I'm back. A game set in a dystopian China where most of the country is taken over by the Soviets and the half being traditionalist Chinese farmers. So Fallout: China Edition meets Metro.

VR game that lets you destroy a city a la Rampage/Godzilla. One of the few concepts that would be very fun in the VR context.
With the current state of destruction physics I don't see this possible for a few more years if you want it any more in-depth than a building that splits into ten parts of just the manhattan equivalent of a set of dominos. Teardown is a decent attempt at smaller scale destruction but it still chugs doing anything large and buildings don't realistically collapse. Though if someone just got ahold of the engine for Red Faction Guerilla and upgraded it for current year you could probably make a pretty decent go.

I wish the Sniper Elite series had continued to be a Cold War series like it was for the original game. Yes, it took place as WW2 was ending, but most of the time you fought NKVD Russians, and Germans much less often. After they did the V2 semi remake, it became just another Nazi killing game, leading to even dumber shit like their Nazi Zombie Army or whatever its called series.

Sniper Elite 4 did do some nice things with the bullet physics, seeing that engine on a Cold War game (Korea?) would stand out and bring the series back to its roots.

A remake of Pokemon Crystal but with the original art style instead of the modern crap, and no lazy chibi shit.

Donkey Kong 64 II. Less focus on an insane amount of collecting, more platforming heavy.

DBZ vs DC. Basically a Street Fighter clone with DBFZ style finishers.

Metal Gear remakes for everything prior to Twin Snakes, and remasters of it and everything after. Also, Acid 3.

Final Fantasy X-3 & Tactics 2. They sort of did sequel material for each, more so FFX, but getting full games would be ideal.

I just want more companies to make Bethesda-style open world RPGs. There is nothing I get as absorbed into and yet it has been a goddamn DECADE since Skyrim. Other companies would probably improve the formula too, with Bethesda being shamefully lazy now.

Basically my dream would be a Morrowind spiritual sequel made by an indie developer that had passion for the concept and didn't need to focus on current-gen graphics. Throwback to Morrowind's low-poly look, or even something simpler and more stylized. Playing the game Barony made me wish it had the same kind of systems but in a open-world style rather than a roguelike.

Wish Capcom vs SNK 3 was made. Even if its classic capcom just re-using sprites, they can trace over the SNK ones so the art styles match. I know it's possible to just make it in mugen but the SNK sprites clash with the capcom ones and they're a pain in the arse to set up. A lot of the time the characters are horribly unbalanced too.

I wish fire pro wrestling had 3d models for the wrestlers instead of sprites. Creating custom parts is a nightmare using the sprite sheets. would have nothing else changed though, exact same game mechanics. Presentation, everything. Maybe allow more than 8 wrestlers in the ring at a time.

I always thought a wrestling game using rockstars rage engine would be cool. Using ragdolls and stuff to make moves more dynamic. Not just get into a hold and play a static animation.

a guitar hero/strategy/band simulator. Just things added on to guitar hero gameplay, like story beats, the ability to recruit local musicians, and growing your band from garage level to mega arena superstars. Unexpected events like band members dying from ODs or getting poached by rival bands or groupies (like a Yoko Ono), and the ability to piece together riffs and song pieces to upload original creations. And a online mode where you perform in front of other players and they have the ability to cheer or boo you
I remember having a game like this on PC when I was a kid, I think I got it from a Scholastic order. It was a cool idea but the problem with it was that if you didn't buy your band members new gear constantly, they would have a poor mood and play shows badly on purpose. Even if you had just got them something.

Edit: I found it, it was called Rock Tour Tycoon.

Have you tried Outward? It's not perfect, but it fits the "indie developer that had passion for the concept" description. It's not as hand-holdy as Skyrim, there's no fast travel or objective markers and you even have to use landmarks to locate yourself on the map. But the game is designed around that, so it's always easy to figure out where you are and what's going on. Very "immersive" or something to get "absorbed into" in my opinion.

You raise a really good point. I had forgotten about that game - Red Faction Guerilla had some awesome destruction physics.

Ape escape 4. They made a social media account for ape escape and were hinting at it being in the works for fucking YEARS until they suddenly left a weird cryptic message on the account about how they were closing and how they didn't accomplish all their goals that year or something but to look forward to the future still kinda hinting something might come out. All hope died after sony shut down the studio making it. I'm guessing that cryptic post was their way of getting around some NDA stuff surrounding game development.

You know what could be decent? And this will be an unpopular opinion, but a sniper walking simulator could be cool. Hide, survive, hunt, trek - one shot, one kill.

A proper remake of the Spider-Man PS1 games. I'm not much for the capeshit genre nowadays but those games were fun as hell.

There's two ways you can do it and have it work.

1. The N. Sane Trilogy Route - A shot-for-shot remake of the original games with improved gameplay mechanics and graphics. Could be good and would be the easier one to pull off successfully.

2. The REmake 2 Route - A reimagining of the game that is still faithful to the spirit of the games. It can be open world and maybe include a hypothetical third scenario in addition to the storylines of Spider-Man 2000 and Enter Electro.

For me I just want a single player Open World Super Hero game with Mordor's nemesis system.

In my head it'd procedural generate a city on every new game. It'd play like Spider-Man 2 but with the customization from City of Heroes. You could customize all your powers and there would be a variety of travel powers. You'd have a selection of origins you could play through similar to DAO that would explain how you got your powers.

At the start of the game you're just responding to dispatches, fighting muggers, bank robbers and the like. But oh no that goon you just threw in acid crawlled out later and now he has laser eyes. That new super villain gains in power and infamy as you do. As you gain more powers the villains go from robbing banks, then move on to hostage situations, bombs and the like, all the way through to elaborate schemes that endanger the whole city. And sometimes they team up with the other villains you generated. You end up with your own personal rogues gallery. If you hook the game up online your friends super villains can invade and your friends can help you in co-op. So you and your mates through just playing the game normally end up with this super fleshed out superhero universe that is affected by your actions.

Watched an LP for Martian Gothic: Unification years back and I always felt that game could go for a redo.

The story’s interesting, the setting’s awesome and the idea of having to switch to three different characters to solve puzzles as well as keeping them away from each other is pretty genius. Problem was, most of the puzzles could be a bit better designed and less ridiculous and the end game was rushed. Try not to change the gameplay though and keep the fixed camera angles.

It’s a shame remakes seem to be made only for popular games and for games that didn’t need one. MGU deserves a second chance.

i'd sell my left arm for a high effort Diary of a Wimpy Kid game, hopefully an RPG but i don't even care what type of game. at this point i've got my head so far up jeff kinney's ass i would buy the shit out of an FPS.

4 player co-op Dragon's Dogma meets Skyrim

Devs are absolute socially retarded autists and refuse to have any social media, game's only known through word of mouth, theyre also horny virgins so bikini armor is a thing, no shame at all
