Got it, the thread was a little confusing. Anyway it looks like right now that they've fixed some of the physics bugs above 30fps but not everything. They are actively seeking help to fix it, hopefully some uber-nerd will help with that, my C++ is way too rusty. But it's at least in theory a starting point to get some improvements like the Doom and Quake sourceports have done for their respective games, assuming it's not just a bunch of spaghetti code like reverse engineered projects often are. It's probably safe from DMCAs but as we all know it's pretty much a judgement call on the platform's behalf, though after the youtube-dl fiasco GitHub is probably more discerning now.
