Plasmium overdose for this area if you are like me and shit at platforming. The area is short and mostly relies one one technique, the suffering comes from the enviroment damage and struggle to heal. It'll make it far more forgiving. I recommend druid eyes and weavelight for the section with platform enemies so you can clawline a bunch. You hardly need to pogo, so the architect crest is nothing to worry about. The drill solves that too!
My dumb ass launches the silk line right into the spike wall sometimes, so the extra health/ability to recover would probably be a boon for me too.

Just need to get gud again and stop being a filthy casual lol

I unironically love that gauntlet but I can see people shitting on it even though the second trial in the colosseum is longer and harder.
Looking back on it after beating it, I just really hate the clappers. They're a tanky enemy with 2 mask damage attacks (and 2 mask contact damage but that's another can of worms) that can very easily cover large amounts of the arena with their attacks - they're also completely bitchmade and have the same AI as the flying enemies that back off if you try to get close to them, only to suddenly lunge forward to make you eat shit.

Also, the Broodmother is the worst-designed boss in the game and I don't think Act III is going to change my mind. Crosses out every box except for runback distance, but there's still a mini gauntlet before fighting her.

Oh dawg, same. I spent a lot of time there, just launching myself into spikes. Another thing I found helpful was to use the cling grip dash as the first jump over the floating walls. It sets you up really nicely for first air dash and is far more consistent than trying to jump over the spike ledges. If people haven't used it, when you dash up a wall it can also launch you over the edge. Once you get to the room with the floating imoba bugs, it's far easier!

I honestly hated the broodmother because of her stupid charge attack and tiny arena, before I realized I could dodge her charge easily by using the wall jump.

I mean, I was doing that too. The problem was that she would:

1) Shit out adds constantly that I *had* to deal with
2) Attempt to stun me with her spit
3) Leap, miss, and instantly recover into her flying state to hit me anyways because she's literally the size of the arena wall, and there is no way that I found to predict if she's going to keep lunging or only do one attack

When I beat her it was because I quit even trying to approach her normally and instead either pogo'd her leaps for silk or used cross stitch to deal damage. Very fun and engaging gameplay style

I heard there were some secrets that can only be found if you got certain endings in the first game, but I don't want to search for it and get spoilers. So can anyone tell me if that's true or fake? Because I really don't want to get all achievements in Hollow Knight just to get the complete experience in Silksong.

Complete bullshit, to my knowledge.

Finished the game, at last. Took me 56 hours. Whoever designed Act 3 deserves to be shot and playtest it again. Too much Dark Souls and gauntlets, and Act 3 has a boss with like 3 gauntlets one after the other. Not sure how videogame "critics" managed to finish this one, if at all. Act 3's final boss commits the beginner mistake of blending with the background (unless it was made to be harder, derp), a thing that also happened at the end of KH3, allegedly, when you fought black trenchcoat guys in a pitch-black scenario.

I think there are like 3 obligatory gauntlets in Act 3:
- The one at the beginning of the chapter
- The Coral Tower/Verdania
- An appetizer for the best boss in the series.
Act 3 has a boss with like 3 gauntlets one after the other.
Talking about the Coral tower or the Court?
For the former, there's a piss easy boss in the end and you can just break the pillar before the final gauntlet to skip 90% of the runback, while the latter is 100% optional.
It's kinda sad how the closest thing to the coloseum in Silksong is relegated in Act 3 and its gauntlet doesn't have as much variety as the trial of the fool.

It's not as bad honestly, But maybe is because I had a different settings in the options.

I'm trying the 5h speedrun achievement and I feel like I got completely cucked by The Mist, took me like 30 to 40 minutes to complete the area. It's an easy enough area, but it punishes impatience, and this achievement is all about impatience.
I left the game at 2h40 right after the clockwork dancers. It is doable, but I'm afraid I might get truly cucked by the choir gauntlet, it was hard with a bunch of upgrades and tools, and I'm currently toolless and with no extra mask or spool.

Of all the bosses I did, I died around 5 times to the Moorwing, once to Widow and once to Sister Splinter, the rest I did first try. If I fail this run, or when I try the steel soul version, I'll probably avoid Moorwing and just get the simple key from Sinner's road (edit: I just realized it's not possible to get to SR without the wall jump, the only way to avoid Moorwing seems to be by buying the simple key for 500 or doing the flea quest, both which seem to take longer than just killing this bitch).

It admittedly took me a long time to realize I was being bamboozled when I found The Mist for the first time lol, good luck though! I love the game but I am too reckless to attempt speed runs or a steel soul run lol
I loved the mist once I caught on to the gimmick. It was a nice change of pace and a good lead up to places like Wisp Thicket, imo.

Eta- ugh Tormented Trobbio has a good theme, a banger of a theme, even. I can't wait for Larkin to put out an actual arranged version of this stuff soon like he did with og Hollow Knight and that piano album.

Using ms paint to mark out a path on the map the area beforehand and roughly how much time you think it'll take you might be a pretty good idea.

I had a mix of legit retardation and bad luck fuck me up with the mist for a while. I was dodging past the silk ghosts for part of it, then I accidently killed one by setting off a trap, read the description that it could only be temporarily dissipated by a strong blow and assumed they could only be killed by traps. I spent like two hours trying to dodge them and play the song to trigger the light bugs. Then I didn't find the bench at the top and died at the boss, so I had to do it all over again.
