Limbus Company fans are very chill. The male fanbase from South Korea (as usual) is a different topic. TLDR; they got mad that Ishmael summer skin wasn't your typical fanservice. They started making a theory that her character designer is a feminist. They wanted to track her down and get her fired from Project Moon. People like to blame western fans on everything that is bad, but the Chinese and Korean fans are on some next level of being deranged.
The whole feminist stuff is also what caused drama in Girls Frontline. K7 was good to go but Koreans founds out that the artist was allegedly a radical feminist and blew a gasket about it in a boycott so the character got cut.
A shame because I like her design. Oh well.

Anyway apparently Korean feminists are allegedly severely unhinged and proudly sexist. On the level of "ISIS extrimism."

Anyway the team behind GF cut the cord and quelled the upset. It's alleged that the CCP might also have a hand in this.

Pardon the unflattering link dump here as I'm on mobile but this reddit post goes into the thick of it.

Nah, they're just quiet and want to live their lives in peace. They wouldn't even need to do any of that if Korean moids weren't so crappy. The only moids worse than Koreans are probably Indians. People rag on Japan for being creepy, but Korea is every creepy thing you know about Japan times 10.

I suspected it was as such. Just funny that the artist's assumed political leanings were such a trigger where people flipped the fuck out over it.

Rip K7. Her design was cool.

Korean moids are another level of mental; they're basically cistroons in terms of their deplatforming and cancelling campaigns. They make Andrew Tate look like a reasonable moderate in comparison.

From what I've seen korea just has both sides of the derangement going on in the US plus 20 points. There was that controversy a while back where a ton of female korean politicians were in some kind of money laundering scientology cult thing and using taxpayer dollars for luxury items or some shit a few years back. Koreans in general got a level of mental shit going on you can't really chalk up to foids or moids or even the fucking noid himself.

Rest in piss gachafags. Imagine throwing a fucking tantrum on a fictional jpeg you call a "character".

Wonder if Koreans learned from the Snowbreak weirdos. I cannot fathom the amount of brain rot it attracts. Going full harem coom saved the game but also sort of doomed the team. Truly a monkey's paw. It's kinda fascinating and far more interesting than typical western virtue signal lunacy.

But alas it is still gacha retardation with a different flavor.

That's like an annual thing for higher-up politicans from the second best Korea. Hardly any one at the top leaves without being persecuted for some financial shit. Also "some cult" is Moonies, aka Unification Church. Very influential there, and the racket they're pulling off can make any other organized church jealous. Because of connection to them, Abe got shot. And it's not even the worst problem here. It's like their society took the worst parts of collectivist asian feudalism and modern capitalism. And they drown their problems in all types of hedonism. Also depends on how much money you have. Gachas are for plebs, for example.

One of the big main similarities both a friend and I noticed was that the fire arena city looks just like the fucking kohli stadium from mask of light.
Late, but aside from the Kolhii stadium it also made me think of the Coliseum from Metru Nui. Where the Matoran would gather for all their events and whatnot. (Also the thing where they need heroes to fight the calamity is basically the Toa gathering to fight the Makuta)

You'd never expect conversations regarding this specific gacha game to be civilized, considering how toxic the playerbase is seen as, but yet here we are.

One thing everyone skips over in these Korean gender war discussions is that all South Korean men, including the celebrities, have to enlist, sacrifice years of their life, get hazed, and prepare for a future where a lot of them will inevitably sacrifice themselves for their country. Meanwhile the women are all exempt from this. It doesn't help either that the war in Ukraine basically gave them a preview of what that type of future will look like: a lot of the women fleeing abroad and making "sad" TikToks while you stay behind and die in a trench, all while the ladies still have the same rights as you and can even become leaders of the government and even the very military they can't be conscripted into.

This sort of dynamic would make any culture of men a little more hostile toward the opposite sex.

Conscription doesn't justify how absolutely horrendous Korean moids are, unless you think that making deep fake porn of middle schoolers and raping their sisters for views are reasonable responses to slight hostilities.

Korea has just stewed in its dogshit gender roles for so long with so little pushback that it's men have become the perfectly distilled essence of entitlement.

Wouldn't you want to sacrifice yourself for your country? Even if you don't consider yourself super patriotic, you must have some sense of duty or obligation to your country, especially if it's one of the only things standing in the way of countries you consider to be corrupt. I wouldn't voluntarily sacrifice myself for my country, but if I got drafted, I sure wouldn't dodge. Also your life will only be bad in the military if you don't have any applicable skills; you could get a nice cushy job decoding radio transmissions, controlling aircraft, or even developing weapons if you have the education. If you didn't put much into your life up to then, you won't get much out of the rest of it.

Good. In times of war, when everyone is uptight, women keep civilian life stable while the men get to channel their stress and fear into defending freedom.

I think a fan base that's just as radioactive is the Snowbreak fans. I have never played it and my only knowledge of it is the amount of stupid but hilarious drama it creates because Chinese gacha fans are evidently super degenerate and the devs course corrected super hard.
Yeah I recall hearing something about western Snowbreak fans specifically being really toxic. From what I've played of the game, it's okay, despite the gameplay loop being a bit repetitive.

Yeah, I think most sane people would agree that deepfake porn in general is bad, but deepfake porn of middle schoolers is just 10,000 times worse. Didn't South Korea have a porn ban?

Is this game even worth playing or is the autism vortex around it a big enough red flag to steer clear of it?
On its own, it's fine. Same as Star Rail and ZZZ. The fandom is ass, stay clear of that one. Lots of overlap.

Edit:
Depends on if you need a community to enjoy something if you have no ability to control your own autism.
Sort of unrelated but somewhat ass that you have to have a friend with a teapot to advance its level for more blueprints.

Eh, I didn't like the gameplay at launch because of the overreliance on pulling duplicates to make characters viable. With no other system in place to help mitigate this like Azur lane's Universal Bulins. Especially with the ever growing roster of characters.

Figured as much. It was the overreliance on seemingly unobtainable non-gem, non-farmable in game currency required for powering up characters that made me not get very far into the game before dropping it and thinking nothing more of it. No idea how these games exploded in popularity like they did.

Yeah, it's a bit much. Azur Lane's system is much better IMO but alas, it won't get people to whale as much I guess.

I'd make the argument that Star Rail is somewhat easier to farm in than Genshin since it's an RPG with an auto-battle feature and a support system if you have people on a friend list with maxed-out characters.

Of course, there's a fuckton of things to level up which can be overwhelming. And both games have a rather low cap for this other super duper special currency you need in order to farm.

Plus Genshin's farming is locked to certain days of the week. And overall, it's no big deal since there's a bunch of shit to do elsewhere. But it's still weird to me when Star Rail and ZZZ have no such thing.

As to how they got popular? COVID, anime, the internet.

Full disclosure, I'm a somewhat new player. Started in August this year so I am a bit green myself.
