Throwback to when Hasan Piker was shopping for dogs and a concerned chatter asked him to avoid certain purebreeds due to health issues.

He ranted at the chatter saying "I know they have breathing problems, I don't give a shit... that's a lib-ass take... it's just a fucking dog".

I've said a couple times what my guess would be, but there's no up-close image for me to go off of. Nevertheless, given how common they are and well regarded, I think it's most likely an Educator receiver. It has a downward facing LED that lights up periodically when it's on (or when you signal it). Note that the other object on the collar and what was posted on his sub-reddit is an air tag or something and not what we're concerned with.

huge autistic sperg ahead, but i used to believe these tools held a place in training as well, but with the current research we have there simply isnt a reason to justify the use of aversive methods. prong and shock collars are an example of positive punishment, adding something to decrease the likelihood of a behavior occuring, its simple right? a dog will stop barking or growling to avoid a shock, a dog will stop pulling to avoid the pressure of a collar, so on and so forth, it often produces quick results that you see various "trainers" post as proof these tools are necessary, can be used correctly etc. the problem is that these quick results are nothing but a band aid, the behavior has been suppressed, not fixed. all behavior serves a purpose, it has an underlying emotional cause that needs to be addressed, especially in reactive dogs. take the barking as an example, the dog has learned not to bark, but the feeling causing them to bark hasnt been addressed, that dog may not bark, but it also means they wont give warning when they bite. anything taught with a prong or shock collar can be taught with non aversive methods, just as reliably. differential reinforcement of alternate behaviors and the abcs of behavior are crucial for effective behavioral modification and when we use these tools as a quick fix those things are ignored. dogs were bred to work for us, not against us. its nothing but laziness to rely on these tools. i don't believe its abusive in all cases, but i dont believe theres any reason to choose these tools over positive training. i can provide links and resources for everything i say, apologies for sperging out and absolutely not trying to be rude towards you, i am all for discussion and healthy disagreement
