From what we saw, Maradonia takes place in a swamp. She just writes about what's around her.
 
I have to agree with vicious.ink, there is no proof that Marina controls Gloria's social media. There's the odd post that's obviously made by Marina because of the extreme ESL-ness, but the vast majority is bland unremarkable twenty-something social media "influencer" language that's very much in line with Gloria's style of writing in Maradonia. Feel free to disagree but I've never seen any proof Marina controls Gloria's accounts, only speculation. In fact, the extreme ESL-ness of Marina's posting contrasts with the usual Gloria fair to the point where I feel like that's evidence it's not her posting in and of itself. Gloria has some engrishy moments but there's a pretty distinct style when she does and it's not the same as the mistakes Marina makes in her writing. I don't know, just doesn't seem accurate to me but if there's proof I'd like to see it too.

I completely agree that Gunter is behind Gloria's illustrious career as the world's youngest novelist. Gloria has zero talent and zero passion. She's more enthusiastic about her 'music' career and even more enthusiastic about her 'modelling'. She's clearly been bitten by the fame monster. I can buy Gunther pushing her to write but I can't buy Gloria being a passive vessel who has no desire for fame and just does as she's told. I'm pretty sure her parents weren't standing behind her in the club where she pulled the classic famewhore maneuver of making out with another girl.

I think they at least created the dissonance in her mind where she talks about how youth are corrupt and need Jesus in their lives, then smash cut to her shaking her ass, making out with a girl, and singing fuck the haters. I get the feeling this church is one of those "you can do whatever you want as long as you have faith in Jesus" type deals. Actually, did Gunter found it or did he just join it?
 
If Gloria wants to live in the world of her writing, shouldn't that be a manure factory? Also, the stringy headband is a bad look for her. It seems to emphasize her Bert Lahr level jowliness.
 
I think some people in this thread have a tendency to white knight. If any of you guys want to see a story of a helpless kid manipulated into famewhoring by an insane parent, I recommend the Margaret Palermo thread. But saying this is the case with Gloria is reaching. There's no proof of anything like that.

Also, unpopular opinion, but I think this thread REALLY overstates the importance of Gloria being non-native speaker of English/part German and part Russian. Sure, her English is bad, but it's not "unable to speak the language" bad. She lived in the US her entire life, doesn't seem isolated from her American peers (apart from the homeschooling shit) and honestly doesn't seem too different from them. She's as American as you can get.

Her idea of showing her German heritage is wearing a polyester Oktoberfest Halloween costume, for fuck's sake. That's the americanest way of thinking about other cultures that I've ever seen.

When have we ever outright proclaimed hatred for Gloria? We don't wish her physical/emotional harm and the people who come in here to lust after her are generally looked down upon and scoffed at. The mere fact that someone exists does not mean that they're exempt from criticism. We haven't made any attempts to troll her or her parents. We're casual observers of her purposely public life: something that is a direct result of the Teschs' own actions. If what ultimately amounts to mild criticism on an internet site that 99% of the world's population has no idea even exists is so damn horrific to you then you should never, ever watch the news.

We're not a site for people to learn professional creative skills, or really professional skills in general. What do you think you're going to gain here? Especially if the most mild, least-offensive thread on the entire Farms triggers you so much.
