I'm waiting on a response from the admin for the reasoning, but I think there had been less activity for a while now and this latest kerfuffle just made them realize it wasn't worth the trouble of keeping the forum going.
 
I'm sure Sweet will blame us for getting his precious hugbox shut down. I doubt he'll come back here, as he's a coward without a bunch of supporters at his back. We should stay vigilant for where ever he lands next.

Wonder if we'll have a small influx of posters from AJM? Surely Treenbeen and AJMinsider aren't the only ones curious about us.
 
I posted a longcat photoshop a minute ago, but it seemed too triumphalist. I don't feel triumphant.

I feel bad for most of the AJMers - they got caught in the crossfire between us and the coward Dr. Belch. That an online community that was celebrating its 10th anniversary should lose so much of its recorded history seems a shame. I know that most of the members will still meet up on Playstation network or Teamspeak, and this is at least some consolation.

Mostly I'm disappointed in myself - AJMStudios was the single greatest trove of Sweet's internet posts and I worry that I revealed my archival work too early. Now it can never be completed.

Thats a bit sad. Its a shame their insistence on tolerating Jon caused their whole fucking forum to die out. I don't think anyone here intended for this kind of result.

Indeed. All they had to do was just reign him in. When Sweet says something obviously provocative, it's easy to see, and can't be that hard to deal with. Would it have been that difficult to tell him to tone down the hateful rhetoric and unprovable conspiracy talk? We've seen plenty of evidence that he can make innocuous posts about snacks and cartoons. Why not do your job as a moderator and make sure he doesn't cause problems?

You did nothing wrong. This was inevitable, and it was all from their side. They wanted to sit quietly in the reference section of the library, enjoying their little latte and scones and decorum, while letting their rabid pet baboon run all over the place, scratching and biting people, getting upset when someone complained. In a way, they were just as impractical and in denial as Jon is.
 
Part of me hopes this means Iconoclast will come back here, but he'll more likely try to find another conservative forum (and hopefully get banned within a year).

Quite right about the latter. I have strong doubts he'll find another place as extraordinarily tolerant towards him as AJM Studios. Whether that means he'll come back here I don't know, but I expect hes somewhere writing up a scathing statement about how the Kiwi koalas are to blame for this.

Since most conservatives tend to be older, and very straight laced, I suspect their bullshit threshold will be a lot lower. Seriously, if Sweet starts posting about his fart fetish, or lusting after underaged girls, most conservative forums will swing the banhammer without a second thought. AJM put up with Sweet cause they were a lot younger than him and younger people are less set in their ways usually.

They would rather kill their own webforum than confront sweets.

Well within my predicted responses. Admittedly, it was a notably less likely outcome than them just banning you guys because they like the raging strawman because he matches their opinions, but this matches the MO of the other sites I've encountered with this type of staff. They can't take drama due to being too incapable to realize that you can make it go away by either hitting the red x or doing what you were assigned to do in a short five minute burst. Neither are hard, but they collectively lacked the will to do so.

My prediction is he'll likely flee to DeviantArt, to TvTropes if he is not banned, or to another webzone that he might have deep in his history. He's simplistic and predictable, he will be found within the week based on his utter inability to not stop caring about stuff that happened like 20 years ago.

Outcome: rather unlikely. They mostly seem to be super insular and were not supportive of our scrutiny. My prediction is they'll find a new zone most likely to chat. My experience with sites like this are that they'll regroup into a new area. Likely with a new name and everything.

If they do so, and in the event that our creep Sweets joins them; I advise those going into the fray as weens, investigators, and archivers to do so discreetly and silently if possible. They tend to be easily spooked and they will easily kill their new Zion if they feel threatened.

Doubtful. The only places that Sweet commonly kept in his raging assholery was the classroom, where he was likely told very bluntly that his behavior is not tolerable and will be punished. He's almost completely incapable of seeing how he's behaving is wrong, so it would take a firmness that I would not expect in anyone there. No offense to fellas like @Treenbeen and @AJMLurker ; Sweet needs to be smacked with the metaphoric lead pipe to understand things; he cannot read social cues and the like.

Well damn, I literally had no idea about what happened to the AJM forum until I came to this thread and saw Holdek's post at the top of the page.

This move by the admin is just as surprising to me as it is for you guys so I don't know the exact details behind why this happened. I will likely be dropping a line with AJM soon to discuss this though. All I know this is huge step taken by the admin, but the AJMers definitely did feel uncomfortable with the attention their forum was getting. They never were able to fully accept that you guys were archiving posts on the site, even if it was just Sweet Bro's material.

Well, I hope Jon is happy. He just lost his favorite forum to post at.
 
If he tries to join the new incarnation of AJM, they should ban his ass ASAP (ASSAP?).
 
Really, I can't say that I'm surprised. It became evident over the past month or two that Sweetums was either going to tear them apart or get banned.

I'm honestly wondering where Sweetums will go now. There's no way that he'll be able to go completely dark. Since he does the same shit over and over and over, it shouldn't take too long to find him.
 
So I was googling "Dr. Belch" to see if he has an account somewhere else we haven't found, and it turns out there's actually a lot of real doctors with the surname Belch out there. Nevertheless, I found a couple things I don't think have been posted:

-His posts on some Three Stooges forum. Mostly on topic, although there's a few political rants about liberal fartknockers in there.
-A summary page for the Kiwi thread on AJM. Don't know how useful this is, since all the links go back to the board, but maybe something can be salvaged?
-His Yahoo Answers account, in which he projects like a fucking IMAX:

Sort of. Sweet had stayed relatively quiet recently, actually, but some of the other members were concerned that we were "monitoring" everything they wrote, despite others telling them otherwise. They never understood that Sweet was the sole focus for us reading past threads, or the concept of "public databases" (they thought we were being super-hackers finding that arrest warrant stuff, then I pointed out that it was the highlighted link on the Jonesboro Police Department web page).

Still, if these were the only concerns they could have just banned the Kiwis, so I think it was a culmination of things and they were just tired of the drama.

Also most conservatives don't care about the TV ratings system that much, or any of Sweet's personal problems that he complains about under the guise of politics.
