Hoyo kind of forced itself into a corner with anemo. There's a good amount of anemo catalysts (7/16 anemo characters are catalysts) that are just there to activate VV and use TTDS. At least Xianyun has plunge and Lanyan has a shield, but anemo supports just feel very tied down to one playstyle and it's "Sucrose sidegrade/downgrade". The DPS anemo units aren't faring any better, but at least Chasca is unique and not tied to VV.
Lately there's some issues with Hoyo slapping a bandaid on useless reactions: Escoffier for freeze, Ineffa for electro charged, Lauma for bloom, Chev for overload, arguably Emilie for burn. It's gimmicky but for a game that's 5 years old it's bound to happen. There's only so much you can do with the elemental system. Maybe it would be more interesting if they made more artifacts or weapons that support forgotten elemental reactions, instead of new support characters?

They're just really limited in what they can do because they don't really want to bring back old units and instead always have you chase after the newest, shiniest meta character. (Sure, the Hexerei buffs helped and I finally got to play Venti as dps, but none of those buffed characters compete with the top teams.) So they rather release fancy new but severely limited characters to get those $$$. I can't see them ever making another carry that is truly flexible in their team composition.
That said, I'm tempted by Zibai despite not getting Columbina. I'm aware it's a bad idea, but since I'm also skipping Varka, I'm getting fidgety looking at my primos. Will wait until we meet her in the story though. If she's uwu-ing for the Traveller too my decision will be easy.

I really can't wait for 6.3 not gonna lie, can't say the same about artifact farming hahaha, just hoping I can get some decent pieces for Columbina quickly, I do have some extra time for Zibai and Illuga thankfully.

I'll be pulling for both, but skipping Columbina's weapon banner and rolling on Zibai/Neuvillette's instead because I'd like both so losing the 50/50 isn't a bad deal.

Nefer did but it was more on her scaling and gameplay than hard restriction. Charge attacker, no dmg bonus and lack of top EM buffers limits her hard, to the point i think her best sustain is still zhongli.
On paper Varka doesn't sound that cripled cause "well, he can choose 4 elements to duo and there are more hex than nodkrai" but on practice it that's painful. It would be fine if it was one or the other but not both.
There is no cryo nor hex sustain yet, razor and klee are on fielders, albedo is geo, mona, sucrose and fischl waste some of their kits and venti will always depend on the enemy. This means the only ez slot is Durin whose banner is over. At least if you wanted flins and nefer you had time to get their supports.
And even then you have to HOPE that the next hexerei work with Varka. Imagine if Nicole is like, "sorry varka but i'm actually main dps lol". At least skirk can be used as a burst subdps (can't believe i'm actually defending skirk).
There are leaks that Lohen will be cryo support and work with varka but other leaks say he will be standard banner and if true, i do not trust hoyo to make him good.
I was going to say, anemo was always kinda borked because it has to be balanced around VV res shred. If you take out VV anemo becomes the worst element in the game and only has venti and kazuha control going for it, two 1.x units. Anyone would just use a subdps. There is no anemo subdps because vv doesn't work off field and swirl doesn't enable anything. Swirl is just a tool for vv and only scales with EM, but anemo wasn't originally about EM, it was cause sucrose was good by accident (girl ascends with anemo dmg btw) so they've been remaking sucrose for 5 years.
I started spergung paragraphs and deleted so i'll keep short and say anemo has big issues only second to geo that started awful and they made shit up along the way. I don't know why Hoyo can't simply rework reactions and artifacts or actually buff units without slapping a new restriction. Other than pride and greed ofc. It's not like Lunar even did a good job because it just made them mindless spam that scales with crit and fuel the only strong move.
You just know that superconduct for example will stay hot garbage until they release an overloaded support for it and an overpowered dps locked to it.
Keep in mind that Zibai being defense scaling and not using dmg bonus means 3* harbinger of down is legit top 3 weapon on her (over 100 crit value) and ez to use with zhongli (who is not even bad with her as his pillar will pulse the the lunar cristals). I'm actually surprised hoyo let her get away with it.
There is inefa and lauma so it would be really weird if there is no lunar geo subdps. Maybe they're counting on illuga being enough as his buffs are actually busted for a 4* but zibai doesn't have an optimal fourth slot. It might actually be zhonge.

I won ineffa first at near 90 pity, lost columbina to jean c2 (could be worse) then got bina around 40~ i think. Big losses for me and not a lot saved but oh well, at least i can make an actual lunar team now. I gave bina stuff i farmed for months and her ratio is 50/112 lvl 70 blergh. I think i'll have to make a second prototype amber.
Didn't test them much yet but one thing i already noticed is that Columbina feels much faster than normal. Girlie is zooming.

Got 'Bina in 40 pulls at 80-something pity, got 'Neffa one ten-pull later, still over 50k gems. Simple as.
I've heard that Faruzan with Golden Troupe can subdps off-field decently.

Got moon waifu in 40 pulls, very nice thank you Mihoyo. But fucking L-O-L that the free horse costume forces you to pick a gender, you only get one copy of it. Fucking stingy as all hell, god damn lol.

I just did the quest, surprised how it just quickly dumped you at the northmost facility when the map made it seem like you were supposed to venture north towards it and meet shit along the way, so now post quest I'm doing that and I have no clue how you're supposed to get there beyond the pre-activated teleport point, really hate that kind of design they keep slowly encroaching on.
Pacing was better than last time, but some shit was still feeling rushed in some areas with some very sloggy dialogue. Not as repetitive as the last few updates so a very slight nudge backways to form but that horrible "second screen writing" type shit is in everything these days.Anyways

Pulonia being playable for a bit showed how sandrone's special would probably work... If she didn't unceremoniously die during dottores' fight. She's treated constantly as dead dead but they also before that were talking about how her core was intact meaning she wasn't dead dead but she's now dead dead because reasons I guess. I kind of wish we got to see the other two fucked up experiments dottore was running in the bubbles beyond just the "put people's brains in animal bodies to fuck with them and see how they react" thing. Anyways dottore went out in a way that made sense but I kind of wish his fight was less BS and not scripted to be unlosable.

Now I'm not saying something EXACTLY like this will happen, but this is a game that wears it's inspiration from other popular games on it's sleeve.

Got Columbina right at pity, wiped out my stockpile again, but I kinda expected that considering how my gacha luck has apparently jumped over to Nikke.

Summoned right when the banner came out yesterday, and thankfully I got super lucky! Won the 50/50 for Columbina, I did reach 80 pulls (soft pity) but who cares, had I lost the 50/50 I would have needed pretty much every single pull from 6.3 to get Zibai but now I'll get her easily, I'm over the moon (heh) to be honest, now I just need to farm some more and I should have a strong Bina.
Regarding the AQ I haven't played too much yet (around an hour) but I'm enjoying it so far I guess some won't be too fond of how they're definitely pushing Columbina in a similar way to Ayala or Cyrene (waifu for the MC) but personally I don't really care.
Oh and the moments we've had of Paimon are so cute, poor little creature, isn't this pretty much the first time she has spend any amount of time without the Traveler ?

That's really the thing that made me quit Genshin years ago. I just can't stand the gacha aspect of these gacha games. I was a free to play player, I understand I won't be able to get everyone, but I want to at least be able to get the one I like most. It's why I like Infinity Nikki instead, because you know exactly what you're rolling for and if you save up a little you're guaranteed to get it.

I burnt every primogem but I was able to get columbina and ineffa even after losing a 50/50, a whole patch of artifact farming awaits.

I honestly really don't get the hype about 'bina. Sure I rolled flins back when he ran but I find his gameplay to be really gay and I'm having way too much fun now with this.
Since she turns normal reactions into lunar ones I was thinking of using her to make a kaveh lunar bloom DPS team for the meme but I really can't be bothered to waste pulls on bina.
Nuevi is a 10x times better fit for the team i have. I wish you the best 'bina pullers,
I'll be sitting this one out... (not before i snag me a c4 fischl 
)imo her kit is so incredibly restrictive on top of just being a lazy damage buff. I wasn't expecting her to have overtly quirky mechanics and be moonsign furina (with 10x less personality) but cmon man they could have given her ult like a healing passive or something. This nigga flins could 100% use it.

On practice she really isn't that *good*. She's a lazy half fix to an artificial problem that helps you deal with artificial challenges. But i don't mind, she has a unique walk and having at least one lunar charge team is good cause i can put any hydro or electro in there. 2 Lunars also enable the dps set meaning if i get lauma i can actually put haitham on the 30% crit set.
btw you cant make "lunar bloom dps kaveh". Lunar bloom is just a different damage type that only lauma, columbina and nefer can do in one of their moves. You basically play a normal bloom team but columbina does a charge attack every now and then.
You can guarantee but it's unfortunate how stingy genshin was and still is. if it helps, they will give 20 rolls this patch for chinese new year but in worst cases it can take an f2p player two full patches to guarantee a 5* so you can't get every new unit you see unless you don't care about tryharding.
Anyways, starting the story quest, this line really got me.
