Pardon me if this is too off-topic or not interesting enough, but I saw that title and immediately wondered if VG_Addict would feature here somehow. No mention of him yet, so I might as well drop some links.
Basically, this guy went to every internet forum under the sun, whinged about how he'd finally stopped growing at 5'3 and that no girl would ever want him and droned on like a broken record until he'd get banned. His end of it is pretty repetitive, but what's really amusing is the other posters' increasing frustration at his sperging.

I'm a 5'9" fat fuck, and I literally have no issues with my height/weight barring some health-related things that is inspiring me to be not quite as fat of a fuck. And none of the people I date have a problem with either my supposed "manlet" status or me being a fat fuck. My secret? I don't waste time with people who aren't interested...

ha, this is funny because some SJW told me that I have "tall privilege" because I'm 6'4 and when I told her that flying in coach is hell on my knees she said that some people just try to figure out new ways to feel oppressed.

5'4''. To put that in perspective I'm as tall as Manly Tears. Maybe it's me, though, but I don't give a shit. I dig petite chicks and, from my experience, petite chicks prefer guys around their height as it makes boning easier. Anyone who would reject me over my height would also be shallow enough to not be worth my time anyway, so hey! Living the dream.
I must say, this "movement" made me think about something I would like to share:
This "height equality rights movement" (Yes, I just came up with that term. LOL), I believe, speaks (Or, at the very least, hints) about the pressure inflicted by society upon its own members. Most specifically, the American society. From my observations, the American society is one that demands too much from its own members in terms of appearance. In order to be seen as successful or worthy, one must meet certain requisites, and these requisites are based on preconceptions of how an individual should be. For example, a person has to be living on their own past a certain age range in order for them to be considered independent or mature; while in other societies this particular requisite is either not as relevant or entirely null (Some Latin American countries, for example, where living with one's parents well into adulthood is normal or not as abhorrent).
It occurs to me that, perhaps, the intensity by which these appearance requisites are enforced, is cause for a lot of the less adjusted members of society to feel more neglected, frustrated and/or rejected. These feelings, over time, become ingrained, prevalent, and increase in magnitude within these "less adapted" individuals. As a result, these people's protests, aggressiveness, and complaints become more common in number and more violent in nature. What starts off as something a person would like to change about themselves if they were given a chance turns into an identity, and a reason for discomfort and protest against society and its injustices. This is how movements such as Furry Acceptence Movement, Otherkin Acceptance Movement, Feminism, Race Equality, Affirmative Action, etc begin. (Each one of these movements having its own history and relevancy in society as a whole, of course).
If we make a more thorough analysis these requisites become more specific, covering things such as gender and wealth... and of course, a male's height. And the reason for this particular acceptance movement.
Maybe, if American society was less appearance based, these SJW and acceptance movements wouldn't be as numerous as they are. No, I am not demonizing American society, nor am I sponsoring/endorsing this Height Acceptance Movement. I am just really curious as to why someone would come up with such a trivial social issue and would go as far as to make an acceptance movement out of it. Things such as gamergate, extreme radical feminism, etc are, in a way, not phenomenons of social acceptance at their core; if you look at it closely, these movements serve as a gathering for troubled individuals seeking to become a part of something much larger (Sometimes longing to acquire worth), or as tools for deflection and/or furthering a particular agenda; using discrimination against less privileged groups as a disguise.

Anyway, to the point of the thread, I myself am 5'4", and I never really felt myself affected by my being shorter than most people. I never really realized I was short until I was in adulthood, where it sort of impacted my confidence. But, really, that's the only reason I wouldn't find someone is because I'd developed a complex about my height. It's sort of a decent filtration system, in a way. The people I date generally are interested in ME, and if they aren't, they tell me right away and I don't waste time.
Also, shorter men, I think, generally have to work on having an actual "presence", instead of a presence made from sheer size. It's a bit of a pain in the ass, but any challenges you get from being shorter are not insurmountable.

Height is a tactical disadvantage. Tall people are harder to hide, and make snazzy targets.
