Let me list the 10+ killer rodent movies that I know about. Those are fun.

There's like Ben, Willard and...Zombeavers? Attack of the Giant Shrews (are shrews rodents? I'll have to look that up). There's a giant rat movie I'm missing out on, but I can't remember the name.

Edit - Shrews are, indeed, NOT rodents. So I'm down to 3 plus one I can't remember the name of.

I just want more slashers, that's it. I don't even care if they're bad, I like bad slashers, but it seems like people don't care much for the genre anymore. I know X, MaXXXine and Pearl were successful, and there have been some smaller ones that have come out recently (Thanksgiving, Heart Eyes, In A Violent Nature, the Terrifier movies, Smile 1 & 2 etc.) but I guess I'm just being greedy. I just want to go back to the whodunit slasher craze of the early 2000s and prior. They scratch an itch in my brain that no other sub-genre does.
Scream was a double-edged sword in that the self-awareness resulted in slashers being seen as a joke of the horror genre. Internet reviewers pointing out the dumb decisions characters make along with how "problematic" slashers are just more insufferable versions of Randy Meeks.

I watched Lake Mungo the other day on advice of a stranger. One of the worst movies I have seen, incredibly dull. It is in the style of a mockumentary which made it even worse.
Told the guy he had female movie taste right after.

I’ve heard mixed things about Nosferatu (2024), might watch that later.

There's also Deadly Eyes,Rats - Night of Terror, and the two Food of the Gods movies. I know there's others, but those are just off the top of my head.

Yeah rats night of terror is some nice ita slop
There was some made for TV looking thing about people in a simulation of the end of the world that turns out to probably not be a simulation, iirc at one point bats getting in to their sealed-ish place is a big deal and the crew is obviously dumping boxes full of bats down the shoot just off camera

Made for TV end of the world movie reminded me of The day after and Theads. Both got made for TV in the early 80s, The day after was done by ABC in 83 and Threads was done by the BBC in 84 I think.

I think that's Chosen Survivors - the people are in a fallout shelter and there's vampire bats in there with them. I think it got a BluRay release from Kino Lorber.

ok here's the Monsters episode with superintelligent rats, "Stressed Environment"

I never liked Tales from the Darkside but I always watched an hour of Monsters on the Sci Fi channel after school.

That's one of my favorites. Couldn't even tell you why, maybe I like the idea of little tribes of rats with little villages going around killing people.

Or, you watched that episode of Captain Planet and was subconsciously inspired.

I forgot how much that show sucked. I knew it's message was shit when my hippy mom said it was stupid.

No, I want little tribes of rats killing people lead by rat man Jeff Goldblum.

This was absolutely not on par with either of those.
To be fair, literally nothing is.

Of Unknown Origin is kind of a rat horror movie.

Also the final segment of the anthology movie Nightmares from 1983.

For Earth Day, I ended up watching The Guardian from 1990 by William Friedkin. Some killer druid chick becoming a nanny to sacrifice children to a tree.
I don't know what to say, it was just mostly by-the-numbers and boring for the concept. I just didn't give a shit about any of the characters. There's some great gore involving the tree itself, especially when it dispatches a trio of super on-the-nose punks.
But yeah, just such a forgettable film for a guy like Friedkin to make. I know he didn't always make winners but come on... The Exorcist and Bug are classics. I still need to watch Killer Joe because I heard that was pretty good.

I didn't get around to it but I also need to watch Contamination .7 (also known as Troll 3). Killer vine movie I've been needing to check out for a while.
