The biggest problem with modern wrestling is that most wrestlers have subscribed to the idea that they need to do spots and they need to chase star ratings to get over and grow the business.

I get that things need to evolve and I like action too, but at the end of the day, they need to have personalities that connect with a wider audience and stories to make us want to see those characters fight.

Of all the talents today, I think my top five favorites to watch are LA Knight, Cody Rhodes, MJF, Gunther, and Ricky Starks. That list is mostly guys that got over with me by talking or presenting themselves in a way that makes them interesting and fun to watch.

I never got the appeal it's just a really generic repetitive guitar rift like Hogan coming out to voodoo child I can get but not the actual NWO theme
It's a banger sorry

It's less of a banger if Scott Hall isn't sauntering down to the ring oozing charisma and vicodin sweat at the same time tho

Everytime I hear the theme, it just shoots me back to the late 90's and watching the parade of jobbers walk down with the three superstars of the time in WCW. Basic themes make for the most memorable themes.

Basic themes make for the most memorable themes.
The only real exceptions I can think of to this, for original music that are actually fully constructed songs, are Chris Warren's DX and Trips "My Time" themes, and Jericho's original WWF theme. Jericho's Fozzy AEW theme is good but not particularly memorable imo

last I saw gays dress better
it's like he starts at "gay" then adds "trash club people" and a dose of onlines
I feel like Rollins' whole gimmick is dressing like Kanye West if Kanye West were to give up any pretext of trying to look like a straight man. Nigger × faggot "avant-garde" "street style".

I forgot to bring it up Saturday after watching Collision, but it seems Tony's booking of faces is more Vince-ish that he'll admit. The show ended with four dudes beating the shit out of Nick Wayne. Yeah I get he's a heel now, but I certainly wasn't cheering Edge spearing an 18 year old kid.
All that did was make me root for Nick Wayne, who I had absolutely no interest in before, for taking the beating like a man instead of attempting to roll out of the ring.

There are a lot of Vince-esque segments on AEW lately. Like how they'll have two guys arguing, and then another guy comes out, and then another guy comes out, and then it's kind of a circle-jerk until they all decide to beat each other up. Little things that annoyed me about WWE, then WWE stopped doing them, and now AEW does them.

*spooky hands*
I miss Scott so much
seriously if ever REALLY want to piss off somebody in traffic, you don't flip them off, do the Scott Hall spooky fingers and durr face
one time a guy went from honking to rolling down his window and screaming a pile of nc-17 vulgarities across his kid in the passenger seat when I threw that at him
if he had a gun he probably would have pulled it lol

one time at a con there was a vhs deck in the room. hit play to see what comes on
[nwo music and fucking intensifies]

Thank God that wasn't FTR Gun you crossed paths with.

Jim Cornette, after decades of howling about Orange Man and complaining about how heels can't do offensive things to get heat anymore, has come out as a fully zogged Israel supporter and went on a big long rant about how MJF and Juice shouldn't have done the quarters promo. This is a guy who called members of the Guerrero family border hoppers in Texas who's siding with the cancel mob while at the same time complaining about how heels can't get heat. News flash- if they truly can't get heat anymore, this is exactly the reason why. 40 years ago, if the heel said or did something awful, people would be buying tickets to see him beat up. Now they email management and tweet at them to try to get the guy blacklisted from the business and claim they're not being worked. Corny, after stating all of this verbatim, still said they shouldn't have done the angle. And with Brian kvetching in the background it was the most insufferable thing I'd ever listened to.

I've changed my podcast of choice to Dutch Mantell lately. Even-tempered guy, no Conrad talking over him, says many of the same things about wrestling that Cornette does, which I like, without the midwit political rants.
Yeah I’m getting tired of the whole “heels beating up the one guy then the other guy runs out and the heels try to attack him but only one by one so he can hit his finisher on them and the other heels stand there and wait their turn” nonsense.
Also the “heels roll out of the ring and run away” thing is annoying when they’re not cowardly heels.
The "two faces rush the ring and fight off eight heels" trope is annoying, since it effectively kills any heat for the inevitable match between the faces and heels. It's hard to get excited for the faces to finally get their hands on the heels at the PPV when they've already ran the heels off outnumbered 4 to 1.

The "Great" Brian Last having a full-on meltdown over it on the latest Corny episode was hilarious though, you gotta admit.
Dirty Dutch is great. I've never really given his pod a try but he has the best Youtube thumbnail faces in the game

Jim Cornette is a retard example number gotta wait until the international math committee gives a name to this staggeringly huge number of zeroes after the 1
