Just come on over here to the good ol' Kiwi farms and call someone a nigger to blow off some steam.
Gonna be honest, this site tends to stress me out more than relax me, lol. I just use it cause I don't have much else going on in my life and most of my preferred online spaces died due to political conflict or the takeover of algorithm.

I can't help but be interested in my African culture, but I feel bad taking pride in that so ig I'll just read up on Poppy Playtime lore instead.

I'm not doing great, to be honest. My mother is extremely overprotective, and I have honestly reached my breaking point. It's like I have no point of living anymore. I live in a rural area, so I don't have any friends in real life to talk to, but yet I'm not allowed to make a YouTube channel or any social media to talk to people online because of pedophiles.
your mom is not doing a good job of protecting you if you’re not allowed to be on YouTube but she lets you on the damn kiwifarms

I'm beginning to sense a pattern. If I drink an energy drink, or a cup of coffee for that matter, my anxiety spikes and I find myself ruminating more easily.
Story of my life. I’m super sensitive to caffeine ever since I fucked up my blood pressure. I had one small bottle of Pepsi max yesterday and now I remember why I always usually go with coke lol.

Other than that I really need to find some new music to relax/fall asleep to. Youtube's algorithm thinks I want to listen to snowfall and only that in playlists that may or may not be curated by people using AI. As good as Snowfall is, even on multiple listens throughout an average day, it's not my favourite type of music. I can't keep listening to Animal Crossing New Leaf 1AM and 4AM either. Maybe it's time to return to Skyrim night ambience.
I can highly recommend Hammocks ambient Far Cry 5 soundtrack, Keep Your Rifle By Your Side is my favorite. Ooh, and Whirling in Rags 12 PM from Disco Elysium

I am actually looking to get a hat in the near future. I have a nice felt hat I kind of like, but years ago when I got it I made the dreadful mistake of getting it in black and it just absorbs all the heat, terrible. I need to become a white-hatted wizard reflecting all the light at passers by.

Boss was apologetic about my resignation and admitted to not having had put in the time to make sure we worked out, which we wouldn't have under any circumstance. He said I did good work and I don't see it, which makes it even worse. Knowing I could've done good work if I wasn't unnerved by every little interaction after months of berating.

My old boss sounded open to inviting me back but I have to apply properly due to it being a public position. Apparently people are dropping like flies so a position should open soon. I only have to survive 1.5 weeks, then I'm alone in the office for one, another one off, and partially alone for one. Then I can call in sick for 2 days and drop in to leave my items.

I'll be telling my coworkers today, hopefully they'll lose interest in pushing me for things and just wait for me to leave.
Allegedly, an energy drink will stay in your body for a week. As in, all of those chemicals and additives that makes an energy drink have an effect on your body won't be fully flushed out of your system for a week.
Coffee got a half-life of 4 hours so you shouldn't drink any past 2pm and yet people take pride in drinking it at 9pm and claiming it also doesn't affect them, so.. why?
It's only been three and a half weeks since I succumbed to being a NEET and I already feel like Ben from Dr. Katz. I have exhausted all of my hobbies and have no idea how to fill any of this newfound spare time.
I can't bring myself to play anything after work. Sometimes getting up early in the weekend, I can put a few hours in, but it just doesn't feel worthwhile, yet I've nothing else. I like reading but I finish a book and just kinda go "Oh". Especially if I have to be unemployed for a few months I need to find shit to do. Prime time to join a club of sorts but I know that ain't happening.

Well, my cat is still missing and it's not looking good, but considering how fat the local stray cats are I hope he just found somebody else to stay with. Hopefully.
I hope your cat comes back. I had a similar situation a couple months ago and I was in a state of absolute despair but she came back.

Cats sometimes double dip.

... I also take heart medication
Yeah. No. No energy drinks
If you have heart issues you should be nowhere near energy drinks
Mr.Chef is correct. Put the energy drinks down. Totally. There is zero good in them
Well, sometimes I have heart palpitations but it's not every day and they never catch them during exams.
As above. No energy drinks. And caffeine affects everyone - it binds to adenosine receptors in the brain, and without caffeine, adenosine builds up through the day, making you sleepy after a while. Caffeine binds those receptors competitively making people less sleepy. Energy drinks affect your heart rate, and the last thing you want to do if youre on minoxidil is do that. Also antidepressants can also have subtle effects on heart rhythm, so you’re layering effects. Don’t drink energy drinks.
Rosemary oil mixed into shampoo is almost as effective as minoxidil for women btw.

Closed on a place today. Nothing special, small condo. But it feels amazing to be paying to own rather than to make some other schmuck a few dollars richer while being able to kick me out at any point because the next sucker will pay more.

decaf tastes like ass, I hate it. Better to just avoid it entirely and make it a maximum once a month thing, like I already do with takeout food for example.
Just gotta have an actual backbone, which is something I could stand to develop as a general thing.
Surprisingly, I like decaf, but I "need" my caffeine so I don't have decaf.
Maybe, my parents always limited my energy drink consumption to like once a month. I never got why, they said "It's bad for you" but when I asked "why?" they would say "It just... Is.". Either way, they stopped caring now and I just have them whenever. But maybe they were onto something.
A few things I can name off the top of my head are that it can lead to heart/blood pressure issues, kidney issues if you're not drinking enough water, and if you're drinking all sorts of weird flavours I'm pretty sure those aren't good for you for various reasons. Artificial sweeteners aren't great either. As far as I know they can have some negative impact on your gut bacteria and I remember reading at some point that there might be some slightly elevated risk for certain types of cancers related to them? Of course, this all probably depends on a lot of factors like how much you are consuming, what you are consuming. For most healthy adults they're probably "safe enough", but consuming them isn't exactly healthy.
When you're a teen, or even worse a kid, energy drinks are a big no-no since they're dosed for proper adult bodies. A kid's tolerance for caffeine will be lower than an adult. And especially considering how little self control kids have with drinking sweet things, it's easy for them to overdose on the stuff and even die. There have been cases.
Wait is it really that bad? What if I drink one like once a week? I usually dilute it (do NOT judge me) and it lasts 2/3 days... I also take heart medication or blood pressure or whatever (but it's actually for my hair) so I guess I'm going to die?
As others have said, mixing energy drinks and blood pressure medication is a really bad idea. Don't do it.
Well, sometimes I have heart palpitations but it's not every day and they never catch them during exams.
Yeah I would stay away from any energy drinks if I were you.
Just like everything else in life, moderation is key.
Indeed! Although when it comes to artificial sweeteners I do believe they are just straight up bad and should be avoided.
Also when it comes to caffeine, something to keep in mind, iirc it has a half life of 4-8 hours or something, and iirc it can take a whole day to be completely processed and eliminated. So if you're consuming caffeine daily that's something to keep in mind. Have to mind your dose based on your body size and how long it takes to process so you don't end up accumulating more and more caffeine day after day. For adults a safe dosage is under 400-500mg a day. But if you're having say 300mg a day but your body is not processing all of that in a day, you could end up after a few days with more than 500mg in your body.
Caffeine also constricts blood vessels, so if you're having it daily and then quit cold turkey, as the blood vessels in your brain dilate back to their normal size you'll get nasty headaches from it.

Rosemary oil mixed into shampoo is almost as effective as minoxidil for women btw.
Wait really? And I could use both of them for better results? I don't think I can use oils on my scalp though, my hair its too thin and gets oily after a day, even with good shampoo.

Dad used to love music and I used to find song he particularly liked to stimulate his memory but eventually music just depressed him and he no longer seemed to like to guess the artist or tell me about a song.
Dementia is cruel, sometimes he's there and sometimes he's not but this morning while I was cleaning the kitchen I was playing "The Fallout playlist" which is just music mostly from the late forties and early fifties. Today dad is really clued into the music and he is telling me all about the artists and I get to impress him by looking up facts which he never knew.
Did you know that Peggie Lee sued Disney over the VHS release of Lady and the Trap because she didn't get the royalties she was owed? I didn't either.

It’s a DHT blocker (like minoxidil is?)
You don’t put it neat on your skin though. Do not use any essential oil neat on skin. Just mix six or so drops in with your shampoo and rub it in well, let it sit for ten mins then rinse off. It doesn’t make your hair greasy. I used it after I’d had kids and when o was really stressed and sick and my har was coming out in clumps and it certainly worked well for me.
Hair loss in women can be a combo of nutritional deficiency and hormones - make sure your iron levels are OK, too low and your hair will not grow no matter what you do.
And for men? It's not like i'm getting bald or anything... Heh, not me...

Nope, no bald issues here, just asking for a friend
I don’t know about for men tbh.
Some essential oils have oestrogenic activity (tea tree oil for example is a no for kids) but rosemary I don’t think does, it may have the opposite effect. It’s a DHT blocker. Can’t hurt to try, it’ll take several weeks to see an effect, but I firmly believe it’s good for your hair.

I got extensive blood work done (my dermatologist told me to) and the only issue is high cholesterol lol ! I think my alopecia is due to stress and me constantly touching my hair, it's a really bad habit.

As for men, I'd say the safest bet is using minoxidil twice a day (you must see a doctor if you have heart issues, but other than that, minoxidil is the only medication I am aware of that doesn't give you moobs and erectile dysfunction). I'd recommend the foam because the pills can lower your blood pressure too much, and the liquid can irritate the scalp. Women have more options unless they want to get pregnant in the next 6 months.

Buuuutttt I am not a medical professional, just someone that's been going bald for 10+ years.

There is nothing wrong with taking pride in your heritage. If it brings you comfort, why wouldn't you seek it out? Plus, it's important to learn something every day.
If you have an idea of where you come from, why not research it? I know I would. Frankly, I think we should take more interest in where we come from. Whether that be through researching your family tree, the country your family tree originates from or even something like your childhood town/city.

It's okay to be black. You're not a nigger, that much has been established whenever I read your posts.
There are niggers in every race, toobz.

I'm not allowed to go off to college because I might get murdered. I'm not allowed to get a job because my mom doesn't want mean people yelling at me and doesn't want me away from her. I mean, what's the point of doing anything anymore? I don't even want to wake up anymore. I'm almost 21, but yet I'm treated like a little kid, and I have no way of leaving home. Please feel free to suggest ways I can improve my life; I want life to get better.

If anyone else had overprotective parents, I would appreciate advice for dealing with them. Some people are going to suggest getting a job, and I know getting a job is a huge step in the right direction, but I'm afraid to ask my mom about it.

I also have mother who is overbearing and let me tell you this, you need to start acting like an adult in order to be treated like one. You are no longer a minor and if you want to get a job and go out in the world you have to make your mother let go. Getting a job would be a great start for standing on your two feet. Still take appreciation in the fact that she cares and take her advice with a grain of salt but don't take it as biblical fact. Respectfully maintain your boundaries and wishes as an adult or she will never see you as one.

Avoid energy drinks, they are so terrible for you.

Closed on a place today.
I did so too, recently. Home improvement is fun! You learn a lot about so many new things because there's always a project to do. And suddenly, Lowe's and Home Depot are your two favorite places on earth.

Get ready for a shit ton of scam mail. Mortgage information is public, and new homeowners apparently get lots of scam mail. Like, yeah, it's my FINAL NOTICE to make sure my home warranty is current. It was the final notice 10 fuckin' letters ago, my man. And I don't have a home warranty, so fuck off.
