Also we should pray for Pixy. If she gets washed out to sea, she may be at risk for Japanese harpoons!

A lot of the people who die here from the flooded roads are international students, carpetbaggers, or Mexicans. They see native Texans effortlessly cruising through flooded roads in lifted F-150s and Silverados, and think they can do the same with their dinky little four door sedans and soccer mom SUVs and minivans with three inch ground clearance.
Good.

Stupid me was wondering why there were so many flood gauges in Houston.
Austin Kiwi here, hope you guys closer to the coast stay safe, as well as anyone else that ends up being affected. Brace yourselves.

Landfall tonight, 125+ MPH winds, 35+ inches of rain. Might stall out until Tuesday.

Alright, so this storm is pretty tame from where I am (Corpus Christi here). The Weather Channel is being sensationalist as fuck with this whole thing at the moment. Some cuck was holding up a downed palm leaf like it was a big deal. Bitch please, that happens all the time with dead palm leaves in the wind.

So far things are good where I am. No flooding but I'm expecting the power to get knocked out soon. Currently there are ~26000 people without power, so it's only a matter of time before it happens to me.

Explains why the hurricane force winds are still off the coast.
Hence this map:

That'll change though.

I hope it goes well for you man. That sucker is getting pretty strong. You getting any high winds yet? If not, you will be soon.

Yeah naw I counted my chickens too soon. Wind is picking up a lot and it's just as the news announced that Harvey is a Cat 4.

Been gone from the Farms because I've been busy evacuating. Partner and I are safe, but the storm is set to make landfall pretty much spot-on where we live. We're being optimistic, but I feel like neither one of us wants to be the first to acknowledge that we probably will not have a home to return to. We both just sort of "know" it, and for better or worse accept that.

Oh no, had no idea someone was in that danger area. Main thing you are out safe for sure, hope your home doesn't suffer too much. But yes, it does look very strong.

Looks like the worst will be east and north of CC. But you will get winds of up to 100mph. Over 40000 without power in CC. Rockport appears like it may be doomed.

The city manager of Rockport said that if anyone was still there to ride out the storm, they need to put their social on their arms. Jesus fucking Christ, that's some dark shit.

Thats the problem with how the Weather Channel has been these past few years. Every year. 'STORM OF THE CENTURY" shit and when you say it too much people become numb to it and don't give a shit when shit like this happens

Yikes. Hope it turns out all right.
