Well considering that even saints row's MC had a voice even on SR1, i doubt it.Yeah, and I don't think that well is particularly deep. Plus Rockstar has been poisoning it for awhile now. They'd be better off with create-a-character mute protagonists going forward.
Especially since Saints Row shat the bed they could absorb that fanbase.
there is even a speculation that kenn did voice for the african american boss on SR1 because they sound similar however the actor nor volition won't confirm that.List said:Saints Row 2

There was a video about Maylay talking with Shawn as mentioned by @DumbassRecords, and the way that he was contractually locked of sorts so in a way he couldn't do shit for a couple of years, which paired with the fact that his ghetto rapper mentality of "family treating eachother like family" made him even angrier at R* because he felt fucked over.Young Maylay is a ghetto retard who bitches that Rockstar "left him out in the cold" (aka didn't pay him more money) and his rap career never took off.
Isn't moodyman a DJ that was sort of hired by houser's studio? The best Rockstar has pulled out for GTAO is fucking Moodyman or whoever that tard is.
Hey, R* has money. And unions are being pushed now to give voice actors more pay.
R* says they don't hire well-known actors for main roles because of "ego and immersion."
My only issue with VA Unions is the royalties talk, like nigger, a programmer should be far more deserving of fucking royalties than a VA.It's not a steady gig and it's not decent pay. They get paid below the going rate. Again, Rockstar is one of the major antagonizers that's gonna lead to that bullshit VA guild. I'm also not against Rockstar cheating people, if they're dumb enough, fine, whatever... my entire argument is that the well will run dry. If you keep a consistent image of being a hellhole, you tend to run out of prospective employees. Big name or no.
You're not counting peter molyneux games aren't you? or that is only on the 'merican VA scene? It's gotten better now. For a decade or so, there were two 'English' VAs in the gaming industry, and neither are actually from the UK. Jennifer Hale and Claudia Black.

Now, I'm not sure if there's a 1:1 translation on this, but anime VA work is considered meager pay unless you're someone that voices big name characters or a lot of characters. VA work isn't a 9-5 job, it's show up, do a couple of hours of line reads, and once you have no more lines to read you're done until they need you for a new voice. There's a reason VA people tend to diversify their income sources.Source? Cause that'd end this whole debate right now.
I'll remind you that the main characters in the HD era Rockstar games were working for a year or more, so I'd say that's pretty steady for actors who are mostly known for bit roles and stagework.
Now, I think Rockstar was also paying their VA (at least for GTAV, not sure about earlier) for motion capture which would definitely keep them on the payroll for longer.
IRC, GTA IV was in development right after San Andreas. Development is split into concept, technology, story, gameplay and acting. This is the reason Michael Hollick was paid 100k and spent a year performing the role. I'd assume the GTA trio and RDR actors made similar.
to be fair, as crap as the DE is, comparing official games to mods was always retarded.
Lmfao if you think video game devs aren't paid in fucking peanuts and ramento be fair, as crap as the DE is, comparing official games to mods was always retarded.
"if modders could do it, why couldn't you?!?!" - dunno, maybe because modders work on autism and ramen without getting paid`? rockstar also can't just take those mods and repackage them for a console release because that would open a whole can of legal worms, not to mention the already shit PR (ROCKSTAR IS MAKING MONEY OF YOUR MODS!!!11). so the only option is do it on their own to the degree the beancounters consider feasible.
it's not rocket science really, but makes for good clickbait videos I guess. wonder if those are monetized (what, you don't to shit out clickbait for free?).

I can't find any "official" source since Michael Hollick takes up any SEO, most of his complaints was the use of his voice in commercials and monetized trailers without compensation, but that's all I ever heard from the VA circle on Twitter was Rockstar bad. Which was the majority of my point. Reasons went everywhere, but one I remember was them asking for more than the work originally asked for with no compensation. Although, that may have been them angry about residuals and wanting a good spot in the union. I have no idea if Rockstar is obligated to go with union actors or not, I imagine they'd like to not do so yet I can't find any information if they pull a Funimation and go for voice actors in Texas because they aren't unionized.Source? It’s not just Jannies that do it for free.to be fair, as crap as the DE is, comparing official games to mods was always retarded.

It's not like they're selling the mods. It’s not just Jannies that do it for free.
If I were a modder I wouldn’t do jack anymore until Retardstar would official call mods fair game, and even then I’d remember how they fucked our modding asses recently.
Of I were a stealing fucker named rockstar I’d collect the best mods about a year after release and incorporate them into the game as a giant „thank you thann you to the players“ an not give credit to any modder. Will they still develop mods then? It's not like they're selling the mods.
Cant they license the mods from the creators? has any company tried that before?to be fair, as crap as the DE is, comparing official games to mods was always retarded.

I betcha money it'll be a mobile version again. Or, MAYBE, the broken PC port. The remakes have been such a piece of shit I'm already disappointed at what GTASA VR its gonna be like
Afaik they havent said if it will be using the OG engine or unreal, but the latter its far more likely due to existing 6dof controller support and other VR tech
I rather get the mobile version than the shitty remakesI betcha money it'll be a mobile version again. Or, MAYBE, the broken PC port.
