I am curious if Punk had intelligent conversations with Titus O'Neil about Roe v. Wade since Titus debuted in WWE when Punk was still with the company. A quick Google search on Titus' early life and this video reveals Titus was conceived through rape and his mother refused to get an abortion. His upbringing and philanthropy work shows that people created through an act of evil can overcome that stigma and make a difference in the world for the better.

That is a wholesome video. I love the honesty. Titus is a great dude. I'm sure he's got strong opinions on "current year" things as he's a devout Christian, but I haven't seen much of it out there. I don't think Punk is a faggot for being a lib, I think he's a faggot for being a mouthy lib who has to preach to me.

Left or right, just shut up and wrestle.

Because unlike Punk and others that can't shut the fuck up, Titus has a brain and uses it.

I’d still rather have Punk be champion than Handwash. God the hype died the minute he pinned Omega didn’t it.
Hangman’s Title Reign can be summed up as “The Journey was FAR better than the Destination”. Like, the story to getting to Hangman beating Omega was great - even if he DID fuck off for a few months and delayed the entire thing-, but there was clearly no follow through planned, even before AEW signed significantly better/more popular talent. His first match after beating Hangman being a draw against Danielson definitely set the tone for his entire reign.

There’s a reason that most Babyfaces worked better when they were chasing the title, rather than when they were holding it. Punk might be a sperg on Twitter - most people on that site are - , but if he can keep that off TV then he’s probably the best choice to take the title off of Hangman, that isn’t tied up in a Tag Team…

Edit to avoid Double Post - We’re getting Jeff Hardy vs Darby Allin. Please god, put that on TV - I need to see what kind of car crash those two can get up to. Apparently I only had to wait like, 5 minutes to get that confirmed

My favorite part of Handwash’s reign was when Archer hit the Blackout onto the turned over steps.
Really wish they didn’t bury the Blackout by making Wardlow kick out. Shoulda just had Archer not be able to hit the move.

Wardlow match was worse than the Lance Archer match though I can't say I had high hopes with this one. Promo at the end was easy to predict. (Was the crowd chanting nZo at one point in the match?)
So it only took a CM Punk match to make Hangman creditable. I like how they're trying to make him heel in this but there was quite a few people in the crowd not liking Punk.
The Jericho match was a typical AEW Jericho match. Going to just skip these again as you could just run one on repeat and no one is going to notice.
Where the fuck is this thing with Julia Hart going? She's going to sell this eye patch thing for the next decade isn't she like Nick with his back/ leg.
Why must Jade have a crew? She was better without them.
I would rather have had Dante win the qualifier match than Rey
Deonna Purrazzo has a huge ass. Also, the fans didn't give a shit about this match. (Tony continues to bury ROH talent)

Also, poor Toni Storm has to pay second fiddle to the washed up soccer mom. First she appears on Dark and now this.

Yes, because they didn't mention that it has happened before and protected by saying no one kicks out of it twice.

Crowd was chanting nZo, yeah. Not sure if Morrissy being pissed about that was just him keeping in character or not - can’t imagine he’s happy that most people still associate his with nZo, guy’s likely still pretty radioactive as far as backstage heat generation goes.

In fairness, AEW’s had like, one Women’s Match worth remembering, and it was the Lights Out match - and we’re likely not going to see that again, considering the apparent heat between Baker and Rosa.

That entire division, imo, needs a good gut job

Glad Rey Fenix won. Dante needs to be shelved just like his brother. He’s generic skinny flippy wrestler. They’ve got guys that have much more charisma, name recognition and Star power. I see Dante being let go down the road. He’s totally unconvincing.

Dante is one of those guys that might be more believable a few years down the road - it’s a big might, but considering he got over mostly off of telling gravity to fuck off, he mostly just needs promo lessons. Charisma is definitely a thing where you either have it or you don’t, but as long as he isn’t Lee Johnson levels of bad promo he should be fine.

Definitely has a ceiling - ironically enough - in the lower mid card, but I’d argue for at least finally pulling the plug on Top Flight, considering his brother seems to be just an injury magnet.

I think it's a little from column a and little from column b.

They have good women on the roster but they have an equal amount of dead weight. They also have no one in the back that cares about women's wrestling.

I find that he's a solid upper mid card and someone you can have in the main event to show that someone can take out high flyers with unique offenses. He has great charisma in the ring but when it comes to talking, even in vlogs, he just fails. A lot of people thought he and his brother would be the next Young Bucks in terms of talent, but his brother seems to be made out of crystal glass. At least by himself he has the potential to become the next Matt Sydal as someone who can be shuffled anywhere on the card.

IV can still sorta go, but yes. The Villanos as in the guys in WCW twenty years ago were the same Villanos that wrestled the Psycho Circus at Triplemania on Sunday.

They were originally setting up for Blue Demon jr vs Villano IV mask v mask, and then dropped that (along with every other plan) for a family-based feud against the clowns. Psycho Clown (leader of the Psycho Circus) was introducing his sister Goya Kong and then Villano ruined everything because Villanos / Brazos (the family Goya and Psycho are from) is an old feud.
in case you need reminding of how fucking old BD jr and Villano IV are in case that ends up the main event of Triple-est-mania 2022, here's a post from literally almost a decade ago

I agree to an extent. Buy my initial point is that they’ve got guys that DO have charisma that can do the same shit Dante does.
He might be a good ROH fit tho.

Lol @ Phil not knowing who is on the Supreme Court or that the case has been argued and flip-floped around the longer than he's been alive. The court decided that it's up to the individual states to decide instead of at a federal level. That's what the spirit of the constitution states, that no one government would rule over all states. It's also why we have shit like different statutes of limitations for crimes, who can and can't smoke weed, etc. There are also dumb laws that are still on the books. Did you know a 'falls count anywhere' match in Billings, Montana is technically illegal? Performers and entertainers must remain in the stage area at all times.

But here's the great part that Phil doesn't really understand. If they want, they can VOTE for their state to make it a law, and Illinois is considered a "blue" state, so it shouldn't be that difficult.

The issue is that the left see abortion as an "all or nothing" issue. IE abortion has to be legal in all 50 states or else. The fact that we are going back to balkanization on the issue means that SOME people won't be able to get abortion and that to the left, that is just not acceptable PERIOD.

And even then, abortion is a third rail issue that is legislative dynamite for BOTH sides. Blue states or purple states might have legal abortion now, but the right and normies who don't like abortion might vote in GOP politicians to flip the state red so it an be banned and even New York and California might not be immune to this. Same with red states; the left now has their excuse to launch a new version of Howard Dean's 50 State Initiative to try and flip pretty much every state (a policy Obama abandoned) all on the back of making abortion legal again.

For Phil and FTR and others on AEW's roster who are pro-abortion, this is a huge deal because (again) they are among the folks who are "it has to be all or its nothing" on abortion.

And they are not alone. A LOT of people are of the mind that they want abortion to be legal purely in the hypothetical "rare" case when you have a case of rape/incest or to save the mom's life. And worse of all, it is the sort of thing that would give the RINO element of the GOP the wedge issue to neutralize the Trump populist wing, in favor of re-empowering the Evangelicals, who have been kicked to the curb Willy Wonka "You Get Absolutely Nothing!" style since Trump came along.

That Deeb/Rosa promo was so fucking weak. They just went around in circles and no one in the crowd gave a single shit.

They are having a match at DoN that will probably be great but they still need to get the belt off Rosa. She's just awful at everything aside from wrestling, you can't have someone like that as your champ for any length of time.

EDIT: The RoH womens title match was decent but fuck me the AEW crowd are absolute cunts when they aren't that interested in something. They started using the old style of crowd lighting again last night and you could see that most of the 40-year-old toy collecting gamers just sat there with their arms crossed and a pissy look on their faces the whole match. It's ten minutes of the 3-4 hours of show you are getting for your ticket price and it's was actually fairly solid: give it something.

The last 20 minutes of Dynamite went downhill rapidly, and it's a crying shame because Purrazzo is vastly more better than Martinez. But honestly, nothing was going to save that main event. Stepping back, the promo hype between Deeb and Rosa was tragic... Then the Julia Hart payoff that never occurred...

It felt like the show should've started with the main event and ended with Hardy v Fish. The heavyweight title build up is meh. The few bright spots continues to be Ricky Starks being Ricky Starks, and anytime The Acclaimed are on TV.

Jesus the first half of the year for AEW has been 50/50 for me. I'm not sure if it's down to waiting for the fat trimming to occur to see who's left, or Tony has kinda run out of steam creatively and is just letting the experienced wrestlers lead their feuds. Here's hoping the build up to Double or Nothing gets better.

Might have to do with all of the organizations that he's trying to tie the brand to and ownership of ROH. It's like he's focusing on all of that and letting AEW slide. He's getting all of the ROH belts off people who worked with ROH and were fan favourites and just jobbing out the rest. Like his toys are better than most of Sinclairs except the collectors items.

He probably has to deal with the old deals Sinclair had with places like MCW for wrestler training, PWG, and RPW promotion partnerships too.
