I can't believe we are only celebrating the first deathday of this piece of shit. I thought it happened 3 or years ago.

The fact that they tried to pass this off as "anime" is insulting. Even Korean sweatshop animation workshops can do anime. What's with these bimbos? JFC

Gen Zed may have been a scam, but it at least had a full-fledged pilot episode before it fucked off into the void (although I don't know if you can contact the creators). You can barely even claim HGS had anything to show for it, what little storyboards and concept art exist are just so bland and unappealing that you can't distinguish it from anything else. Did anyone ever get paid for their services, or did the committee smuggle it away? Where's the money, Crunchyroll? What drugs are Raye on and where can I get some to be in such blissful, yet delusional ignorance?

I rewatched the "trailer" this morning to celebrate its "birth" and you know what? This satyr fella looked super cool and it sucks he's part of this instead of an actual, decent show.

It was pretty much a scam like Gen Zed. Crunchyroll just stole its customers' money and gave it to criminals for doing nothing.

This is why I pirate anime and buy Blu Ray's. Fuck Crunchyroll.

One thing that I will never not find funny is how the name of the show is High Guardian Spice, but then the main characters are named Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, and Thyme, which are all herbs.

Two seconds of research would have been all it would have taken to not fuck that up. Two seconds.

People working on the show have made mentions that its still coming along.
Rick and Morty tried that the whole "all female writers thing" and that came with numerous delays, so I doubt that this will be much different.
A lot of the shows themes were pretty topical and SJW in nature, so I wonder if there had to be massive rewrites to adjust the show's 'wokeness.' I think this, along with the backlash, is why CR is so quite about it. The show may be changing a lot behind the scenes and they don't want to put anything out that may get revised later on.
The women also wrote the worst episodes in the series, including that Avengers parody that Dan Harmon has stated on record is his least favorite.

They may be trying to get the show platformed somewhere else in addition to CR itself.
Since a lot of the backlash came from CR customers, getting the show on a fresh platform (like netflix, toonami, etc) may bring a better reception.

It could be one of those anime tropes where the main character(s) aren't real *thing* but end up overcoming that and saving the day in the end.

This popped up on my feed today, forgot this show was supposed to be a thing until saw this. Didn't think it was even still relevant/remembered after all this time to have a meme made for it.

No sight of High Guardian Spice at Cruncyroll Expo:

I want to also mention that Thundercats Roar is in a similar situation and may have just been claimed to be a real project so WB could hold onto the rights with no intention for producing a real show.

Mattel and Super 7 have the rights to the toys and none of the shit they're making involves the new show. However rumors are circulating that a Cal Arts holocaust is upon us.

You see after the success of shows like Castlevania and other anime on streaming services many companies are now opting to go that route instead of having american 2D animation. It's come out that Mattel has entered into an agreement with a Japanese animation studio to make a new He-Man series and and two more series for two other mattel/super 7 toy properties. WB was attached to one and it's not DC or any type of Justice league because the toy rights and media rights to those are different.

Japan will end Tumblr's reign and grip on american animation by blowing it up like Pearl Harbor.

Well yes but they're the wrong kind of woman so actually no.
Well yeah, don't you know? They're all "subjugated oppressed and Orientalism patriarchy brainwashed China dolls" who aren't like the boastful spoiled fatass ugly dike spinster looking SJW baizuo savior womyn of the West. Surely, feminism is never about choice. Fuck having the choice of being either independent and choosing when to get married or working or deciding to raise kids on your own, feminazi womyn from America and Europe truly know what is best for everyone across the world. They surely don't count if they make art or write stories or both or whatnot.

Besides, it's not like the Western LGBTQXYZ community isn't one of the most racist and ethnocentric subcultures in the world, in contrary to their call for equality and shit.... /sarcasm

Well, isn't that nice! It'll be good to see the end of this decade with something better to follow the next.

Tell that to the creator of this work:

The characters in Ceres are not based on real people, but Watase notes that each one reflects some part of herself, as does the story as a whole. For example, Watase incorporated her thoughts on genetic engineering and other new technologies through the character of Kagami, who shows cruel disregard for the lives of the celestial beings he creates. While she feels such technologies can be useful to society, they should not be abused.

Watase purposefully left Ceres' true nature ambiguous in the end, never clearly stating if Ceres is an alien or truly a being descended from heaven. She notes, however, that part of the reason for this was that it wasn't something she'd thought about. In reflection, she felt Ceres was a symbol. In Japan, men are considered the dominant sex, and Watase notes that as a woman there are things about the system that anger her, such as men saying she is "just a woman." Ceres became a story about the relationship between men and women. She also wanted to show that while the Tennin and the humans in the story may have come from different origins, and evolved differently, they were still the same living creature in the end, with similar feelings and thoughts.
