The storm is still gaining strength, unbelievably. And check out the forecast up to next Friday. This will have to be a storm of epic proportions given its not moving anywhere for a week.

Hearing news on social media (and from what friends and family have told us) that the high school in Rockport has been leveled, iconic beach art and sculptures have been destroyed, and major businesses have sustained massive structural damage. The major was just on Fox News describing the state of Rockport. It's not pretty.

edit: The police station and neighboring courthouse have also been destroyed.

It's a sure bet that my partner and I are homeless now. I will be genuinely surprised if we can even save so much as the front fucking door. We've already had "that talk" since I made my first post in this thread.

Thats so tough to hear. What can be said? This storm became a monster that I don't think anyone can grasp the power it now is.

As for @Broseph Stalin he seemed to think he was fine, he wasnt in mandatory zone, but when that was designated, it wasn't expected to be as severe as it is. I don't know exactly where he is, but assume he is near CC, maybe north/west? I don't think he is too near the main damage area. Also over 70,000 without power now.

NWS issued its rainiest 7-day forecast ever. Up to 40” rain from San Antonio to Houston will create a Katrina-scale flood.

Holy shit, I am so sorry :( If there's anything we can do to help, just let us know. We sent a care package to Chris after his house burned down, I'm sure a lot of people on here would be happy to help a fellow Kiwi.

I really hope that you've been able to take all of your family memorabilia and any pets with you if nothing else. Those tend to be the things that people grieve about losing worst of all.
 
Update on Jeff "Biggest Balls in Texas" Piotrowski: He went to the parking lot of a Walmart and is currently on the eat side to block the wind. He found a trucker who was stranded and they are using the truck to try and block the wind. He went radio slient about an hour or two ago.
