I've been following this drama really closely.
So pretty much this other beauty guru named Gabriel (
Twitter) came for JS fans, calling them out on supporting a racist. Afterward a picture was posted of himself, Manny MUA, Laura Lee, and Nikita Dragun with the caption .. "Bitch is bitter because without him we're doing better." Which was an obvious dig at JS.
This pissed off JS fans and they began to dig, eventually bringing to light some controversial tweets:
Gabriel was called out on
his use of the N word, he was called a hypocrite and eventually ended up apologising to JS - he's been pretty irrelevant to this since.
Nikita had tweets pulled where she made jokes about
pedophilia, child abuse, and being so tan she looks black. Ended up posting a Snapchat apology where she basically says she's a "whole new person, literally I have a different fucking face." The fact that she's MTF was enough to calm people down, she got off relatively easy and is now also irrelevant to everything else that's going on.
Nothing was really dug up about Manny but he posted an
apology video anyway. He's not important.
The real juicy stuff is what's happening with Laura Lee. As you can guess she was also caught posting racist and fat shaming tweets. After she was caught she deleted her twitter and purged it of all the controversial tweets. Afterward she posted an apology.. it wasn't a good one.
She blamed the tweets on the fact that she grew up in a small town in Alabama, thus had no idea saying these things was racist. She "didn't have the racial awareness she does now." Both her and JS followers called bullshit and her follower count began to drop
significantly.
Before all this she had just reached 5 million followers as of July 31 - she's down to 4.7 million. Not to mention that Ulta decided to suspend the sell of her cosmetic line.
She posted her apology video yesterday, it was also not well received. She attempted to cry but failed, throughout the entire thing she shed
a single tear. She spoke in the most high pitched annoying crying voice, then suddenly would speak normally before going back to the squeak. Not to mention she refused to say the tweets were her own words, instead saying she "regreted retweeting" something racist. Her comment section is full of people telling her that she's a terrible actress, drama channels uploaded her video with the song "no tears left to shed" playing in the background.
Trisha Payta's even came for her. The like to dislike ratio on her apology vid is currently 43K likes to 360K dislikes.
As for the whole
bought subs thing, she most definitely did.
You can tell by the sudden spikes on her social blade. John Kuckian (a lolcow himself tbh) had a Livestream of Laura's social blade showing the erratic activity. Her numbers would drop, suddenly +20,000 subs would appear. Weird since SB updates subscriber count every 2 seconds. It was an obvious and sad attempt to stay at 5mil.
SB says she's lost over 200k subs since this whole thing came to light.
