I know I'm quoting you twice in a row but also if he unironically thinks characters like Cyn or his Inter-whatever-the-fuck cube characters are actually scary on any level it would explain so much.
That's one thing I never got myself, the people talking about for example Murder Drones being scary or unnerving. I never felt even an ounce of fear at any point watching the series which is leading me to believe most of the viewers are actually children and Liam might be a bit of a manchild. Like Murder Drones does vaguely reference horror related things but it never ever scared me even a little bit.
Though admittedly that might just be a me thing because I'm also the guy who plays horror games mostly deadpan and why horror games with no gameplay beyond, run in circles and hide from the scary monster, bore the shit out of me, but yet I see so many other people being like "OH MY GOD IT'S SO SCARY GUYS!"
But yeah I never got how Murder Drones was supposed to be horror. Probably because the quirky personalities and admittedly cute character designs DO NOT lend to horror at fucking all. Like yeah I'm supposed to be scared of fucking bobblehead robots who spew lolsorandom humor. Yeah, okay.

Liam was basically that edgy kid who thought he was a horror expert, but was actually just obsessed with creepypastas in the early 2010s. His very first channel created in 2013, Scary Story Time With Liam, was literally him narrating creepypastas, some of them written by him. Infact, something I read on the Internection Cube wiki, is that Internection Cube started out as one of his own creepypastas.

Here's the link to the Scary Story Time With Liam: https://www.youtube.com/@ScaryStoryTimeWithLiam/featured

Something I've noticed about Scary Story Time With Liam is that some of Liam's OCs laid the groundwork for many of the character designs in Murder Drones.

I also noticed that another of Liam's older works called Let's Split Up also influenced MD. It was about two wendigos who could transform into humans, posing as campers. And, of course, the female, simply named Di, is the more sadistic of the two. She's essentially a proto-Cynessa, even more so than IC-0n.

As I've said many times, most of the praise MD receives is simply due to its association with Glitch. People consider MD a groundbreaking series because "it's indie". Yesterday I came across a video titled "Murder Drones and the Genre NOBODY Gets Right".

This video is about a guy praising the show, saying that it has "Hollywood Quality". I can only agree about the high production quality, but I have to disagree with almost everything else. He literally refers to Uzi as a "surprisingly deep character", to N as a tragic figure, and states that V had a great character arc. It's very clear that this guy is only saying this because it's an indie show, because at the beginning of the video, he literally says that the reason MD is popular is because it showed the untapped potential of a genre in a way that no AAA company would dare to do, as it would be too risky, and that most companies that explore the genre end up losing touch with what the genre actually means. He said the quiet part out loud: Murder Drones is only great because it's indie; if it were a corporate production, it wouldn't be great. This guy doesn't understand that Murder Drones is essentially style over substance. It's pretty to look at, but that's about it.

I think we can all agree that Glitch Productions fans need to read books or watch different shows and movies, regardless of whether they are indie or not.

One last thing I want to show before ending this post is about Cynessa's design. Looking through the MD wiki, I discovered that Cynessa's original design was going to be much bloodier and had more emphasis on her being a robot inside a human corpse.

I bet Glitch thought this design was too violent and told Liam to tone down the disturbing aspect of Cynessa's design. I think it would have been better if this had been the final design. At least it would have somewhat justified Murder Drones being a horror series. (by the way, the name of one of these files is literally liams_goofy_eldritch_abomination_silly)

These character designs literally just feel like
>RAWR XD
characters, if you know, you know. Like shit you'd see on Tumblr (Edit: And Deviantart can't believe I forgot.) back in the day or hell even old creepypasta spaces where they'd draw like Jeff The Killer and fucking Ben Drowned looking all cute and shit and would unironically say shit like... well "RAWR XD" Liam had to have been one of those kids. Because if he was, it would explain so much. So much.

Or he's a retard that doesn't know what decent writing is if it smacked him upside his empty head? That's also possible.

I wonder if he and Vivzie ever interacted, perhaps without them even being aware. She was also a RAWR XD type and Alastor is also a very old OC that was also the edgy native american deer thing except he didnt get as much of a species change. He's basically her male, less evil and slightly less autistic version.

Lol called it that it was gonna have issues getting rated and might still be unrated upon release. And that it wasnt fully finished yet, tho I was expecting it to be the foreign language dubs, not the animation itself.

Although the foreign dubs might also not be done, or the translated subtitles. Pretty sure those might need to be included in the rating process to make sure the translators dont just do whatever, the dutch dub of the Totally Spies cartoon (which aired on Nickelodeon) sometimes uses swear words like 'bitch' because dutch rating laws for tv used to be less strict.

Also, at least at the cinemas I looked at, the director credit is LITERALLY 'Gooseworx', not whatever his transgender name is. And he voices a MALE character on the show. This mofo is being gender ambiguous on purpose so you cant complain when people use they/them pronouns.
