An American Werewolf In L.A.

1984. Hell’s Creek.

When you're about to leave hometown in your convertible to become a professional surfer in Los Angeles, Clementine Naschy, your high school girlfriend, decides to run away with you. However, Sheriff Naschy will not allow his daughter to waste her life with a freak like you, so he will do whatever it takes to prevent you from reaching Los Angeles.

• Incarnates David Landis, a young werewolf, in his desperate run for freedom.
• Use your multiple hits and your dodge and regeneration skills to face more than 10 different types of enemies.
• Fight through five unique levels with your own combat strategies.
• Play solo or with a friend in local cooperative. Use touch controls or controllers!
• Relive classic arcade games of the 80s in a game that pays tribute to movie genre references John Landis, Paul Naschy and Rick Baker.
• A playable spiritual successor to the '80s classic "An American werewolf in London".
Could this be the video game that Naschy-o-maniacs have been clamoring for? It does have more than 10 different types of enemies (possibly 11).

The first silent hill movie honestly now looks like a masterpiece, only because of how bad modern horror is.

The way they recreated the atmosphere of the games is *chef's kiss*

I like the first Silent Hill movie. I would say it's the best video game to movie adaptation as low bar as that might be.

The fact they went with the original music from the game showed they had at least some of sense of what they were doing. Radha Mitchell and Laurie Holden are easy on the eyes too in that movie so that was a nice bonus. I remember watching Silent Hill in the theatres and the atmosphere, music and all around not terrible CGI made it a very enjoyable experience. A movie I don't mind watching again from time to time when I'm in the mood.

Just watched the Taiwanese movie The Sadness really liked it. It's probably the closest thing we'll get to a live action adaptation of the comic series Crossed.
The thing I love about Chinese movies is that no matter how serious or gruesome they are there's always a jokey scenes inserted randomly in every Chinese movie I've seen. Even in Men Behind the Sun series, the movies about the Japanese WW2 atrocities.

I don't know why the movie was bashed so hard when it came out.

Even less so, how it got a sequel (that was absolute shit)
Assuming you mean Silent Hill. I don't know. I think the faggots that loved the games shat on it super hard and then changed their tone when the sequel came out and showed them what an actual bad video game adaptation of Silent Hill looks like.

It could be, because holy shit that sequel was a huge mistake and I don't know how it got made, but I remember people being super fucking harsh on Silent Hill, as if it wasn't a better adaptation and/or movie than Resident Evil.

For the people who wanna see a mindless movie with some good gore, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022). I went in with the complete expectation that it was gonna be bad, extremely bad. I was pleasantly surprised that they stuck to the campy nature of the genre. Make unlikable characters, have said characters be butchered in brutal ways. Yup, I can live with that on a Sunday evening.

We talked about that POS several pages ago, Speedy Gonzales.

as a former lorefag, yes, I hated how it half-assed the perfectly fine story of the first game in favor of "evil Christians", but it was the mainstream critics who gave it poor reviews because there was a strong bias against video game movies back then(SH fanbase was relatively niche comparing to RE). And since the franchise turned to dirt anyway, many fans now look back to this movie with fondness because Christophe Gans clearly had more appreciation for the first three games than Homecoming and Downpour devs.

Christophe Gans is a great fucking director. His Crying Freeman live action adaptation is criminally underrated and should be up there with click bait lists of the "Actual good animation to live action adaptations" and the like.

I heard he was working on another Silent Hill movie.
