Honestly, I'd be fine with the lesbian thing if both Charlie and Vaggie had ANY form of fuckin' chemistry. Seriously, in the pilot those two had more chemistry than in the main series, which is just how do you even pull it off?

As offputting as some elements of this design are it's infinitely more TV based in a way I gotta somewhat appreciate. Guy looks like a knockoff/jojo fan character almost that'd have some sorta TV power. He's got some 80s looking scifi getup, His wristbands are TV remotes, he's got a DVR belt, his entire center torso and legs got that sparkly shit that's supposed to evoke TV static. You can SEE the how and why of how this dude's tied to TV in ways beyond "ah yeah just give him a tv head I guess".

Vaggie's actress has the same problem as Amara's actress in the original Sailor Moon dub. She's trying so hard to sound deep and masculine that she has almost no room in her vocal range to really emote. I don't know why the ADR director didn't let her just speak normally.

It's funny how they have more chemistry with each other when they were written to be friends in the pilot instead of girlfriends in the actual show. Probably because both supported each other and took the other's advice. Pilot Charlie was planning not to sing on air like Pilot Vaggie recommended; she only did that as a last resort attempt because the people weren't listening to her anyway. Show Charlie would never.

Also, thinking back to the pilot days made me realize how the whole "Vaggie is secretly exorcist" theory was really thought up from very little evidence. The two things people would bring up is that Vaggie has an angelic spear and an X over her eye. Firstly, getting an angelic spear isn't that difficult to do. We see two demons (who in the show became Carmilla's daughters) collecting angelic spears from corpses.

And the whole "X" being over the eye, that was obviously just a design aesthetic cause other characters have that too. And it's not like it's attached on her body either. It's an eyepatch.

And the show doesn't change any of that. Exorcist weapons are still easy to come by because they are just left willy-nilly, and Vaggie is still wearing an eyepatch with an X on it.

So yeah, I guess Viv really did just take those two lazy examples that people used in their pilot theory.

Then she had Carmilla use those two lazy examples as her excuse for having known Vaggie was an angel all along.
I swear, Episode 7 had to be the biggest waste of time out of the entire series. I have no idea how you can take a show with pacing this rushed and somehow give it filler, but they found a way.

I wouldn't care that Charlie and Vaggie are a thing if the show at all put effort into making Vaggie at all interesting, on paper she's got extremely strong potential, with a secret backstory that could be used to cause massive conflict with the entirety of the cast when it's inevitably revealed that would directly lead to multi-episode long arc playing out, but all that potential was completely thrown into the trash and it's instead shown that the only character to remotely give a single damn is Charlie, and it's not even because she killed thousands of her people.

Zach has been in the show. With Mammons first appearance he was background noise of the crowd screaming and when Ozzie tells the people he loves Fizz. You can hear Zach audibly say"I knew it!"
 
Definitely one of the better shorts. Probably the thing I'd give especial credit for is how they handle the hesitation on killing the target. Even though Mr. Wrigglers hit Loona emotionally, causing her to be more accommodating towards him despite Blitzo's protest, it doesn't present I.M.P. as morally wrong for having to kill him.

Oh, and Lyle Rath voiced the TV director from Seeing Stars who got burned by the blink-and-you-miss acid L.A. water. Wasn't expecting him to be part of the writing team.

Yeah hopefully he gets something more substantial though than just a background role.
