Talking about Iconoclast.
Now seriously, why the frick lolcows come to the forums?
To get more ideas. I used all my best material
here, and the liberal pinheads I usually debate at my fav forum haven't come around lately. I think I was too rough on them. So I looked for a new watering hole.
If... you're dealing with somebody that only behaves like a child, don't you think it would be a better idea to not deal with them in the first place...?
If that were true, I'd never have become a journalist or sold lawnmowers. All my bosses have been childish mental defectives. I just have to learn to either deal with it, or figure out how to crush them. Forums like this sharpen my debating skills because I learn how to dodge every argument and wear down my opponent. I'm dealing with hard-core liberals at my old alma mater-- people I can't afford to lose with, people who are gunning for me, people who sincerely want to keep me down. They control resources I need, and I have to come up with a plan to take them. They've
sacrificed strength for grace, and I think that's the key to defeating them.
What exactly do "conservatives"...see in your comic?
Someone saying what they've always dreamed of saying but were always afraid to... the same thing my fans did back in my journalism days. They loved me, they lavished me with gifts every time I put out a new column. But my old bosses couldn't have that. A conservative, playing in their sandbox? Getting all the attention?
Nuh nuh nuh, we is not can has that. They came up with lame excuses to not run my cartoons, like telling me pencil lead won't show up on a scanner (which it will; I've scanned it thousands of times) excuses. Eventually they ran out of excuses and, cowards that they were, had to trump up a plagiarism charge to get rid of me.
People were talking about your technical skills.
No, they aren't. They're yammering on with laundry lists of complaints about the colors being too bright, or they don't like the position of the speech bubbles, or they can't follow the plot (maybe that says something more about
their ability to think being defective than any weakness on my part). I never had any formal training. I taught myself to draw largely from memory and what I saw on TV, like Kricfalusi. I don't use model sheets, either, The minimalist "stick figure" characters are a stylistic choice because, y'know, they're just funny. And don't blame me for that grotesque pink and green color scheme, that is what the real mall food court looked like in my day.
No wonder your girl left, she didn't want to languish in the 70's... Also a dude in college hitting on a junior in high school?
She phoned
me. Hey, I don't make the rules. That is how The System works. My girlfriend left me not because I was out-of-date, when I told her about a deep personal loss. Of course, once again, no one says one bad word against the girl--oh, no, she's not a heartless little whore, why, she's a feminist icon. Calling up random men to spank off is embracing her sexuality, and running out on men is empowering. The System strikes again.
You know why I didn't know about that remake?
No one saw it. It was crap. Dudley Moore was far funnier and more talented that some reality show d-bag could ever hope to be.
