A big kudos for American Thinker to write that article about the transgender lie.
In The American Conservative recently — in a piece entitled
www.americanthinker.com
I generally keep my power level regarding transgender issues outside of the Kiwi Farms because 1) I'm not stupid and I like to have a gainful employment and 2) Presenting as neutral allows me to keep track of what people think without being reactive to my opinions.
My general opinion is that this is an incredible double edged damage to LGBT rights.
Talking to the most normie tier people, the average joe who would just believe anything the TV tells them and generally fetishize left wing ideas as the ideas of intelligent, sophisticated people they make apparent to which extent TRAs are piggybacking on LGB talking points. From this people you will encounter the "They're born this way" argument, the "It's better to have a troon kid than a dead kid" argument, the "There is the same amount of trans people now that there has always been, you are only seeing more because people aren't scared anymore to admit it" argument, etc.
Of course, the idea that prior to circa 2010 there were trans people everywhere that were born this way and they were presenting as the gender they were "assigned" with no issue would put a big question mark on the whole thing's reality, as, unlike gay people, who despite the best efforts of some of them, you wouldn't have a reason to know they're gay unless you're watching them fuck, you would think somebody who feels they're the opposite gender, or another gender altogether, would be somewhat visible in many ways, but yet transgender people were extremely fringe before 2010 and those "closeted" cases stealth to mainstream society were nothing but old-fashioned straight fetishists. What a surprise!
But we are also told that people were constantly killing themselves, so one would think 20 years ago every tree would look like a Christmas tree with trans decorations, but there are many reasons why this isn't obviously the case.
For this sort of people, usually middle class women and soy-filled apologetic straight men allies, troons are but an extension of homosexuality. They don't understand the difference between a gay man and a MTF troon. In fact, they struggle with the idea of a masculine man. For handmaidens, no gay man is a real man and they might as well be all on the brink of trooning out.
For this sort of people, FTMs, on the other hand, tend to be laughable and not-real-anything. Because they all seem to be under some vague feminist idea that they're recruiting people for woman power.
The LGBs who still support Trans Rights are doing it out of self interest. They're in fear of drawing a line, well aware that many people would draw a line that excludes
them. This is why many LGBs have a "Everything should be allowed" mentality.
Granted, all the straight people who support Trans Rights are just doing so over a perceived moral majority and if that perceived moral majority changes, they will trash all LGBT, because they don't see any difference between any of them. They all go together and activists have made damn sure of it.
Across the increasingly popular TERF/Gender Critical crowd I keep encountering, there are basically conservatives, liberal women and LGBs.
Conservatives oppose it because, duh, they're conservatives.
Liberal women are starting increasingly opposing this for all the reasons that there is no point in mentioning because J.K. Rowling and a whole bunch of liberal women users in this very website have made abundantly clear.
LGBs opposing it are basically Ls, their motivations need also not explanation because there are a bunch of them in this forum who have made their positions very clearly.
A very small portion of GBs are being vocal about drawing the line because they know that the "everything should be allowed" won't go anymore and they want to be able to draw a line here and now and save achievements for LGBs before somebody else, namely the straights, decide to draw a line and they draw a line that excludes LGBs.
Which they realise will happen if LGBs aren't more active in shaping the narrative, as Ts arguments are so intertwined with LGBs arguments that going against Ts will have LGBs as a casualty despite the interests of Ts being now clear to oppose the interests of LGBs. You have the activists to thank for this mess.
TL; DR
1- As many other ideologies, if not all, the fate of this particular ideology is on the hands of women. It will exist for as much as women want it to exist.
2- Despite women being typically trend followers and not trend establishers, in what regards to troons female public opinion is divided. A sizable amount of women don't like troons, and they are probably way more than the women that are being vocal about it.
3- Once the amount of women that are gender critical reaches, uh, critical mass, Trans Rights Activism, and by extension the whole LGBT, is dead. All women who are currently supporting Trans Rights Activism are fully expected to drop it immediately if that happens.
4- Ls are at the front of this war as their spaces have been aggressively invaded and they have been grossly harassed and then told to swallow it up.
5- Most GBs are trying to save face. Either by keeping troons because if troons go down they go down or by trying to drop troons so that they are allowed into polite society.
6- Men are noticeably absent from this debate. Only soy filled men and a certain kind of gay man appear to have an interest in this debate.
7- Bonus: The lawsuits are coming, and lots of screeching and lulz will be had.
