Sting is going to "address the fans" on Dynamite this week so it looks like he is probably retiring.

He's been working far fewer matches recently than when he started in AEW. All in all, he had a good final run and it will be nice for him to have a proper last match at Full Gear or whenever.
Revolution would be a good show to do a final match at and drop his legacy to someone else. Though I was hoping to see one more person dress up as surfer Sting one last time during an angle.

Of all the recent criticism of Tony Khan, I find the "outrage" about the so called " antisemitic" angle with MJF, To be the least justified. If this shit popped off 30 years ago, Vince Mcmahon would have dusted off the Iron Sheik to make some hay with it. And 40-50 years ago, the old time regional promoters would all almost certainly run their version of the same. Considering modern day sensibilities, perhaps it was a misguided decision, but let's not pretend it's unprecedented in the history of rasslin.
MJF introduced the angle on TV - twice. I can't imagine him not approving the angle either.

So this idea that "racist" Tony Khan forced it on the wrestlers is fucking retarded. He would never have done it without MJF agreeing to it.

It's just a continuance of his storyline with Phil after mentioning how he was always bullied in school for being a Jew. He also hasn't said it's about being just a Jew but about those being bullied in general now which a lot of people have missed.

Seth Rollins really does continue to break new ground in very silly looking gear.

Yeah he dresses like a fag
I've read some articles and even my wife verified this, that the war between the Jews and the Sand niggers would hurt the fashion industry but she wasn't able to explain to me as to why Rollins continues to look like a fashion runway reject.

I’m gonna reserve judgement, but I’m not too sure why Judgement Day would just win back the tag titles a few weeks later.

It's to push the Jey/Cody vs Bloodline storyline. Judgement Day will probably hold the titles for a while now, until Priest finally breaks out with the MITB.

I'm personally rooting Alpha Academy get a run with the titles (as in actual run, not win 'em and drop 'em back in two weeks.)

It's very interesting to me that we get confirmation that Triple H is in charge of creative, and suddenly this Smackdown we get a tease of Roman vs Cody. After a good few shows of seeming to course correct into Cody just hanging around suddenly we go back. I think if Cody and LA Knight are pushed at the same time we'll end up with something similar to The Rock and Austin where you have two "main guys" instead of putting all the eggs in the basket of Cena or Roman. The attitude era was strong because there was so much talent and the talent was actually pushed. You essentially had a "main cast" of top talent like Jericho, Test, Taker, Kane, Eddie, Al Snow, Regal. As opposed to one guy at the top and everyone else lingering in the midcard. Hell you got guys like Bron Breaker waiting in the wings. Even more potential for more than one top guy. This is a good thing if it all works out and WWE don't find an innovative way to fuck everything up. We shall see what happens.

I'm not trying to make out Triple H is a master booker and Vince is keeping him down. After all it was Vince who went to Cody to get him back. But it is fascinating to see the politics at play and how it effects the actual shows. However what I really want is some good fucking wrestling. If WWE offers compelling matches and storylines I will watch that. Same with AEW. But AEW is a shitshow run by a manchild who wants to book an E-Fed IRL. So WWE is my only hope right now dangling these carrots of actual quality.

I forgot to bring it up Saturday after watching Collision, but it seems Tony's booking of faces is more Vince-ish that he'll admit. The show ended with four dudes beating the shit out of Nick Wayne. Yeah I get he's a heel now, but I certainly wasn't cheering Edge spearing an 18 year old kid.
Yeah I’m getting tired of the whole “heels beating up the one guy then the other guy runs out and the heels try to attack him but only one by one so he can hit his finisher on them and the other heels stand there and wait their turn” nonsense.
Also the “heels roll out of the ring and run away” thing is annoying when they’re not cowardly heels.

For once I want there to be a heel (preferably one who is big and imposing) who beats up the other wrestler and THEN beats up the dudes who storm the ring to “save” the other wrestler. Like I want a heel that stands there victorious over the bodies of the heroes he just vanquished.

Idk why wrestling is the only entertainment medium where it’s still the black and white good vs evil shit. The morally gray area is boring and tiresome in films these days but would be refreshing in pro wrestling.
Tweeners exist but few and far between.

On Smackdown when Roman made mention of how he didn't like Jey and Cody walking around with the tag titles to Jimmy, it should've set something off for everyone that Jimmy would interfere and keep Cody and Jey involved in that instead of just floating around with the Judgment Day. Not to even mention the staredown Cody and Roman had on Smackdown. It's just good storytelling.

I miss the early NWO days when Nash/Hogan/Hall would just beat the living shit out of say Savage or Sting and anyone who tried to help and then spray paint their bodies.
