While for a lesser man, self-deprecation can make himself look "woe is me" pathetic, Asmongold does it in a way that disarms his critics who too often attack the man instead of the argument. His chat leans into the self-deprecation, making fun of Asmongold but in a good-natured way.

In contrast, not only is Hasan not funny, he's not good at taking criticism. Also he swears too much. He's like the kind of stand-up comedian that constantly swears to make up for the lack of wit.
