I'm just gonna use this opportunity to shill the Japanese live-action Death Note film trilogy. They do a much better job at keeping Light firmly as the villain whereas the anime starts almost fanboying him after a while, and the ending is way better.
The problem with the anime was, that I believe around the time the ending was being made, both the manga creators and animation studio were kinda seeing how the crowd would be on Lights side, despite him clearly having this tween mentality.

Is it true that Adam and Lute apparently have a duet in the new season?
That's what the song "Gravity" is, and we got the full song as well as the animatic way back when with the leaks. I don't think it's a true duet, though. Adam provides some of the initial lines, but the majority of the song is Lute herself singing solo.

The song itself goes hard and may be one of the best ones of Season 2.
This is the best version I could find on Youtube, though not the best quality since YT has pretty much shoahed all of the initial leaked songs from last year. If anyone's got a copy of the original leaked animatic with the song, please feel free to post it.

One of my favorite sympathetic villains is Prince Nuada from Hellboy 2. You can understand his anger because humanity's consumerism has ravished the planet, yet he plans to commit genocide since he sees that as the only way to save his kind and kills his own father to reach that goal.
You know, I forgot about that scene completely and it's weird to think at the time Nuada seemed extreme but with modern day realizations about suicidal empathy his father and sister urging him to sit back and watch their kind die out to a culture completely at odds to them, he becomes a lot more sympathetic.

These days I'm more lovey dovey with villains who are just assholes and get off on that. I feel like when everyone is redeemable, the word "antagonist" stops meaning anything.
Funny enough, everytime the topic of Stella comes up in terms of even giving her slightest positive spin, sympathetic or not, all of the fandom immediately clutch to this exact opinion and they put wools over their eyes and want to do the same to others by expressing it. Nevermind the fact that Stella's role in life put against her will was to be a literal child bride and broodmare decided by others higher in the Ars Goetia food chain, including her own family, and her arranged owl partner was too much of a homo degenerate to even try building a loving bond ("I tried to make things comfortable for us, to have this family"? Uh, sure thing, Stool's Ass, look how well that turned out to be). "bUT sTEllA SA'D sToLaS"! It's called a fucking arranged marriage, for the explicit purpose of a precautionary heir for a fucking reason, you retard monkey niggers. They could have delayed it, but none of the two could have refused sticking their dirty ass cloacas on each other forever. I personally headcanon that Stella did the complicated duty of maintaining fake relationships and status with the rest of the nobility to make sure her estate, and particularly Octavia's place in Hellish food chain, could be made secure... meanwhile, Stolas probably stuck to jacking off to imp porn or some shit, who the fuck knows. It's not like Vivz ever bothered portraying what the fuck he actually does other than swoon for his little sex slave or fail to build an actual relationship with his daughter (and I don't really count the Harvest Moon Festival as anything other than him proving how much of a condescending classist he actually is towards imps, lmao). Anyway, TL;DR: Someone save Stella's character from Vivz' hands already. Thank you for attending my TED talk.
Stolas feels like he'd willingly throw his life on the line on purpose given he's in a loveless arranged marriage, the guy he's in love with feels mistreated by him, and his reputation is already ruined. It doesn't help he is on ineffective antidepressants, This is not Viv's intent, but the only way Stolas' actions make any coherent sense is that he is suicidal especially with how willing he seemed to get executed on Blitzo's behalf rather than stand up for himself.
The only way this move would have actually created any fucking positive impact at all... was if Octavia's character never even existed in the first place. Hold on... the writing team LITERALLY must have forgotten Octavia existed when they wrote that particular scene. Lol, lmao even.

Most we get is him sitting at a desk writing... idk something. Vivziepop really has a way of taking characters that have a lot of opportunity for doing interesting shit (like literal superpowered demon princes) and basically just writing them as your bog standard whiny human aristocrats with too much free time. What the hell even are those 'armies' bird elsa wanted so badly???

Pilot stolas was like, meddling with global warming and shit. Show stolas seems to have 0 influence on the world around him.

Of course given the tendency to whitewash Stolas' actions, this is going to be framed as a selfless act of love than an act of self destruction.
Yeah I forgot that Stolas hadn't taken his "happy pills" since the Full Moon episode (I also forgot that Stolas has some sort of depressive disorder too but that besides the point). He believes that he's going to die once he's at the court and just accepts it. And most people are looking from either the perspective of Stolas or Blitzø, but not Octavia. Maybe cause they don't have the greatest relationship with their own parents, but they can't seem to understand how devastating it would be to see your own parent crashing out, obsessing over this affair they're having, and openly admit they feel they have no reason to live because the person from the affair doesn't like them back. You can imagine how that could affect a child; questioning if their own parent's love was even real.

(And because this show is also a shitty comedy, seeing Stolas being more upset that he is poor and has to do a working class job instead of the fact he can't see his daughter for the next 100 years....it really just seems to prove Octavia's suspicions.)

Kind of reminds of the movie Wish where they try to make King Magnifico a simple asshole villain that enjoys his villainy, but give him a sympathetc backstory that explains why he runs the kingdom the way he does and a reasonable explaination for it. When you look at the established lore for either story, you start to think that a character like Magnifico or Stella is having a reasonable crash-out; yeah, it's still a crash-out, but it makes sense.

It also doesn't help when you see the creator have a very obvious bias for certain characters, that if the words of one of the VAs is to be believed, that the male gay villain (Andrealphus) is going to have the sympathetic backstory instead of the supposedly straight female villain (Stella).

Pilot Stolas even told IMP that they had to kill some rapidly rising politician who had global warming as a core issue, because him being out of the way meant more suffering for humanity and more folks ending up in Hell. IMP slowly becoming pawns of Hell's aristocracy that want certain humans dead to worsen humanity? That sounds like a good direction to eventually take the show in, allowing extra drama that remains true to the assassins from Hell premise.

You could tie this in to why Heaven won't give Charlie the light of day, Hell's nobility is constantly trying to tempt and subvert humanity, Heaven struggles to keep them virtuous, the exterminations were an ultimatum given to Hell long ago that Lucifer accepted because  very few Hellborn of any note give even the slightest damn about Sinners, and with Heaven and Hell basically being in a cold war since directly after the fall of man and Lucifer, they understandably come to the conclusion that Charlie's goals will be inevitably subverted by Hell's royality at best, or is a malevolent scheme by Lucifer's daughter at worst.

But that could cause interesting, layered drama, which Viv is deathly allergic to.

You even have it in the HB show where we see succubi/incubi go to Earth to seduce humans to fuck them. And also that one infestor demon. Now that HB can crossover into HH, a plot line of Charlie having to confront the hellborn/hellborn rulers of their contribution of overpopulation of Sinners would make sense.

He's actually busy helping StyxHexenhammer use chaos magic to kill New Orleans ADA Ian Kersting. And apparently helping him with gardening and making YouTube slop.

If Viv doesn't make that cannon, she's a coward.

New I.M.P. target episode: KardrashAxeMetal - real name Tordson Williams. A strange hapa who considers himself high in magic(k) orders and got Stolas' attention.

A couple hours ago the Hazbin twitter account posted a clip from the new season and later deleted it, but people have reuploaded it.

Considering Vox fucks up and says "Trust me" during the released song and his drawings, it's obvious he's going to betray Velvette and Valentino.

Like so many other things in these two shows, all the pieces are there for interesting and unique plotlines, it's just that Viv will never focus on them. When Charlie and Blitzo inevitably meet, anyone expecting her to rightfully not like him over the whole killing for money thing is way too optimistic, at most her views on it will be a few throwaway lines that will probably be used as a joke if anything, with zero effect on character dynamics or plot.
