what lara lee said wasnt even bad, the actual HORRIFYING tweet was something like "here's a tip to black people, pull your pants up when you're running from police" :story:

the beauty community lets these faggots get away with murder. jeffree has said and done waaaaaaaay worse than lara lee. Hell, kat von D has done worse!! "Burn in hell jewbag", anyone? that time kat had her goons beat up someone because she didn't like them? That one was even on TV ffs

i dont think lara lee is talented with makeup so i'm not really bothered by her ~career being ended but the faux outrage is so tired.
I think the reason Jeffree survives controversy better is because he releases a statement and moves on. He doesn’t make an ass out of himself or try to play the victim.

Lara Lee’s apology video was hilariously histrionic, genuinely unhinged, and made her look infinitely worse than the original Tweets.

Gonna show off a bit of my powerlevel here with a story.

Years back around the time myspace was dying and facebook was starting to be a thing I remember going to a concert this shitstain performed at because I wanted to make sure my cousin was alright. She loved this guy's music and just overall his looks and saved up a bunch of money so we could both go since her mom wouldn't allow her to go without someone accompanying her. Fast forward to after the concert and he's doing signings and pics with fans and when my cousin came up, he took a picture with her and then made offhanded comments about her looking too trashy for the concert (mind you she was wearing makeup HE recommended.) but he wouldn't say much more because he was "in a good mood" mind you my cousin is only like 16 at the time so it hit her pretty hard. I told him to go fuck himself for being such an asswipe to a fan of his no less, and he just laughed it off saying "oh boo boo, I got hundreds of other little bitches like her" before he had his bodyguards escort us off. I hated this prick back in the days of myspace when his shitty music was spammed on every fucking profile and still do even now.

I've also heard similar stories from a few friends who went to his concerts or even approached him for an autograph in public, he would berate them for absolutely no reason and has even caught saying nigger freely towards people. It's no surprise that's still been engaged in drama all these years either.

Jeffree would stand onstage at Warped and scream nigger into the microphone. He's lucky he's so fucking old that most of his antics weren't caught on cameraphones or twitter (because those things didn't exist).

So an irrelevant MUA who got rejected by Jeffree's company (the one which makes merchandise) and because
Jeffree didn't do a collab with him, uploaded a video in which he talked about visiting a big youtuber who said
in front of him the n word and that was the last straw for their friendship.
It's false, two weeks after the so-called incident, he tried to communicate with Jeffree again.
Star dragged his ass on snapchat and on twitter. Star is so lucky! His haters are more lolcowy than himself.

Ok but can we talk about how the Supreme Frost pre-order shipments hace been delayed until October 19th? I ordered two and I'm dying to try them out.

sorry for the necro
but I discovered Star's new palette inspiration:

Your second image is broken for me.

But going by the first pic, it also looks like the ABH Moonchild palette, and a Paris Hilton(Lol) highlighter palette that I saw in a local outlet store. I thought this fad of colored highlighters/shifters was a thing like 2 years ago.

It looks so stupid. It's the kind of thing you MIGHT 'like' on an IG post and forget about immediately after. It has almost no practical utility. If you only wanted something like that to wear to raves or w/e I'd just get the Paris Hilton verison for 4.99

Five Below has a bunch of highlighting palettes like that for $4-5, too.

It's a screenshot from this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhZypXrRyRU&ab_channel=jeffreestar

It has really similar colors with the exact same name. But Focallure is about 7 euros and Star's about 60 I think.

This fad started from Moonray Palette from Dior, I know because I have it

I know I'm late on this, but I thought I'd add it to the thread anyway.

Jeffree's new Alien palette (released in November, I think) is a blatant rip-off of Hot Topic's Galactic eyeshadow palette.

Not only is the packaging identical, but some of the names of the eyeshadows are the same as well.

(I'll admit that the names of the eyeshadows might have been coincidences, since there are only so many space-related words to name the shades on your palette. However, no one can deny that the packaging of Jeffree's palette is basically a more high-quality carbon copy of Hot Topic's palette.)

This is coming from the same guy who called out Huda Beauty for stealing a smaller company's entire makeup concept, branding it as their own, and then ignoring anyone who pointed that out.

Once again, I know this is old news, but this just adds to the pile of things Jeffree has stolen/dumb shit he's done, just in case anyone still wasn't convinced of how much of a prick he actually is.

Maybe I'm just desensitized to myspace-tier drama but this is the funniest part of the OP by far

"No U" :story:
what kinda drugs is this guy on? how can he call men that enjoy sex with other men, straight? just cause they didn't want a relationship with him doesn't make the straight you moron
There are some dudes who just want to fuck ass and pretend it's not man-hole. Which is arguably different from an active attraction to the male body.

Hilariously I've been following this guy by proxy for almost a decade. Back when Myspace actually functioned a close friend was what would now be considered an "influencer" and would gossip about Jeffree's private antics (among others) constantly, and as much shit as he got into back then I'm really amazed that he exists at all today. I thought he would have killed himself one way or another by now.

In his defense, he was probably fucked up when he pulled his most outrageous stunts back in the day and he probably doesn't remember half the shit he did that he's now being called out on. It's also pretty garbage to try to drag him down by bringing up things his friends said when they were 15 year old kids on the internet. I would also say the MUA who called him out over the pube in her makeup pan was not as some people would like to believe simply looking for attention, knowing that before that time she was a superfan who had met J* at least twice before and had his logo shaved into the back of her head for him.

The packaging is very similar but the pallette colour scheme is very different.

The formulas that he uses for his makeup are way better than what you would find in other lines. His eyeshadows can survive sudden spring downpours and the liquid lipsticks really do stay on all day. While JS makeup costs more than what you find at the drug store (but is waaaaaaaay better quality), his line is also more affordable than a lot of what you find at Sephora (while still being waaaaaaaay better quality). Most of his customers don't care that someone else made an alien themed pallette as long as the one JS made is high quality, great formula, and relatively affordable.

Well rip-off is the wrong word here.
The packaging is very similar but at at the same time it makes the inspiration source clearer.
Nothing wrong with seeing a good idea/product and fixing it to make it what it should have been, as long as there is no chance of confusion between the products.

Yes, his products are usually very high quality, but if he wanted to "fix" someone else's idea, he could at least have given them credit for his inspiration. I highly doubt the Hot Topic palette was any good in terms of quality, but nevertheless, the idea behind it wasn't Jeffree's, and it would have been nice of him to mention that, even if his formula is much better.

That alien palette looks awful anyway. The gimmicky aesthetic isn't consistent with his brand. Also half the shadows looks like the same chalky gray or pale pink colors

I go back and forth between hating him and liking him. lol. I know he's been "problematic" so many times throughout the years, but I do find a lot of his videos funny and entertaining (especially in comparison to 99% of beauty videos these days). He's not boring AF when I watch him at the very least, which is definitely more than what I can say about most of the "beauty gurus" on YouTube.

I'm not at all interested in his eyeshadow palettes merely because I don't find the colors to be "wearable" for my tastes. I have been dying to try out his liquid lipsticks, though. Everyone has told me that they are bomb. So many colors on the website look gorgeous, too (Cherry Wet, 818, Candyass, and Redrum ... WANT). I'm still conflicted on whether I should finally buy some or not though.

On another note, I think the packaging for the Alien palette is hideous and tacky. And while the Northern Lights palette looks super pretty, I don't see myself using it a lot because of the crazy colors (mayyyybeeee as eyeshadow highlights?).

On another another note, I miss ye olden days of YouTube "beauty." 2008-2010 was the best time for beauty videos. I was a tomboy for most of my life, and then I wanted to dabble in makeup by my early 20s. I had no idea what the shit I was doing, and the older beauty videos on YouTube actually helped me out big time. There was something really charming about someone doing their own makeup on camera and teaching others how they did that specific look. It's a stark contrast to today, where EVERY beauty video is some kind of fucking commercial.

It's like daytime TV infomercials and all of the looks are either unwearable or hurtle into nightmare levels of intensity.
