Apparently there's a clause in his contract that if he fucks up just once they can fire him.
I would hope that after 40 years of Vince being in the business, having a "one fuck up and you're gone" rule is a necessity, considering the lunatic personalities that have been in the WWF/WWE.

Remember that Vince put up with 15 years of Shawn Michaels, I think that clause in their contract is probably standard.

You're starting to sound like Mirror Noir
News outlets like Daily Mail are covering it though. It's a behavior clause that will allow them to terminate him for whatever they want. The only reason why they're doing this because it's something rather new for a wrestling promotion to do so it's somewhat major. Sorry, but I base my reports on things others have reported on like a proper wrestling journalist, not come up with fantasy booking shit like some schizo.

While currently there is no hard evidence (after all we rarely get the see the full contents of their contracts until years later. Probably due to some form of NDA), this would be something Endeqvour would want, not so much with WWE. After all, they kept Matt Riddle employed for years. If this wasn't close to the merger being finalized I doubt they'd even care. Plus there's talks about them wanting to go private. They don't want their stocks to plummet due to some bullshit.

I would imagine that Punk is on a very tight leash in his current WWE deal rather than whatever sweetheart deal TK had him on in his AEW run.

He only really got the boot from AEW because the EVPs didn't give two shits about him because they realised he's very much broken down and worthless to anyone but himself but he could still encroach on their spot on reputation alone so they forced TKs hand to get rid of him rather than them.

Essentially, WWE could bring him back on a 3 year deal to job in every single match he has whereas AEW had to put the belt on him for publicity.

Not sure if Kenny really cared since he was out injured for a year while Phil was there, but I don't think the Bucks did since their focus is the tag division. Jericho didn't seem to like him and he seems to have a lot of power there despite not being an EVP, I think they may have offered it to him at some point but I don't remember. Could explain why no one in the JAS did anything with Phil. Moxley also doesn't seem to like Phil either and he also seems to hold a lot of sway there.

I would agree that he had a good deal there since he didn't lose too many matches. He was constantly put over and given pretty much free reign.

I do think that the Bucks probably wanted a trios match against Phil and FTR until Phil fucked up his foot.

Mirror Noir is more likely to make a coherent post before that comes true, and he's a retarded lunatic.
Vince maybe a manchild at times, but he's no where near as bad as Tony is. Probably because Tony came into money early in life and Vince did not. Even without Vince at tapings there's more than enough handlers at their shows to keep Phil in line. He's also kept away from talent. The only person I could see doing anything is Roman, and that's only verbally but that's as we've seen is all that is needed to set Phil off. Luckily he wont have to deal with anyones Promo's as they're all written for the majority of the wrestlers with very little input into them unless you're someone like Kevin Owens, Sami Zane, Roman, Paul Heyman, or Cody who all have input on their promos.

Holy shit I think you are right:
https://youtube.com/watch?v=nhiGNo6yCtw that's him with the painted face at 53 seconds.
That's him for sure, I'd recognize that faggot smirk of his anywhere. Screenshot_20231211_041723_Firefox.jpg

Dave said Elimination Chamber only sold 7000 tickets. Turns out it actually has sold well over 30k tickets. This has been an outrageously bad year for dirtsheet writers. Like how can anyone believe what any of these people "report" at this point lmfao

Dave seems to have lost whatever contacts he had within WWE. I don't know if it's because of the Endeavor buyout or talent he was close with leaving, or maybe they're just running a tighter ship now.
how is UFC for dirtsheets?
not meant rhetorically, I honestly have no idea what the state of rumors and "news" is for that world, but it might be an indication of how things would be handled by the same parent company

Dave covers MMA in the Observer but it's nothing like wrestling where he pretends to have an inside man, it's just mostly talking about the business.

Well, I don't mean meltyman specifically, but yeah if they try to keep a lid on things then they might try the same in WWE

MMA doesn't have the same dynamic as pro-wrestling because it's individual training camps/gyms rather than one big touring locker room. If guys don't like each other in MMA they can be open about it because they don't have to spend time around each other unless they are fighting each other so dirtsheets don't need to exist in the business because the fighters will just call each other cunts on twitter.

In other news, Seth Rollins has the chance to make the most hilarious move in wrestling history next year because that's when his current WWE deal is running out. I got to wonder if he'd entertain jumping ship to get matches with Ospreay and Omega knowing full well he could still come back to WWE after it.

I mean it'd just be really embarrassing to go to aew like every ex wwe action figure Tony khan collects having "bangers" in half empty bingo halls when he was main eventing sold out stadiums

That's assuming that Tony doesn't complete the WCW Speedrun and have to shutter the company within the next year. They have what, a year and change before they'll've been on TV for the same amount of time Nitro was, and honestly completing the speedrun would be the funnier outcome.
