That's what annoyed the shit out of me with that chimp documentary that Josh was raving about it framed PETA as these edgy transgressive activist heros that swoop in to save those poor apes. I get that the documentary didn't have a story without PETA's involvement but the complete white washing of them in it really got under my skin.

Just saw the comment you are replying to and I concur. Honestly the more I think about it, the more PETA feels like some kind of scientology offshoot with its fixation on recruiting celebrities, the batshit doctrine and dogma and downright despicable things pushed by the higher ups/inner circle that are filtered and sanitised to outsiders so they come off as harmless uwu save muh cute animals uwu theatrics, and the downright culty material they vomit out into the internet. Say what you like about scientologists though, they generally mind their own fucking bidness with their scumfuck antics so long as you have not made it on to one of their shitlists.
In many ways it anticipated a lot of the shit that became ubiquitous with wokeshit in the past decade of currentyear with the focus on obnoxious and loud performance for asspats and attention, pointless antagonism and purity testing that alienated all but the most batshit or spineless or grift happy specimens, and naturally the cynical profiteering by threatening companies with "totally real and srs and scary" PR disasters unless they paid PETA for its stamp of approval or provided a sinecure for one or more of its higher profile members

I think is their way to cope of being basically descendant of colonial elites/collaborators. Good stuff! Even though it didn't need to be proven empirically that you could cut off miniscule studs since its obvious, I'm glad he did it anyways because Hasan's defenders were still clinging to the notion that they weren't removable. Also, this guy commented on something I did earlier too, that the bolt holding in the charging port cover is shiny on Hasan's unit. As he says, it's either that they don't always come painted or it wears off. Here's one I found on an Amazon review proving that:

Sorry for double posting but when they were having their autistic blood feud with Ethan Klein they didn't seem to think that all that effort could be invested in Palestine instead. Then, about halfway through the video, he watches Hasan showing off the collar and claiming that it's the vibrate only model and is duped by it. Since the prongs are absent, he says something like "Yea, okay, I guess that's the vibrate only model and she's just extremely sensitive to it."
But that still doesn't sit right with him because he knows from experience that it's a shocked-at-high-setting reaction (the sharp yelp and flinch is what you get). And he had noticed that Hasan was careful to hide the back of the receiver, so he reverts to his initial correct position and concludes that Hasan must've just been concealing the prong studs with his thumb (not considering that he cut them off) and leaves this comment pinned to the top:
Hasan's supporters in that post claim he was bullied into it from the comments, but he posted it right after uploading the video if you look at the time stamps. They also are worried about people watching the video since, you know, it doesn't fit Hasan's own explanation at all and since the comments are full of dangerous misinformation like the evidence we've given showing it cant be the vibration only model.
