I find it funny that with the new good boy movie coming out people refuse to see it because they are worried or scared to see a dog hurt or distress. Hell they even had to come out and say the dog does not get hurt.
Does the Dog Die, which started as a site solely focused on letting people know if the dog in the movie dies are not, are proof that people are just soft as hell when it comes to animals. If your night is soured by an animal pretend dying in a fictional story, you are just as stunted as people afraid of clowns.

Good Boy sounds really interesting and I'll be making a rare trip to theaters to see it.

But when weapons came out a month ago. Nobody was worried or scared about kids being hurt or in distress and nobody came out in early screenings to warn about child abuse.
As a fan of Italian horror movies I welcome warnings if a dog is going to die or not..

I don't like dogs dying in horror films because it sets me on edge IRL. When a film gets under my skin you can always go "My dog would protect me and wake me up". If the monster targets dogs then your back up strategy is fucked and that's a few nights restless sleep.

tbf there's a LOT of territories where the "special effect" for killing the animal is "film the animal being killed", too
I should have clarified that this refers to films produced in industrialized nations within the past twenty years. I was unduly harsh and broad.

Milo and Otis really, really upsets me. I Am Legend does not.

Was pajeet night on kiwifarms movie night and ended up watching a butch of pajeet rip offs.

Here is a hightlight from the SIlence of the Lambs rip off

Also is a rip off of An American Werewolf in London called Junoon. But instead of turning into a Werewolf he turns into a Weretiger

Both were awful, but was fun to be had laughing at them. So they are better than 99.99% of other pajeet movies.

Milo and Otis
Man the early 90s were a different time. No one batted an eye when the tiny dog fought the bear in the river or the cat was thrown off a massive cliff into the rocky waters. Then there's the original Japanese cut...

Can't imagine how many animals were culled making that movie. Look how many retakes are needed to get a scene right with trained actors, now imagine doing it with animals instead.

I got around to watching the chucky TV series for the hell of it after marathoning all the movies. The series puts an enormous ammount of eggs in the "Feel bad for the protagonist because he's a faggot. His dad doesn't like that he's a genetic dead end, the other kids make fun of him, he's awkward, etc."

Like I'm sorry dude, I just don't feel bad that you're a faggot, find a new angle to milk for sympathy points.

Even if he wasn't gay, he's unlikable because he's a retard, a source of drama between him and his dad is that he's a wanna be artist and his father keeps telling him "You won't be able to pay the bills you retard." It also doesn't help that the father is overworking himself to support himself and his son and the son wants to go to a 1500$ "art camp" which his dad can't afford.

It also really doesn't help that every other male character is a faggot and keeps lusting after older men. (Writer is gay so a bit of a self report I guess)

Chucky also deciding to take pity on the faggot protagonist and protect him from his bullies by doing standup comedy? Wtf is this, chucky protecting someone from bullies? Is this a chucky series or a self insert fanfic?

Anyway appart from that, I feel the series fails at both things chucky and child's play are good at.

1.) The Child's Play series isn't really scary, but its great at building tension, you know chucky is going to strike, but you don't know how and you don't know when. A lot of the direction surrounding chucky's kills is just buildup toward the main event. By contrast a lot of chucky's kills in this are super fast with little to no buildup, so there's not a lot of catharsis when he actually does it because it never lets tension build.

The dad kill, the housekeeper kill, the random cop, from setup, to buildup, to execution, they all last like 20 seconds. There's no tension or buildup.

2.) And on the other hand, the Chucky series isn't even horror, its just character comedy around charles being a crass little fucker that gets off on serial killing, but chucky is barely in the series about chucky. You see him for like 3 minutes per 40 minute episode, so Dourif can't even riff as chucky which is the sole reason I'm watching a series called chucky.

The series tries to take the format of curse and cult, where chucky murders everyone around a specific person, leading everyone to go "Wtf why does everyone around this guy keep dying".

But it doesn't work because the braindead protagonist KNOWS chucky is doing it and constantly talks with chucky. There's no fucking mystery around "The doll did it", we know the doll did it, the main character knows the doll did it, he's just too stupid to realize that the fucking mass murdering serial killer is gonna turn on him.

They want to do "Chucky brainwashes person into becoming a killer" from cult, but again, it doesn't work because in cult the person chucky was pushing Nica to kill was the doctor raping her while she was in a mental asylum and drugged up/hypnotized, whereas the protagonist here is just some annoying faggot too stupid to realize that the fucking serial mass murdering rapist isn't his friend. Worst part is they do it again later with much better setup and they only had to waste half the fucking episodes to do it.

The worst part is that a recipe for a much better show was right fucking there. Andy and Kyle hunting down Chucky Dolls while Tiffany and Nico do their voodoo freaky friday bodyswap bullshit, with the charles doll corrupting junior and his grand plan.

Throw in the chucky backstory flashbacks and THERE, you got a good fucking show. Its insane that the worst part about this show is the main characters.

I'm just dissapointed, because this series is 90% dud and 9% mid and 1% chucky, its just fucking boring, something the chucky franchise even at its worst NEVER was.

Also, what's the point of splitting shitface in two if you're gonna make one of the twins non binary anyway??? That's like wanting to have your cake and fuck it too.

Have any of these movie to TV series horrors worked? I can't remember one making a successful transition.

Playing Dead Island 2 is quite creepy. The zombies all look like they belong in old Italian zombie films and remind me of the Zombi cover. Really quite disgusting with the damage the models take.

That wasn't a case of it not working, that was a case of intentional sabotage. They had a perfectly fine supernatural horror with a comedic edge, and then decided to waste 30 minutes of each episode on literally gay melodrama instead of the fucking voodoo doll that murders people.

A lot of the backstory is a mess. The younger brother of the director claimed in a Japanese magazine animal cruelty and other crazy shit

A follow-up on 20 October 1998 included anonymous staff testimony supporting his claims, such as anesthesia overdoses, cliff-throwing, proposed surgical interventions on animals including sewing piglets together.

I appreciate your sacrifice in sitting through this and confirming what I figured just by seeing there was a Chucky TV series. Actually it's probably even worse than I had assumed just from having the faggotry in the forefront.

They're remaking Anaconda!
Using the name for a generic Jack Black comedy movie. Because the world needs more unfunny garbage right?

The Anaconda movies have always been retarded as hell and leaning into dark comedy could have worked, but this looks like it's marketed toward middle schoolers. Also how do these snakes look worse than the old animatronic ones?

As a snake owner the Anaconda movies have kind of bothered me with how inaccurate they are but it's all goofy fun I guess

The last movie ended on a cliffhanger and I'd like resolution but I've never even heard of anyone who likes the TV show so eh guess I'll never know what happens.

Well I liked Ash vs Evil Dead. Then you got your Freddy's Nightmares and your Friday the 13th (sorta).

Again angry they ruined something that I didn't really like in the first place.

I meant modern sequels or spin offs not the old anthology stuff. I didn't like Ash VS Evil Dead but I'm not an evil dead fan outside of Bruce Campbell's chin.
