Pulled Cyrene off the gift tickets. If only I could have pulled her light cone. Fuck it, I'll just use the 4-star cone for a while

Unrelated to anything, can I say how happy I am that Traveler just talks on her own sometimes now? It used to be so rare that it was essentially one voiced line per year, but it's happening a lot more commonly and casually now.

For so much of the game's history there's always been this discrepancy where Traveler is supposed to be you but also is an independent character with history, opinions, and motivations that you have no say over. Almost all dialog from her is text boxes that you have to select but aren't really choices and are just obstacles to conversation flowing freely between characters. That still happens most of the time, but in Nod Krai it's becoming increasingly common for Traveler to just reply with a voiced line directly.

I hope this trend continues, not just for Traveler's sake but Paimon's too. When Paimon is only speaking for herself she's allowed to be more of a character of her own instead of a mouthpiece for our player character who inexplicably refuses to say anything. It's all just so much more natural feeling.

Just finished the 6.1 AQ, pleased with how everything is going so far, although I understand why they are doing it, I really want the game to recognize that I'm one of those weirdo's that does every world quest and reads all the extra text and stuff, so I really don't need a recap of the Narzissenkreuz quest line at the end. Looking forward to more Sandrone info as I do love me a snarky bitch.

Going through the second half of 6.1 AQ and I dunno, it feels like gauntlets. Archon quests have always been long but they had breaks in between. However 6.1 feels overly long as it's just one big domain.

I don't like this new form of quest.

Nor do I like Nefers character quest tagged onto it.

I also don't know how to feel about the chess part. On one hand interesting but on the other, idk it makes for boring cutscenes that's hypercarried by the voice acting. It's a good thing I'm rocking JP.

It was jarring as fuck when all of a sudden right after the reveal of everything going on with Rerir we're sidelined into a long ass sequence of events that show her past. Lauma and Flins had their stuff in the previous AQ but those felt natural. Flins is linked to Rerir/Wild Hunt, while Lauma is related to the moon and gave introduction to the lore with their moon goddess.

Nefer's one felt tacked on and the visual of her laughing was...something. Not what I thought she'd act like. Plus the first part was set in the desert and I personally hated the Sumeru desert quests.

I had to sit through that part just to get the quest done because Hoyo LOVES making you start over from the beginning if you leave or disconnect. This could have been handled by giving her a separate story quest. Or a damn skip button.

Who is this genshin character? They have an anedote so i assume it must be a playable yet i never seen them. Are they teasing future characters?

Btw new mecarashi update and they adde almost all previous pilots and mechs to the shop banner and i really like that cause if you're a new player you can get a lot of old pilots at once from it.

I forgot to say i unlocked the POST GAME SKILL TREE and i find it dumb. You basically reached level cap but you have to keep farming the same type of content to upgrade a giang skill tree that increases your stats by 1% which sounds small but keeps stacking like it's a clicker game. It's feels very shitty mobile-y progression but at least you can't pay to skip meaning it's a hard time gate that will separate players tremendously over time.

They added real time pvp too which is, hahaha fuck no this game has retarded balancing choices and powercreep so i do not want to touch it with a 10 feet pole but they give you a significant amount of gems so the fomo is real...

But if you give them their own quests no one will do them and they'll miss the #LOOOORE! So now we must stop everything to date Ayaka go to Sumeru with Nefer.

I think lauma was a good mix, she tags along in a dungeon and you learn about her life but also learn about the mean which is what matters. It also feels like jahoda's quest. You can tell when it starts and when it ends.

But Flins got the short end of the stick. He is in the plot early, appears multiple times and it makes sense but his "quest" is painfully short. I tried to keep track of it so i could get the free gems and near the end it said i didn't start it yet, then you confront rerir and the whole chapter ends with flins asking if you want some lore dump. I don't remember if i even got a chance to play with him?

Hoyo simply can't integrate them well and it ends up being an issue in their main games.

Genshin wants you to hang out with that character all day and listen to their problems so they force that into the main quest to varying degrees of sucess because not all lore is made equal. 5.8 quest was literally just Inefa's quest that you're forced to do because it has too much lore. While nefer feels like it's not connected enough cause we can't connect it enough but they already commited to this and it's too late.

Star rail gives everyone their time to shine and relevance in the story which sounds good but it's bad because it's too long and overwritten and yapping about muh trauma yadayada. It's almost like... the reason character quests were separated was so they would avoid this... But wait, they tried this with luofu and it was retarded cause you miss the entirety of cloud quintet plot if you don't do their quests...

I assume ZZZ is trying to get everyone involved but the story is being made up as it goes and the double banner spam means have to introduce multiple new characters every patch and have them appear in the story fighting and shit and i guess they leave later like it's WuWa.

And fun fact, the fontaine finale has 2 hours non stop cutscene and talking and whale boss and etc but i guess it was easier to forgive there cause it was better.

It varies. One character gets his or her own character quest and the other gets their backstory shoved into the story. Sometimes they shove both into the main story.

Just from 2.X.
2.0.
Yixuan - main plot
Ju Fufu - character quest.

2.1.
Alice - main plot
Yuzuha - main plot. Hers is particularly insane. Human experiment in some evil facility.

2.2.
Orphie - main plot
Seed - character quest

2.3.
Lucia - character quest + main plot
Yidrahi or whatever the fuck - main plot.

This pattern is not unique for 2.X though.
Both Vivian and Hugo had their character quests shoved into the main plot.

Regarding character involvement, despite 2.3. being about the Spook Shack, only Yuzuha shows up at the beginning and is never seen again. Alice is nowhere to be seen.

Star rail gives everyone their time to shine and relevance in the story which sounds good but it's bad because it's too long and overwritten and yapping about muh trauma yadayada.
The funny thing is that they are very inconsistent with that. For more information, see Anaxa/Castorice. You could even make an argument for Hysilens/Cerydra.

Anaxa didn't get nearly as much attention as Cas and Cerydra played second fiddle to Hysilens.

For reasons known only to the developers, they have multiple checkpoints where you can save and quit during the quest without having to repeat it, but they just don't tell you. I didn't mind it because I played the entire AQ in small chunks over multiple nights so it didn't feel like a gauntlet. But the general rule of thumb is if you move to the next quest in a chain (The transition from the Chess stuff to Nefer's Quest for example) will create one of these check points. I also think moving from one domain to another will do it, but it's not as reliable.

Since I don't have Lauma, I ended up pulling C1 Furina instead of Nefer. Will see if I can get Arle when her banner hits.

New Mecharashi code: KELLYPOLIS, 1 pilot-1 mech

Also got super lucky and got my first double with Camilla and Kelly at 30 and Rex at 40 (Plus an extra arm). Built her up and was actually able to push the content I've been stuck at for like a week and a half now.

Petite Planet footage.
I got a really weird infantile feeling when the first thing I heard was "twinkle twinkle little star".

Is it because I have never played Animal Crossing?

Rolled 10 on the harpy banner and got a card very early (22 i think?) and bought marcus, feels good man. After many retries with different teams, he helped me clear 12-1 sim so i can pray for y-6 chips.. Now idk i get kelly and rex too. Kelly seems to be better dana, she can spam double shots and apply debuffs, while Rex is just a solid light mech for any re-attacker, sniper or melee. But i should be saving Asuka, rei and the evas... the addiction...

Kelly is great, but is one of those where she needs Shawnee's or Natalia's custom weapon to shine. Which isn't coming out for a bit. She's a safe skip (especially if you have Sophie), but seeing her spamming doubleshots 3-4 times a turn is something to see though.

Just about everyone says to grab a copy of Rex then save, save, save.

As for the Harpy Pick, Marcus is solid if you already have Frida and Eileen. It seems they've all been added to the 50/50 loss on rate up banners since I pulled Camilla on Kelly's banner. I wouldn't go for any mechs and just farm them from dispatch/arena though.

So star rail 3.7....I decided to take it in bits so I am not at all done.

The reason why Cyrene looks like that now is because she was changed by thirty million cycles of Rememberance since the whole Amphoreus plot is one giant timeloop/simulation. All that shit was like super protein or something.

Also this.
BARF.png
Ew. Moved on really quickly from Phainon, huh?

Jokes aside, I really can't take the whole thing entirely seriously when the edgy ColdMarch with her goth girl getup is acting like regular March.

Also, Cyrene has a giant Amphoreus-shaped bracelet on her wrist, which I just noticed, and it looks really annoying to wear. It really feels like a subtle way of telling everyone that it's mighty morphin' Cyrene time and you better sway to her beat in cosmos or fuck off for the next two months.

Anyway, she was apparently born in the tomb of the great Titan, not in that peaceful seaside village. She's apparently born from the super secret thirteenth Titan, Demigurge, the big bad who will destroy the entire universe if things aren't fixed...I think.

But hey, this warrants cameos from Xianzhou and IPC. Gives me Penacony flashbacks because they are now getting involved too. Sunday, the resident Kentucky Fried Faggot, even makes comparisons to this by stating that the simulation cycle thingy is far stronger in Amphoreus than Piss on Kony's dreamscape.

If anything, Belobog and Robin are here, but no Galaxy Ranger, which was to be expected, even if Himeko acts disappointed. Weren't the Galaxy Rangers more of a group in name only and not an actual structured organization? Or does MHY just hate Rappa too much?

It's curious there's no word from the Stellaron Hunters. You'd think they would pounce after they gave everyone buffs sans Firefly, but I guess not.

So, in short, we are literally trying to break out of the Matrix. Jesus fucking Christ.

Also, they are just ramping up the pov changes. And the new map has spaceships that feel really shitty to control. Maybe MHY foresaw this reaction, hence why you can do autopilot to your destination.

Anyway, I decided to settle for Hyacine's light cone, given that her kit is broken in half without it. Though I really want Cas' too. But I also want Tribbie, and I am no whale.

Also, I'm on the verge of uninstalling DNA. The controller issue is driving me nuts, and it refuses to save settings. I shut off co-op and the game just reverses that. I booted it up today to see how the updates are going, but it's really shit still.

I know it's a new game and bugs are to be expected but I will be a damn Karen and say that you should at least be somewhat polished when you release a new product, because first impressions are everything. A bad one is what killed Black Beacon, for example. (which, btw should be given an award for having a rerun of a character within the same patch of her debut)

Maybe it's telling that in the opening letter welcoming players to the game, they call it an "open beta". It very much feels like it.

So CZN has a Genshin style gacha system. And I got this situation which I don't know if incredibly lucky or unlucky.
> Next banner announced.
> Cool new character that might be good. But the two 4 star are very mid, while current banner are fantastic.
> 50 pulls to coin flip.
> YOLO, lost the coin flip, got the meta character of the same type as the new character.
> Fuck, let's do another 10 pull so at least reduce the bloat of the next characters.
> Got the banner character.

Did another 20 pulls and will wait for info on new character to see if she is worth the investment. Still missing one element 5 stars, which ironically is the one that has the most characters (also annoying since that means it will be likely in 2 months). There is technically a selector once you reach 300 pulls for the general banner but the rate of gaining these are low, and they are obvious scam.

They did a big update on the 5th that reverted all settings to default. I had to re-adjust mine after it as well, but it seems to be sticking after that. My only complaints anymore is Unlocking characters/weapons takes about double what the rates suggest and there is a huge difficulty spike once you hit WL 45.
