Welkin's and Battlepass ran out and I have a couple other games grabbing my attention so I'm in event mode right now. Decided to skip Shinhe so won't be missing a whole lot until Snake boy comes out.

From what I've seen of the description of her kit, she seems like waifubait Zhongli.

Leakers are saying she is a shielder but i find very unlikely that they'll do a "normal" second 5* geo shielder, because i dont see how she can compete with ZL at all. Outside of mono Geo he's better cause he requires zero effort and shreds everything and inside of monogeo he'd better because he... shreds geo.

What i mean is, Geo is in such a terrible state right now that i assume Mihoyo will try something new here. If she is a geo shielder, she would either have to be one that overrides all the issues with Geo like zhongli. Perhaps a chrystalize specialist that changes the reaction into something useful (we know Nilou can change reactions so its possible).

Also, if she is really sword then she might scale with atk because there is no acessible defense sword (only albedo's), perhaps implying she is not supposed to be played on mono geo with Gorou+itto.

a bit late but holy shit i want to minecraft whatever jackass thought it was a good idea to put the new worm boss in the abyss. after it wastes like a minute flying around you get about 20 seconds to burst it down before it goes back to wasting your time

What hurts is how the abyss worm has much higher resistances than default worm (it has 90% to anemo and 55% else) meaning most teams cant do jack shit until it gets stunned and even then it only stays stunned for ~10s so you cant even get a full rotation. You also only stun it by destroying the anemo balls and to destroy 2 at once you need either a big AoE skill or a special archer which is already limiting.

Like, at least PMA, wolflord and Ruin Serpent take normal damage and get stunned for +15s so if you have a good team you can keep doing consistent damage to kill them during the first stun but the worm feels like it was "balanced" around only dying after two stuns.
I was doing previous chambers with ayato/ganyu/ayaka/kaz and i was going to change here but somehow i won on a few tries. My ayaka has 160+ ER (dont ask) so got 5 bursts (1 on each stun) in and i keep shooting it with ganyu and breaking the balls by accident. It worked out but i feel was only cause Kazuha allowed me to damage while it moved so it added up over time.

The fact that the first chamber was seems to be intentionally easy, with 1 robot + 2 lawachu (perfect national fodder) so you have +2 min to spare on second chamber which is just enough to stun the boss twice. I dont see a non-whale clearing this in less than 90s.

i've never spent money on this game aside from BP (which i stopped a while back since i got all the good weapons to r5) and welkin, but i've been playing since around a month after launch so my account is pretty stacked. i tried floor 12 twice, ayaka freeze team on the worm side first and ganyu melt second. still couldn't get more than 2 stars. to put it in perspective, my ganyu's charge shots hit for 150k+ on the bloom alone. this isn't to brag, it's just baffling to me how they expect anyone but whales to clear shit like this.
i might go back and try again later, i'm sure i can do it but it's more of a question of if i'm willing to go through all that for an extra 50 primogems

I've been playing for more than a year with welkin and finally reached AR60 yesterday (yay...) so i have a lot of good units but yea, this boss is not something easily bruteforced. You NEED a very specific team that isnt burst reliant but still has some sort of nuke after stunning AND a lot of range+mobility to keep up.

(playing without a healer against the knights was a mistake, kazuha had literally 51 hp left for final round).

If you want other team ideas, the teams i've seen most used to clear this boss is always some variation of nahida/xq/kuki hyperbloom because

1-Nahida and kuki dont have cd or energy issues at all and XQ with sac sword doesnt either.
2-Deepwood 30% Res shred is one of the only ways to damage this boss before it gets stunned.
3-This is a braindead comp. Just use your skills and attack with nahida, hyperbloom is homing.
4-Kuki's burst has weirdly tall hitbox and can hit lower anemo balls and stun the boss.

Some variation with raiden, yelan or zhongli works too but you get the idea. You can play melt ganyu but you dont get much time to do charge shots so you would either need nahida to keep reburning the enemy (xiangling aint keeping up) or a c6 ganyu to spam while its stunned. Withou vv or a second strong dps it would be hard, best for meltyu would be kazuha who can apply vv and reburn with nahida (surprisignyl strong DoT).

My personal favourite meltyu team is ganyu/bennet/kaz/nahida for mobs but in this comp i barely do charge attacks, its mostly swap skill spam while everything burns+melts around you. Worked great against triple kenki.

Either way two unrelated but curious things i learned on this abyss were that

1-Yae is seemingly very popular on this past abysses and there are big arguments now that she is a "top tier" unit. Yes dendro made her stronger but her real strenght was always having massive range meaning she actually pops off super good against bosses that run away like wolflord, ruin serpent and now anemo worm. Her burst also lets her nuke stunned bosses and her energy issues are solved by hyperbloom generating purple energy.

2-The shadow husk knights rooms are now designed to literally EXPLOIT chrystalize against you. They put the geo rockslide aura on them meaning if you get hit by an element and the rockslide, they will proc chrystalize and have ashield, meaning the enemies will get buffed and stall/kill you. This is why my team almost died, the buffed geo knight almost one shotted them.

Sorry geo bros, chrystalize is so thrash right now that it only exists to empower enemies...

i've tried nahida in the team after seeing people posting about it and it feels like a meme honestly. burning can't keep up with ganyu's charge shots so you have to delay them to wait for it to reapply, just feels like wasting time and damage. xiangling is far more consistent and adds a lot of damage so i don't see the point in swapping tbh.
you're right though, charge shots are too slow to burst him down. i'll try hyperbloom later

ganyu+nahida+bennet by themselves is pure copium from my experience, you cant burst with ganyu or you override the burning, you have to play extremely tight or else you miss your chance, and your overall dps isnt that great.

The idea behind ben+Kazuha+nahida is that Kazuha's gonna burst on bennet's burst and keep swirling pyro off field on burning enemies and since both he and nahida should have +900 em, the burning actually has pretty solid Dmg. And THEN you add ganyu buffed by bennet (and if possibly kaz) and it's starts getting nutty against hordes.

I have tried ganyu/ben/xl/zhongli before and while i get the point, it feels either my 180 er xiangling cant burst off cd against bosses and against mobs i lose too much time running around and leaving the circle. I find Kaz huge AoE pull makes it a lot easier to group and stunlock mobs so it's just easier to use, but my Kaz is C2 so my experience is definitely biased (he has no energy issues but stays on field longer than usual).

Good luck as you try but dont get stressed over it, i've seen a looot of people so angry about anemo worm they gave up trying to 9* this floor 12.

Speaking of genshin, tectone and Mtashed are the biggest cows in the community. Tectone might be the Ralph of gacha games

I only ever see people shittalk tectone and mtashed so i have no idea how those losers ever became some of the greatest youtubers (other than drama i guess). 99% genshin content creators are bad and i have never learned anything useful, and yet youtube keeps recommending me these losers who recycle the same thing over and over.

I'm glad I read this abyss talk before trying it today, because I had already written off 9 stars and happily took my 7. I've never even seen this snake boss before, I'm not going to try to sweat out an absurdly tanky version of it for 50 primos.

Genshin youtubers are all terminally online twitch-brained lolcows. They also all seem to have some weird compulsion to mispronounce characters' names intentionally or get really elitist about how names are supposed to be pronounced.

I used to listen to JinJinx and Tuner for a while, and I honestly don't think they ever once called Albedo anything other than "Alfredo." Because funny nickname. I also watched a zajeff video recently and he kept calling Candace "Canducka."

I remember when Tighnari was new everyone was so afraid of mispronouncing his name, and TenTen released an entire video where he only referred to him as "this character." It's like it was accepted around launch that no one in the English speaking world could pronounce Chinese names correctly, so no one cared, but once Sumeru came around everyone is doing their best Arabic and Hindustani accents because the official English dub (i.e. the source material) is "wrong."

Also, since I'm sperging about names, I find it weird that Yae Miko and Kuki Shinobu are the only Inazuma characters that people refer to as their surname. Characters in game call them Miko and Shinobu, people online call them Yae and Kuki.

Even when I started Genshin, looking for Genshin guide videos on youtube. Neither of these names popped up in my search, I had no idea who they were til browing Genshin reddit and all I can see people hate Tectone a lot. Zero mentioning about Mtashed.

Thanksfully, my friend give me the community spreadsheet build early so I don't really have to look far for build guide and may-may not endure cringe of Genshin CC. At least maybe to see what kind of meme or whales team comp doing in Abyss, and a bit of general consensus character strength over the time.

There is Zajef recently, imagine being this upset about this opinion.

1) Dummies don't understand Asian naming order.
2) Yae and Kuki are shorter-easier to remember and say than their given name. Just look at Ayato/Ayaka, Kuzuha, Itto and Kokomi family names. Especially on Kazuha and Kokomi, it's like MHY goes full autistic with these two.
Maybe "Miko" and "Shinobu" sounds generic more than "Yae" and "Kuki".

180 er xiangling
yeah that's around the bare minimum for this team unfortunately. mine has 220 and that feels like just enough to be able to burst off cooldown without having to waste time batterying with bennett. i've tried the kazuha variants and they feel a lot clunkier and have much less consistent pyro application (kazuha 8s up, 15s cooldown vs c6 xiangling 14s up, 20s cooldown), and with my gear i doubt kazuha's vv shred would add enough damage to keep up with what xiangling puts out (70/140 crit, not counting r5 catch)

i went back and tried abyss, 3 star clear first try with kokomi/nahida/xingqiu/raiden hyperbloom. just goes to show team composition is just as important as raw dps a lot of the time in abyss

Yeah, the main genshin subreddit seems to hate mtashed and tectone for drama but for some reasons zajef is incredibly popular when AFAIK he seems to be an actual lolcow who argues with his twitch viewers all the time. The bizarre thing to me is that he seems to have a very edgy/channer type of humor but his takes are always agressively politically correct.

I also have no idea how this zajef grew so fast, i remember months ago when the leak subreddit was shilling this guy non stop with "zajef said this zajef said that" and the dude was a small channel with less than 10k subs, but now he seems to be THE most recommended genshin youtuber i see on both genshin and leaks subreddits.

People say his content is "good" in the sense that he does the math but these people always forget that genshin is a game and not a spreadsheet so things are always more complex than numbers. I'm also not gonna clap at someone for finding out the best weapon for a character is... their designated banner weapon wow.

But going back to stuff that actually matters, i rolled 10 on shenhe to see if i'd get a mika (i wouldnt mind get spooked) and guess who came early at 48 pity?

1679854957504.png

The last standard banner 5* i got was tighnari's c1 so i was starting to lose hope but there it goes, after 3000 years. It's Now the only standard character i dont have is Jean and then dehya. 🥳

What's funny is I've literally never heard of Mtashed or Techtone. I watched Zy0x until he couldn't slow down his ADHD riddled mind to talk about a subject. Xlice, Sevy and Moga tend to be my go to's on character reviews with Rawfler for the comedy.

I missed most of the Dehya doomposting, but if anyone's still looking for potential teams to play around with, I've had a lot of fun using her as a fill in between Hu Tao rotations for some overvape nonsense.

dehya gaming.PNG

Your mileage may vary depending on your Xingqiu/Yelan's ER stats, but she can comfortably fill the gap after a typical Hu Tao rotation by recasting Oz and using Dehya's burst in the downtime. It's not optimal because nothing about Dehya is optimal, but if you like hyperactive teams that trigger a lot of reactions, it's pretty fun.

It's a shame how they handled her. If they made her skill proc more often or improved the scaling, she could have been a decent sidegrade on a lot of teams, but Hoyoverse is way too afraid of making their recent defensive characters do any significant amount of damage so what can you do. I'd love it if she got buffed, but I'm not holding my breath.

I started playing this again last weekend after spending maybe 5 hours on this game when it launched back in 2020.

And fuck, it ended up finally hooking me.

I come bearing the Stream Codes

9ARE6VLJT34H
KBRE7D4KA2MM
7S9X6V4JB2M9

Also they put all the new characters in the Second Banner Wave this patch - first is Nahida and Nilou, second is Baizhu and Ganyu ft. Kaveh.
