There are some good people in the snake/reptile community.

I doubt there is one good person in the United States who keeps a venomous snake at home.

This is legitimately the most hilarious five words ever penned, rivaling the "baby shoes for sale: never worn" short story but for comedy. There is so much said in such a short sentence.

There are some good people in the snake/reptile community. They do not think or care if these animals hold affection for them, they just think they’re interesting and a different form of life to enjoy, without the demands of something like a dog.
I've had two friends who kept snakes but they were responsible and took great care of them. They also weren't keeping one of the most venomous snakes in the world, snakes that aren't supposed to leave Australia; they were keeping normal pets.

It irks me that this guy wasn't prepared and had the gall to ask a zoo for anti-venom.

I also knew someone who died of kidney disease in his 30s. It bothers me that people like Jeffrey end up on the transplant list because of poor life decisions they don't even have the sense to be apologetic about. Giving this fool a kidney is going to be like the liver George Best got: he's not going to change his ways and take care of it. Someone else probably would.

Well the problem is that you have to put up so many guardrails on your hypothetical scenario that it becomes absurd. Well adjusted people dont fuck their siblings, the reality of incest is its usually a figure of authority fucking their kids ala Ben Thorp. Same thing with the venomous snakes.

I see your point, there is a threshold at which legal accountability should come into play. If you have to own a fucking pit viper, then you need insurance/to be held liable if it escapes. Also there is a state by state argument to be made here. Keeping a non-native snake in Maine isn't a risk to anyone but you and the snake who will freeze to death in no time should it escape... while conversely keeping pretty much anything in Florida is a natural disaster waiting to happen.

Most people who would want a relatively benign snake, like a ball python or a cornsnake, are 20 year old stoners. Any person that wants a venomous snake is just the evolved version of this pokiman. A 30 year old renter whose turned his whole personality into "the snake guy", now has to up the odds to seperate himself from the herd of level 1 ball python owners.

I think your personality assessment is pretty much on point, lots of weird hippies and edgy bois, with a few autistic collector/breeder types thrown in. I would point out though that you can one up the common ball owner without jumping to a different species, never mind 'hots'. The Ball world is bigger than the rest of the reptile world combined and you can always get another crazy morph. You can spend 30K on a fucking ball morph and the hobby for a lot of people is in collecting morphs and breeding them to see what you can get. https://www.morphmarket.com/us/c/reptiles/pythons/ball-pythons?ordering=-price Even some of the hardest to keep and most beautiful natural snakes in the world like the Rainbow Boa are dirt cheap compared to a Sunset Ball. It's actually one of the sadder facts of the hobby, wild caught snakes (and natural colored snakes that can be bred directly from them) are dirt cheap, third worlders go out and round 'em up for export. All the cash and prestige is in morph breeding.

Also here is a catchy song about Ramona who works down at the snake farm and kinda looks like Tempest Storm:

I rushed over here ready to laugh at a stupid retarded fucking around and finding out then I read the snakes got put down and now I'm sad. Animals shouldn't be punished for the retardation of their owners.
It's sad, but that's why it's illegal to own a lot of these snakes in the first place. The state doesn't really have the facilities to take care of a bunch of dangerous exotic animals, and when they're owned by idiots like this they're often pretty fucked up in the first place. This jackass was keeping some of them in TUPPERWARE.

Tbh I hope he dies or at least spends the rest of his life in gimpy misery.

An important thing to remember about how careless this idiot is, while South Carolina does allow you to keep venomous snakes , it also allow municipal governments to make ordinances regulating who can own them. So when he moved to South Carolina with all his "pets", he of course picked a town where it was not legal for him to have his collection.

Lmao check out that setup
How many snakes do you think he has in shoeboxes?
why would you go through all the trouble of getting all these exotic snakes to put them in tupperware containers

Speaking of live feeding, wasn’t there some big reptile channel that got into controversy when it was discovered that they did live feeding because the owner was a degenerate furry that got off on seeing mammals get eaten alive or something?
I wanna say one of the herpies connected to Bad Dragon, Varka maybe.

Exactly. "But why would you keep a pet if it doesn't care about you?"

Because I like how it looks and I like watching it explore the environment I created for it. Sometimes the animal not caring about you is a plus, not everyone likes taking care of what's essentially a toddler that never grows up. It's really a shame that the exotic animal community is infested top-to-bottom by retards that hoard the animals and treat them like status symbols.

I spent a summer in Rio.
They use their skin as condoms.
With fur or without? Legs or nah? Leave the heads on for extra pleasure. They're like you need a single, double, or chungus? The whole thing is so terrible, my gawd. Eating is one thing... but so disrespectful to use them for... that. Poor little fatties. They never deserved that treatment.

Any person who keeps snakes in tupperware tubs is by definition a cunt of a person. And sadly that's a pretty common thing amongst snake hoarders.

If you can't/don't/won't keep snakes in a proper terrarium, you shouldn't have snakes. If you do anyways, you're a cunt.

These people don't care about the animals, they just care about the clout and attention they for owning. Keeping animals in tupper ware containers in racks is a fucked up common practice in reptile keeping and they insist that the animals just love it, when that's obvious bullshit.

I believe how you treat powerless small animals says a lot about you as a human. I hope the fatass jew has fun with nonfunctioning kidneys.

For anyone wondering about the complexity of a reptile's neural processing compared to something similar to a human, I find this image is a good example:

and this is just for visual processing, not higher level functions.
