Holy fuck, do I hate Eddie Kingston. He and moxley embody the mentality that hinders AEW's inability to adapt and grow. "Do what you want, even if it's something you shouldn't be doing." How long is he going to larp as some early NJPW reject before someone sits him down and tells him that his offense looks like shit and clashes with his image of being a hardnosed tough guy from New York? It's also another example of AEW taking another indy darling well past their prime years, presenting them to a new audience, and showcasing their worst attributes. WWE spent years disparaging indy wrestling, ignoring and writing off the accomplishments of independent wrestlers they signed up from ROH and TNA, yet I'd argue that AEW has done more damage to the image of the indy scene by accident than WWE ever did on purpose.

Kingston looked like a legit badass in the early days of his AEW run because he was the guy that answered Codys open challenge for the TNT belt and gave him a run for his money. Just some fuckin' dude who had been on the indies forever who was taking his shot at the golden boy of the industry. Borrowing a pair of wrestling boots because he had to sell his own ones to make rent etc. Rags to riches story.

He had a few more decent matches after that but then once they gave him a bit more time on PPVs and he started gassing hard from the pace of a 20 minute match and tried to do some half-arsed Kings Road shit but was too much nice guy to actually stiff people. A great promo, a solid worker but when all his "power moves" expose the business because of how afraid he is to lay them in then he'll never be anything other than a fake tough guy.

PAC returned and Orange return announced for Wednesday.

Statlander winning the AEW womens title with Yutas seatbelt pin that he stole from Chucky T is some multi-year booking stuff for the sickos. I'm going to lose my shit if she starts doing the Awful Waffle because it's probably my favourite move.

Kris has been one of AEWs better workers from the start so putting the belt on her is pretty fucking cool. She started training wrestling on a whim because she was a stunt-woman and somebody told her they thought she could probably take bumps well.

The marks in the locker-room had to explain to her why they were so excited by Steamboat, Bret, etc. showing up backstage at AEW because she never watched wrestling so she genuinely didn't know who they were.

That intro was fucking 🔥🔥.

McAfee showed up and as he walking to the ring HHH came up behind him like a drunk frat boy and hugged him.

Pat is either a great actor or had no idea it was coming because he looked legit confused lol.

Lol Brock just squashed Cena and people, especially Redditors, are pissed. I'm glad, I've always liked Lesnar and have been either negative or meh on Cena for most of his career. Glad he got to get squashed by Lesnar one more time.

The big segment where Jack Perry turned heel on Tony Khan and joined the Bucks gets erased like Cena's turn at Elimination Chamber.
Imagine if they spent time developing actual talent. Why TK keeps giving storylines to Bucks and there crew is beyond me.

I don't want AEW to go out of business but when they do shit like this I wonder if they want to stay in business.

I mean, a big part of that is Tony Kahn himself. Allegedly, after setting up the whole EVPs gone rogue thing with the Bucks which included them putting him in a neckbrace, he nixed it and dropped it with no explanation because he didn't want people thinking he wasn't in control of booking. Even Vince, for as big an ego he had, wasn't stupid enough to nix storylines where he was the butt of the joke or temporarily lost power on screen.

wasn't there some hub-bub about him wearing it to the NFL draftt
Yea he did, and then like a week later he dropped the whole story, making whatever publicity or heat they got immediately drop like a wet fart. I'm not a fan of the Bucks, but it sucks ass to have a long term storyline killed in the womb because your booker is such an autist he can't even tell the difference between real life and kayfabe in the very company he owns. I guess it is confusing for Kahn though, considering he actually does let a bunch of wrestlers like Jericho do whatever they want.

I think IYO is great but I don’t see the recent hype of people saying she’s like on an all time run and possibly the best wrestler on earth. I’m saying this here because maybe someone will actually discuss it here while on multiple other sites Iyo fans would rage to no end. She wrestle the same style and quality as many other joshi.

Hearing Barrett exclaim horniness and Michael Cole stutter every time Chilean cheeks appear on camera warms my dead heart.
