understand he got some of that pussy ass bitch antivenom 5 hours+ after the bite, that's fucking horrifying.

This dude gives me serious Timothy Treadwell vibes.

Guy becomes obsessed with bears after quitting drugs. Flies to Alaska every year in bear country, and starts going on unhinged rants at how the Government doesn't care about to bears because they "only fly over the area rarely". Eventually he starts playing with bear shit. The whole saga culminates in the dude and his girlfriend getting eaten by a bear.

Yeah the main issue with tupperwares is they are easy for the snake to break out of moreso than they are cruel (as you stated depending on the snake). A snake can slink out of them with ease, either by bending the lid or popping whatever locking lip is on the plastic box. Snakes are made for escaping them.

For a juvi ball python it's typically not an issue if it escapes and you can find them under a couch cushion or near another source of heat. But for a venomous snake the tupperwares are tempting fate, which seems to be Jeff's MO.

If he had anti-venom immediately he would’ve likely been almost fine even with an adult. Dude had to wait 9-12 hours for his first dose, and rumours are he wasted the resources of like 9 more doses (that’s 9 people it could’ve saved) because he waited so long it didn’t work. Each does is $4K. That’s why his FB posts about it being for pussies then having to beg for antivenin are so hilarious. His pathetic ego made him buy the snake and his pathetic ego stopped him having antivenin on hand.

Now his kidneys are bye-bye and he’s so bitchmade he can’t breathe without a ventilator. Turns out machismo < organ failure.

As retarded as Timothy was, he actually cared about the animals, even if he did more harm than good in the end. He got some amazing footage no one else has come close to even now. Likely would not have died if he didn’t stay so late in the season, something he never did before that, probably suicidal and depressed. Dumbfuck had to take his girlfriend out with him. Though in the tape recording of them being eaten alive, he does tell her to leave him as he realises he’s going to die. Unfortunately, she was munched too, idk if she tried to leave or tried to help him though. The documentary is pretty good.

I wonder if he got bit and spent the first half hour trying to tough it out and not be a "pussy." He probably had a dry bite or two from a less deadly venomous snake in his time as a retarded herp horder and thought he was immune to venom like the injun he bought his rattler from.

Mr. Renalfailurewitz is a retard. You are right that hot snake keeping requires locking racks and stuff... I didn't see an actual rack setup anywhere, I didn't see the heating pad, any ventilation fan or water dish and that box is actually large (and not at all dark) for a snake hide and needs a smaller Tupperware inside or something. He just has a bunch of deadly snakes in boxes all over the floor.

I'm talking about python breeding setups like this:
1726175805948.png

Where the enclosures are small, plain and artificial but you know they are clean, fed, ventilated, hydrated and humidified. Ball Pythons are like Chinamen, give them a pod and a soggy rat to eat and they will be happy. We project our need for space, light, aesthetics and whatnot on to them but in reality they are so alien they could really care less. They are going to be a in a torpor just digesting and chilling until they have to take shit or eat another rodent.

Apparently he didn’t tell EMS it was a taipan bite until hours later. According to the pinned comment on the Joey Josselson video.

Beta kidneys turbonuked into the shadow realm.

"It's not really happening if I don't tell them"
What a retard

they just think they’re interesting and a different form of life to enjoy
My girlfriend in high school had a Russian Box Tortoise. Her room was too cold, so the terrarium ended up at my house for a while, and one of my favorite things to do was grab some dandelions and toss them in. Watching a tortoise calmly monch flowers is very soothing, I would just sit and watch him do his thing and it was awesome. He didn't like to be handled, because why the fuck would he?

It takes a special kind of brain broke to look at something and NEED to physically touch it, especially when the animal makes it clear they don't like it. A puppy or a kitten loves the attention and wants to be touched. Reptiles do not, so they are an eyes only pet the vast majority of the time. So crazy to think people don't just understand this lol
