So I've decided to rewatch the first episode before reading the comic so I can give a fair review. All I can say is that the comic is genuinely worse in every way imaginable. I didn't have high expectations of it, and it still managed to disappoint me.

How the hell does one fumble adapting a cartoon into a comic book this bad? How does one make MD's already bad pacing issues even worse? They made such a poor adaptation that it made even the Redditors upset. (Also, this made me check the MD subreddit out for the first time, and it was as much of a cesspool as I expected it to be.) This comic makes me MATI since fixing MD shouldn't even be a hard task, and making the comic a 1:1 adaptation is probably the biggest mistake a man could make, as it leaves almost no room for improvement.

I consider MD's biggest flaws to be it being too fast for its own good and the humor needlessly ruining serious moments. The easiest way to slow the story down is by adding more dialogue. For example, we know that Uzi and Khan don't have a great father-daughter relationship, so why not add one or two pages where nothing is happening but the two of them are interacting with each other so we can explore said relationship better? You can't have character development and drama if no one is talking to each other. And if we want MD to still be a comedy while making the serious moments more serious, these extra pages would allow us just that. Even if they don't want to add anything new to the story, just rewriting dialogue to clear up any ambiguities would be a lot better than whatever we'll get in the next issues.

Or alternatively, just don't do a retelling and write something original. But seeing how they can't even do a retelling right, I'm glad all we get from these morons is a bad adaptation.

I can't wait for the Murder Drones novel to come out and it's just them transcribing the episodes 1:1 in text format.

There is a promise for the episode "Home" to be getting a special edition comic available the 17th of May for certain backers and specific comic shops according to the newsletter. It claims to be 30 pages with "extra lore!!!!" However, the same thing was said about the comic itself. Not sure if I qualify as I did shill out the money in hopes of more information with the comic (I only did the digital copy. Edit on this because I was mistaken. I only did the physical copy, not the digital. Forgive me for I am a tard and did not pay attention. ) but will definitely post that PDF if provided.
Here's the cover art for it:

I'm gonna place my bets on this "Extra lore" being a nothingburger.

Look what I found. These are two Murder Drones Icebergs that were created early in the show's life and, in retrospect, have aged terribly. I found them on Twitter, and they were uploaded on April 2nd and 10th, 2022, respectively. Seriously, some of these points feel like shitposting. Murder Drones is a reference to WW3? Was this what people expected the show to be back then? Also, these Icebergs frequently reference Meta Runner. For those who don't know, one of the early Murder Drones theories was that Meta Runner and Murder Drones shared universes, and these Icebergs lean towards that theory. Of course, this theory slowly died after Meta Runner faded from public consciousness as soon as the show ended.

I'm starting to get burned out on people declaring everything that falls out of Glitch's asshole as some 10/10 masterpiece that'll save the animation industry when almost all of them are insanely generic and are only impressive because they're indie.

None of these shows are breaking boundaries and changing the animation industry forever, they're no different from the other 500 million "pilots" on youtube made by unoriginal theaterkid zoomilennials that never moved on from the 2010s. The difference is these ones have a bunch of money and celebrity voice actors thrown at it.

If any of these shows were made by an actual big studio and put on primetime TV absolutely no one would be impressed.
They'd all be either;
A) Forgotten about and dropped after one season as more interesting shows ate up viewership
B) Owl House 2.0 where it's 99% childless adults gooning over a childrens show while actual kids barely give a fuck

Same here. It also bothers me when people say Glitch will be the new Disney or the new Cartoon Network. Let's be real, does anyone here think, unironically, that in the future people will talk about Murder Drones the same way we talk about things like OG Lion King or The Hunchback of Notre Dame more than 30 years after their releases? I don't think so.

their favorite show was unironically Skibidi Toilet, especially among boys

Good for him, Skibidi Toilet is underrated and overhated. Once you get past the early shitpost episodes (of which are very few), the series becomes surprisingly good.

Not even that, would it even have the same kind of lasting discourse like the og Teen Titans, pre-final season Samurai Jack, or the original Avatar show?

People were still talking about those shows like a decade+ after they ended everywhere.

Ive heard murder drones mentioned maybe 4 times total in a few internet spaces when it was actually running, this wont even be as lasting as hazbin hotel

I think it's because of the sites I visit regularly, but Murder Drones is HUGE on TikTok. I've seen hundreds of Murder Drones pfps and reaction images in comments sections, even on videos that have nothing to do with the series, kind of like what happens with FNAF and Undertale/Deltarune. And it's still going strong in 2026. Murder Drones became very popular posthumously, and I have a feeling that it will have staying power. Even so, I don't think anyone will talk about it seriously and professionally in the future like they do with shows like Avatar.

Speaking of murder drones has anyone seen that fan project called murder drones insecurity
Yes, mostly because I remember their being some kind of drama or controversy with someone involved but can't recall what it was off the top of my head or find what it was by searching.

I wonder what happened to the other murder drones after the finale
I think the implication is they're all fucking dead because Cyn only cared enough to clone the main 3 considering the literal piles of dead disassembly drones in the lobby of that office building and Liam saying there were only like... 20 something of them.
