In my senior year at university, and planning ahead for doing my Masters. Im just so burnt out and drained to be honest. I know I cant complain since my university schedule doesnt even compare to someone working full time, but it's like im drained of all willpower and motivation.
This morning im told I have another Academic hold on my account, meanwhile im balancing 4 classes at once and my attendence is terrible.
Its just soul sucking, to be honest
Hang in there. And you can complain - your situation is yours, so comparing to others is only helpful if it helps you. Otherwise, try just to dig down into your own.
And bear with me here, but would it possibly help you to have a couple more obligations - like a very PT job or regular volunteer commitment or some 1-credit class that is more physical than academic? Depends on the person/ personality, but I've found I perform better and meet my mundane obligations better when my schedule is both busy and varied. And I see the same in my (university-attending) kids, to a significant degree. Short version: a busier schedule can encourage engagement and efficiency...which in turn can spark more energy and motivation. Sometimes - and again, this may be person-specific - having more to do can create a momentum and a higher base-level of energy and interest.
That said, consider talking to someone at your school's mental/emotional health center. Doesn't mean you're crazy or critically malfunctioning, and I'm not saying it will solve life. But an hour or few of getting things off your chest or collaborating on things can be relieving and eveninspiring. May be useless, maybe not. But you've got a lot at stake, and especially if you're aiming for more schooling, better to see if you can sort it out sooner rather than later.
Also going to recommend the old faithfuls of assessing your eating habits, sleeping regularly, physical movement, and looking at whether there are any habits or patterns that suck you in or decrease motivation.
But for real: The attendance factor is concerning. Regardless of the % it may or may not count toward your grade, missing class, even if you can watch video replays, is typically going to hurt your performance because you are less engaged, and will also probably ratchet up the stress or lack of motivation when exams or projects roll around. If it does count toward your grade, you are missing out on an easy check-the-box 10 or 2 or whatever percent. And even if it does not, if you're not there, and not attending office hours or meeting with the professor occasionally, then if things ever come down to a borderline grade, you've lost that benefit of the doubt.
